Think of it as of a free thread bumping service. Use [Ignore] button to not be distracted by our posts.
There are limits to bumping too. I'd prefer to only read ontopic posts here, my ignore button is reserved for giveaway cheaters.
And although I love to read your (plural!) petty fight, I prefer to read all in Meta section, while eating popcorn. Not here.

Byteball have been down hard... this is probably related to the bitcoin and all cyber currencies are going down. It is just the cycle I guess. Wait for bottom to buy.
Its not just byteball, but all the other coins are going down too.
It will reverse once the bitcoin saga is over.

One thing at a time, let's sort out this one first:

You lost already

Remind me the conditions of the bet, please. Just to be sure that I indeed lost.
Coward.

I asked your the conditions of that bet, you failed to remind the conditions (because there was no the bet) and decided to distract my attention by offering another bet, after I insisted to sort our the previous issue first you called me "coward"... Well, it's just one of many cases where you lie and then try to save your face. I see that, others see that, do you see that too?

can you guys seriously take it to your own thread? this is about byteball not your personal feud. im going to report posts on this in the future in an attempt to keep the thread cleaner. its about byteball not some argument and bet you both have. i encourage others to report their posts like this as off topic as well because thats what they are

Hi, I had an issue with my computer and had to completely renew the software. I have got my Byteball wallet seed but no backup file.

Do I understand it right, that my blackbytes are gone? or where are/were they saved?

When I try to backup my GBYTE using the seed it say I need to use full wallet. Can I just download full wallet (currently using light, old one was light as well).

Thanks for your help

All wallets I have on different devices are taking endless time to synchronize. Does this have anything to do with the new wallet release?

there's an awful lot of new owners and that means new dumpers. this was the biggest distribution yet. maybe the price behavior has changed. i'll keep my powder dry and buy some more soon.

It's not the dumping after the last distribution round. It's also the bear momentum we are seeing in the crypto space which puts even more downwards pressure on the price.
And yes I agree that selling now doesn't make any sense. Good time to buy more BB. Price could still go lower so it might be smart to buy in tranches.

Is there some kind of update button in the ByteBall app or do I have to download and install this new version over the current one?

Correct. If you didn't make a full backup and didn't save the data directory, your blackbytes are gone.

Quote
or where are/were they saved?
From https://byteroll.com/backups :
Code:
macOS:
~/Library/Application Support/byteball

Linux:
~/.config/byteball

Windows:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\byteball

Quote

Download the normal wallet (which you have already), and set it to "full wallet" when you create a wallet.
It will take a while (up to days) to Sync.

Where can I set it to full wallet? saw this just when I downloaded and started it first, don't find a part to change this on an existing one?

Close Byteball, rename your datadir (see code above) to byteball.old, and restart Byteball. It should ask you again.

Strange is, that following directory does not exist not he older library which I saved:

macOS:
~/Library/Application Support/byteball

Was it different before the current updates?

no your conversations highlight your disdain for each other. discuss your issues without brining your bets and arguments into it. explain how your bet in btc actually relates to byteball? your experiment might but your btc bet and arguing on terms doesnt.

This is not offtopic, the bet is about me saying Byteball database compresses well, then CfB calls me a liar and says Byteball database can not be compressed due to information theory.

Then he says he will attack Byteball by sending many transactions to increase the database size.

To which I say, I bet you 15btc you wont do anything just like iota doesnt deliver anything for IoT. 2 months later he has not done anything besides FUD in this thread. Then he of course claims there was no bet.

Byteball database still compresses well, "spamming" with use-less transactions will only cost the fees and bytes of attacker - wasting money - which I encouraged him to do.

If anything, this even should show that Byteball as technology can resist CfB (Iota and Nxt) developers theoretical and practical attempts at attacks and FUD.

I linked a new byteball address with a new btc address for the next airdrop round. The chatbot told the correct btc balance but when I check the linked byteball address from the "Byteball distribution companion" it says that my btc balance is 0. Any idea what went wrong?
