What's the latest price for Blackbytes?
I'm thinking that when distribution is finally complete that GBB are going to do really well and it will be worth trading some Bytes for Blackbytes.

Is there a reliable price indicator for Blackbytes? Unless an exchange lists blackbytes, it will be tough to get a holistic sense of the demand and prevalent price.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Now we have flight delay insurance bot.  It's already added to the Bot Store.
That means you can also use it for flights you're not even taking!
In any other insurance business, that would be considered insurance fraud. Here it's okay I guess, and would be a nice way to experiment with it, turning it into a flight delay gambling bot.
Would it also be possible to use blackbytes for flight delay insurance?

"Gamble", "insurance" and "investment" are the words describing the same thing. The difference is only in the probability of loosing losing. If the probability of loosing losing is high its called gambling. If the probability of loosing losing is moderate it's called "insurance". If the probability of loosing losing is low it's called "investment". The final outcome is affecting the name too.  For example if somebody went broke on an "investment" you will hear people say that he "gambled" and lost. Buying insurance is a gamble too essentially. You gamble on the probability of negative event occurrence. Those who don't buy insurance actually gamble too - on the probability of negative event not occurring.

It's all the same thing but with different names given to it invoking negative or positive attitude of the one giving the name.

ftfy...

great post btw. never thought of it that way, thanx

Tricky English... Thanks

you are very welcome my friend.
I see that same "loose", "lose' mistake made time and time again on these forums and it drives my obsessive ass crazy! (I suspect I'm not alone in this matter)
Only reason I pointed it to you is because it takes away from your otherwise very insightful/excellent post.
(which is normally not the case when others do it and hence not worth my while getting all whiny about it)
anyway thanx for not taking it the wrong way.
but I digress...

so anyway yeah...gotta love this new flight insurance bot thingy.
and I have to say that for all the different coins I've played with/mined traded over the past 3 years of my foray into
crypto, this coin by far and away stands out as being my favorite. (well besides btc of course)
Simply put...Byteball is the dogs-bollocks ... nuff said.

Well, for anyone interested I DID get my byteball full wallet to update (after 3 weeks) the big hurdle was the 9th,10th.11th or airdrop days....

It caught up the last 5 days today.

I DID get some SSD drives for my dual bay laptop..so should not have any issues with this when I clone and replace my c: and d: drives

anyway ..I needed to update this beast some anyway...so it all works

Side Note:

Anybody else having problems with this particular thread (does the mod hate me?)

It will not show new messages even thou I have the thread toggled as watched....and tried to unwatch and watch numerous times with no result

also, it will NOT let me quote others to reply to here

I get the below on trying to quote and reply here

"The post you are trying to quote either does not exist, was deleted, or is no longer viewable by you."

weird...been on bitcointalk 4 years and 3 months...never saw such before, except alpha-tech scrypt miner scam ...banned on their thread..hmmm again does OP hate me?

anyway if the OP is watching (sent a pm) would be nice to see why this is 'dorked' on my end or your end or whatever Smiley

now ...should I convert all my remaining 400 LTC to BTC for the byteball and 'iffy supposed' BCC btc fork advantages.....(of course I do that LTC will pump to 80 bucks soonest)

decisions, decisions

Can someone guide me if there is any other steps for the next airdrop.
I bought 1 GByte and I have them in my byteball desktop wallet, will I receive 0.2GB automatically or I should make a request/link them somewhere?
Transition bot is only for linking bitcoin address to byteball address right? Or I can use for byteball-byteball too?

All fine. Just relax.
Don't forget: To get also blackbytes, it is necessary that this BB-address is linked!

Linked means the address is known to the bot.
The bot knows an address, when the BB-address is linked to one or more Bitcoin address(es).
Whether the Bitcoin address is empty or contains a value does not matter.

so as far as I understood linking the adress once and than sending all your byteballs there is ok . correct ? please let me know if thats the way to do it. dont want to miss out on the next airdrop
Yes, to get also blackbytes (Bytes-> Blackbytes), the amounts must be consolidated on the red (linked) BB addresses.
To receive new Bytes (Bytes-> Bytes) it doesn't matter on which addresses the bytes are
Summary: If you have somewhere bytes (on any BB-address) you will always receive 20% new bytes. But blackbytes you will only receive at linked BB-addresses.

To find your BB-adresses with balance:
use cogwheel (next to the wallet name) -> advanced -> wallet information -> scroll down -> balance by adresses
Perhaps also helpful:
https://byteball.fr/BBdistribution.php or http://transition.byteball.org/
You can talk to the bot at any time and he tells you which addresses are linked and which amounts have been linked.

When you say backup, do you mean a copy of the byteball folder or the file made using the full backup option from the Byteball app?

The BCC fork is definitely taking the wind out of our sails. Why buy Byteball right now to get a 20% bonus when you can keep your Bitcoin and claim both BCC and Byteball? Perhaps our market will start to heat up a little more after the hardfork on the 1st.
With all the dumps BCC will be worth shit in seconds....

So will you send the bitcoin to the exchange and sell as well?

You could try it the other way around, meaning you launch a freshly installed full node, wait for it to sync and then try restoring from your backup.

OK, I got headless up and running, couple questions.

1. byteball.sqlite is now 2.5 GB, how big is db in sqlite format?

2. RPC call for main chain index returns 348670, where do I compare this to see if I'm fully synced? It's not obvious how/where to check on explorer.byteball.org.

Now on Byteball we can create our own tokens. Soon, an influx of new projects will begin that will be based on Byteball technological blockchain.

I tried to restore my wallet which I had backed up with wallet seed but my funds did not come back... is it still possible to recover my bytes again???

So you launched a Byteball app in full mode, waited for it to sync, and then restored using your backed up seed and your bytes did not appear?

Now on Byteball we can create our own tokens. Soon, an influx of new projects will begin that will be based on Byteball technological blockchain.

This would be a great milestone, However I believe a lot of buzz is around the airdrop of byteball and not its cutting edge technology. I think some real use cases and a bit of marketing my actually do good to making byteball used for smart contracts and more.
Alot of people just see byteball as free money.

Hi guys, i have a small problem which i hope you can help me out to solve. I had blackbytes on my windows computer. I recently swap to linux operating system but i also got a back up of my wallet before doing that. I did restore it now, but all i see is a 0 balance on my wallet. Did i loose all my blackbytes? Your help will be appreciated.

When you say backup, do you mean a copy of the byteball folder or the file made using the full backup option from the Byteball app?

Is there a difference in the end result? Which one is safer/better?
