40GB, that is vastly inflated with spam transactions that are fixed once you redownload the whole chain.

That is what is included in the blockchain so there will be no changing that just like the spam transactions done in the bitcoin blockchain. 40GB is not vastly inflated. You will need to download the whole 40GB just to run a full node. All that from a platform that is not mass adopted yet. I speculate that proof of work and smart contracts are the future but ETC is not a good implementation of it.

Will ETC go to POS like ETH does after 90 million coins mined out? I guess you will continue pow, is it correct?

@altcoinrich. It is obvious that both ETC and ETH will not go to POS. ETH will not do it because it will make ETC stronger and also it might be technically very difficult with them. ETC has no definite plans to be POS.

This is only my speculation but QTUM could become a proxy POS platform for Ethereum. Dapps and smart contracts in Ethereum can be migrated and run on QTUM according to their developers.

Fired today my Ethereum Classic Mist  Wallet (Ethereum-Wallet-win64-0-8-1) and it is stuck at Downloading block 2,527,063 of 3,042,058 for 24 hours.. no progress.

Is there any other wallet where I can import the mist keys!
Thanks

48 hours and no progress.. still stuck at block 2,527,063.

Can anyone help pls???

I hope someone can point me in the right direction.

I had the mist wallet open for 72 hours to see if it made progress past block 2,527,063 but no progress was made.  I closed and opened the wallet every 24 hours but there was no progress either.
Now I have downloaded the new wallet (0.9.1 (Pre Release)) but it gives a network error and does not download anything.

So basically Mist Wallet IS USELESS!  Does any one have any suggestions?  Can I import the mist wallet keys to any other wallet?

Thanks for you help.

Opps, sorry but i did get my problem fixed but thanks for responding.

I used the Ethereum Classic Geth 3.2.3

I installed it in a new laptop.  I let it sync and shut it off. Then I copied the keyfile to the directory in the "users" roaming directory (windows), and started geth again.
I was the able to open my wallet (using the attach command) and had no sync problems.

If anyone been charting etcbtc, we're close to a big move up or down.  Less than one week.  If we break down I see us going back to .001 around 1 dollar.  This would be very bearish.  If it breaks up I see us going to .002 easy. Around 2 dollars.  With all the investors and ico's and crap would really cause big panic if we break down.  And create a ton of resistance above.

Unless big money steps in and defends a break down.

What about this downfall value story?
According to my charts, one has not seen such a drop for months.

Can we talk about availbality of peers? Seems unsufficient at all. I guess it could be weak point of ETC network as well. Any idea how to improve number of open peers?

Thank in advance.

ETC is probably the best risk to reward trade at the moment.
