How do I backup my HEAT wallet and is the wallet only protected by the PIN? Is it possible to store it offline?

You don't need to leave it only protected by pin, that would be for an account which you use on a regular basis. (Like your daily spending money, or active trading money).
You can clear the history of saving the information to the device (which is encrypted and accessed with your pin), by probably clearing the browser data.
You can keep a seed for an account away from regular use, and open it like this:

In the web wallet, if you click "Options" -> "Add"
Then type your seed, and a pin.
Click "Sign In"

If you click "Add" it will save it to your device with the pin to login.
"Sign In" just signs into that account, but won't save it to the device you are using.

You can backup your seed to your account on some pieces of paper, you can get creative (laminate it, carve it into wood or metal ...bury it at GPS co-ordinates only you know or in a safe in your house) . Maybe save a text file with your seed on a special USB too.
Then you have lots of access to get your seed, and open the wallet attributed to that seed whenever you need to.

Ok thanks! However when I open the windows wallet it only asks for the pin. Maybe I saved to seed beforehand to my computer when generating the account... is there a file in the heatwallet folder to clear the saved seed? Or do I have to generate a new account and proceed as you described above?

The devs promised they will be selling the coins they got from C-CCEX once again.
You must have been mistaken, we've not made such an implication at all. What's done with the HEAT tokens received back from CCEX will be decided later after CCEX actually decides how many tokens they'll send us and when they'll do that. Original amount to be received was something like 300k HEAT.

Those tokens will be used to support company development in the way that best supports the HEAT token price and / or company share value. Possible options include giving them out with company shares to be sold, selling tokens as such, burning them etc. This will be decided by us the company when relevant.

Burning them or sending them to users proportionally to the current balance would benefit the value of the project.

I think it would be best to give all those 300k to StewieG, he has been a great ass(et) to this project. Iam rly inspired by his passion, especially towards the things he hates so much.
If i could bring up the same passion towards my bachelor thesis, i would be finished in no time.

the only problem would be everytime you wrote something on your bacholor thesis would get deleted. thats how you see a wrong motivation brings no results at all.

Hi,

Is there any guide on how to get BTC out of the HEAT wallet. Can´t find any instructions for using AE.

Find it and BTC redemption done, Hopefully I will receive my 0.43 BTC as quick as possible. Wallet look fine to me and it works, I am little surprised. Sold only half of my stack, so let´s see how this going to end up.

Can we get HEAT on the Waves decentralised exchange? It seems to be the biggest decentralised exchange project now and once the final version rolls out on their mainnet it would be cool to have HEAT there. It would bring us exposure and popularity to our decentralised exchange.

How does heat compare to other decentralized exchanges? How does our tps compare to that of other coins? Can we have comparison charts Smiley

I think what is important is volume. You can have perfectly working exchange but without the volume people will not be using it. So it is good idea to promote HEAT on the more established decentralised exchanges and promote HEAT AE as an alternative.

Or perhaps we should wait with promoting HEAT AE?

At this point many people might find it risky to use the exchange and I do not mean the stability since it has been fixed, but the whole BTC redemption process (it is difficult, easy to make mistake and takes a long time to withdraw manually). Perhaps those things should be fixed first and then we should start promoting the AE on other decentralised exchanges.

To watch testnet in action from the browser wallet (https://heatwallet.com)

  • Click on menu button in top right corner
  • Click on "About HEAT" menu option
  • About Dialog will open, click on "Go to test net" link in About dialog
  • When your menu bar turns green and says "TEST NET" you are in testnet
  • Repeat same steps to go back to MAIN NET

This is the one we have been waiting for. Let us hope it performs well under testnet pressure.

I think you are right. We should wait until we have a simple, working package to promote. And it won't be long for such to be available. Then we can hit the market channels with force.

I have participated in independent testing on testnet today with several nodes in Europe and Asia. Everything seems stable even at relatively high tps rates. Already now the HEAT network is capable of stable, higher tps rates than Bitcoin. The next mainnet release expected soon with both forging rewards and Asset Exchange trading enabled will be a big milestone for this project.

when do you expect 1000 tps rate? I know the team is focusing on microtransactions, but is there a path to go there? Otherwise i would consider changing the Name of this thread: [ANN] HEAT: 3.0 crypto*multisig fiat*a2a hft*1000tps*DSA*PoS+PoP*e2ee chat*

Kinda upset I don't get straight answers. I posted about how IOTA and BYTEBALL have better TPS than this coin and the post was deleted. If I am wrong let me know why, don't delete.. I just don't see how HEAT can compete unless it has an idea on how to improve liquidity, improve tps, and gain more interest.

The internals are ready. The externals however are not.
If you disconnect from the network and pump transactions into HEAT, they can be stored away (and have all balances updated etc) at 1000tps easily, much higher numbers can be reached even.
The externals being the communication between peers, thats the second stage, how we do that is being worked out. The answer lies in a combination of better always-on connections, better protocol (now its plain json, which cant be scanned in place but needs to be loaded in memory always) and finally smarter communications between peers (instead of send everything to all - hello 20,000 transaction block - better to ping a node if he/she even wants to receive that 1MB blob or if they have it already).
To achieve all this we will be moving away from Jetty networking lib and towards AKKA.

When we are up and running and have released the HDK (Heat Development Kit - Needed for our work with ABN AMRO bank [among others]) we will be moving to the peer 2 peer parts.
It will be the last part that will be replaced that's still based on NXT code.

Can anyone help with this? I looked into Heat.properties but not sure where to add my wallet address.

The guide is very vague.

How do I import my wallet into my node server? Is there a safer way or do I need my HEAT in my node wallet?

It is in the highlighted part here that sets wallet.

You only need to set your api key in HEAT.properties

Soon you will be able to lease your HEAT to your node for added security.

Sometimes the forum mods go around deleting comments that are not relevant to the topic. They have gotten more aggressive lately. Even just saying "I like these news" will get a reply deleted.
