In the past, Silbert noted that Ethereum Classic needs to get rid of the difficulty bomb, make a decision on whether to stick with proof of work and finalize a long-term monetary policy before an Ethereum Classic investment fund could be considered. Although Silbert is bullish on the ETC token, he isn’t currently interested in many of the applications that have been pitched for the platform. “A lot [of] ideas on the Ethereum Classic side suffer from some of the same issues as Ethereum — as in why decentralize or use Ethereum?” he said.

From DCG’s perspective, ETC is a useful diversification tool for a digital currency portfolio. According to Silbert, bitcoin is the only asset that should take up the rest of that portfolio. DCG also sees value in Ethereum Classic as a smart-contract platform for the Internet of Things and as a micropayments layer.

DCG currently holds ETC in its portfolio, and they’re also exploring the possibility of getting involved in the mining of ETC.

I was glad to read that the ETHF(raud) has sold 90% of their ETC.  This is a very positive development and should bode well for ETC going forward without the dumping to try and destroy ETC.

The drop sucks. It was nice to see it at 1.45 for a few days. I should have sold then. Do you guys think it will go back up?

Everything will recover after the FUD campaign dies over BTC.  Crypto was starting to get the attention of the bankers and career criminals... I mean politicians so it was time to put the brakes on things.  I seriously have my doubts that anything will come of this "investigation" in China unless it is just a power grab to control BTC. 

I guess we will find out soon enough.  The larger exchanges have already come forward and made statements that they have the records to show that export of capital beyond the govt mandated controls is really not an issue.  And since we have not heard of any fraud, or criminal activity the announcements seem pretty ODD.

So I would hold tight if you can.  It may take a few months for the fear to subside, but after that things will start to recover.  It is a great time to be able to add to your positions with cheap coins.

Of course yes, it will go back up although will need time at least ETC has big volume of transaction, comunity, complete developers and markets that support for trading ETC.
Please relax it is just fluctuating of price and ETC will be survive on the markets, wait until diehard upgrade protocol on ethereum classic network.

If you check out the charts it seems to have bottomed at 110k satoshis so you can buy now or wait for sulfurtank to drop his 100K on bitfinex and see how low it will go.

ETC screams: short me, short me!! I'm gonna dump at least 100K on bitfinex and kill whatever support I see in the orderbooks. Hardfork sluggish reaction, there was no growth even at 10%. Although this hardfork have more big value than all previous. It solves  problem of speed and network security.

Fired today my Ethereum Classic Mist  Wallet (Ethereum-Wallet-win64-0-8-1) and it is stuck at Downloading block 2,527,063 of 3,042,058 for 24 hours.. no progress.

Is there any other wallet where I can import the mist keys!
