No, I can't find any values of 0.024xx in it, and the coinmarketcap charts show a few values of 0.024xx in popups. However, I don't think coinmarketcap shows the raw data it works with anywhere. It could be due to a rounding error. Its charts rarely show perfectly accurate values for maximum and minimum prices during big Bitcoin price swings.

My question is, is it worth to people who have only 0.1 BTC?
I mean to join this airdrop.

Or is the amount so small that it is not worth to join this coin?
If you strongly believe in project, you should rather buy now approx. 5 GBYTE and link it in second round
After second round you have 5.5 GBYTE
If you just link 0.1 BTC
After second round you have 0.00625 GBYTE and still 0.1 BTC

well getting something is better than nothing. Moreover byteball is a decent coin, not a copy-paste coin seeking for ICO aiming at grabbing quick money. The many features supported will make this a great one.

Maybe I have missed this,

but is there actually already a way to spend Bytes and use the database?
(...)

Also interested in documentation on this functionality

Judging by the zero replies, I assume that, at this point in time, there are no byteball-based applications or services.
Any announcements I may have missed, anything in the pipeline? Not that I can find anything on byteball.org...

Shouldn't (early) applications play a role in the discussion of potential value and distribution schemes?

No, there no applications on main net yet. There are few example bots on test net. I hope, some applications on main net are coming soon. Tonych is not very active on this thread since after  distribution, I guess he is cocking something to surprise us.

Demos of some applications are running on testnet https://byteball.org/testnet.html (need to install a separate wallet), all source code is in our github repos.  Still more to come.
Great!!

Indeed. Very good news.

OP updated to a more precise description of the second round distribution:

Participation in Byteball distribution

If you missed the 1st round of distribution, you can still participate in the further rounds.  If you were in the 1st round, you can multiply your holdings.  In the second round, which is expected in mid-February, you receive:
- 62.5 MB for every 1 BTC of proven balance
- 0.1 new bytes for every 1 byte you own at the moment of the snapshot

You also receive blackbytes:
- 62.5 * 2.1111 * 106 blackbytes for every 1 BTC of proven balance
- 0.21111 new blackbytes for every 1 byte you hold on the linked address at the moment of the snapshot
(total money supply of blackbytes is 2.1111 times more than that of bytes)

Byteball translators, please update your threads ASAP, thanks!

Can you explain how ByteBall is fundamentally different from IOTA?

AFAIK
- no POW, Byteball uses fees to prevent spam
- no ICO, Byteball coins are given out for free in several airdrops
- Byteball has full and light wallets with easy gui for Linux, OSX, Windows, Android, iOS
- Byteball uses chat bots to communicate with the user
- Byteball is based on javascript, IOTA on java
- Byteball is already traded on an exchange (cryptox.pl) and listed on coinmarketcap.com

Is this one of those coins that gets released then fades off into the distance then comes back with a pump that rewards all the early adopters ? Like Vanillacoin and that John-Connor stuff he did ?

Thanks!  I was really wanting to know what was the new consensus algorithm that was used that is different from IOTA.

Also, how are untraceable payments achieved?

Does ByteBall use RS ?

Untraceble payments are achieved by blackbytes, the transaction with blackbytes are done through direct connection between the two parties, and details are not recorded in the chain, except some tx hash so it can be verified later.

OP updated to a more precise description of the second round distribution:

Quote

Byteball translators, please update your threads ASAP, thanks!
we can start to link our adresses or we need to do this later?
I can't find the quote but tonych said that the next linking phase has not been announced yet. At present you don't need to link your address.
Anybody correct me if I'm wrong

If we did not touch our linked funds. They will still be linked and nothing to do for the second round right?

The transition bot is up again, you can link and check your linked addresses by chatting with it. transition.byteball.org however, still displays the first round data.

Yes. Even if you touched them, you can always send them back to your already linked addresses (which will stay linked for all the subsequent rounds).

Do we need to move our bytes to linked address to get more bytes during the second round or will it distribute to any funded byteball address?

you need to have your bytes or btc in linked addresses when the snapshot will be taken , somewhere in mid-feb.

What was the distribution ration in the first round per 1btc? For some reason can't find it.

Does it make sense that the price will be cut in half after the next distribution?
