It seems like ETC is under attack and last night parity wallet from us node crashed , right now bot us and eu are running fine on https://ethc.coin-miners.info/ but still there is an attack on etc , i hope there will be an update soon to stop this kind of attack.

Both ETH and ETC are attacked in a similar way this time. It is hard to sync geth due to memory overload. It's recommended to increase swap size to 64GB. More information here: https://www.reddit.com/r/EthereumClassic/comments/572vx9/etc_network_issues_discussion/

Also, some ETC block explorers are down since they depend on geth. Mining still continues, major pools implement different optimizations to mitigate the attack:

Etherninja with great advice in reference to the ETC network issues. Let me know if this link works for everyone.

"Increase swap 32-64gb. increase vm.swappness 60. parity dbcache 4096. tx gas cap 50000. pools might benefit from taskset if stratum process on same node. set ramdisk to expand more than physical memory. i am switching to dbcache from ramdisk for now."
