This has absolutely nothing to do with politics and proposing it has is ridiculous. Any decent spam filter seeing 5000+ almost identical emails from one sender to recipients on one domain would be triggered, causing a blacklisting.

As to why the IT department has chosen not to remove Byteball.org from the servers blacklist, I would have to refer you to the Student Council (FCEUSB) who together with the dean's secretary met with representatives of the IT department. They will be able to explain the reason for their request of having usb.ve domain removed from the email attestation bot's white list of domains eligible for rewards.

As already stated, Byteball has absolutely no intentions of causing any harm or problems to neither individuals or systems.

This is nothing but teething troubles for Byteball. If this is sorted out and Byteball gains a committed following among the university students, it would definitely provide a boost for adoption nand Byteball in the long run. The administration may be bureaucratic and slow to act, but I think eventually they will see reason and remove Byteball.org from the blacklist.

Your thread makes sense. It seems that Byteball has focused on the right target population which can help to make massive adoption of Byteball.
Then, those guys will bring Byteball to more people around them, called as potential investors.

It works. USB mail server already doesn't work, though. The mails from the bot gets caught by it's spam filters.

We recently participated as an external partner in a hackathon organized by Bosch.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/gr4oe5gp6hxbzv9/Pimp%20my%20Connectory.pdf?dl=0

Three teams used Byteball in their projects:

Coffee paid by Bosch Coins - We want to sell some kind of premium coffee at the Connectory in Stuttgart. The coffee should be freshly brewed in a Bosch coffee machine which can accept Bosch Coins as a payment via the Bosch Coins Wallet (based on Byteball, https://byteball.org/). Bosch Coins is a cryptocurrency, which is implemented as an asset on the Byteball Network.

Haithabu – the gamification approach to negotiations - What is at the core of every business and every trade? Easy: Negotiations with your business partners! Not so easy: Becoming experienced in negotiations is a key competence, however is also exhausting. The department CP/PSG3 (Advanced Awarding and Negotiations Applying Game Theory) have conceptualized a gamification approach that makes negotiation-training easy and a fun experience. They are looking for enthusiasts to translate it into action.

DLT Smart Contracts Automated by Bosch Transport Data Logger Data - Bosch Transport Data Loggers aren’t just for track and trace applications, they can provide actionable data to automate and secure the procurement process. Using Bosch’s new cellular connected TDL 140, we will simulate the purchase and shipment of a carton of eggs, automatically executing DLT smart contracts when the asset enters geo-fenced areas or when control limits are exceeded. The end result will be either a safely delivered carton of eggs, or an automatic return and full refund!

In particular, the coffee machine runs a light Byteball node on a Raspberry Pi.

I was there and helped the guys learn how to use chatbots, payments, smart contracts, etc on BB platform.  It was pleasure working with them!

Another outcome of this event is that I had to (finally) write developer docs about smart contracts on Byteball https://github.com/byteball/byteballcore/wiki/Smart-contracts.

Your bounty campaign is ending next week.
Is there any possibility that you'll resume the bounty campaign again?

Thank you for your reply.

One of the problems in reaching a wide distribution probably is that there is fare less people who are actively researching new emerging cryptocurrencies than we'd like to think. Most of Bitcoin adopters probably have just bought some Bitcoins on Coinbase as an investment and never thought at the issue again after. To reach people who are not deep into cryptos with a new coin take time and time and time - and ideas and efforts.

The objective may not be to make bitcoin holders richer, but what about people who bought Bytes in the secondary market? The objective should not be to shaft them. Smiley
I am not for burning them, because if the remaining bytes are spent well, it could drive the price higher.

I think you would find the original idea was to distribute to bitcoin users with a full moon airdrop every full moon. Not to make them richer but because bitcoin savvy users were originally targeted as future byteball users. In fact I remember byteball being marketed as a bitcoin upgrade (perhaps unofficially). But I'm just splitting hairs the plan has changed a zillion times since then.

This latest one targeting students in Venezuela is actually one I like, finally.  Shame the IT department didn't play ball to let them get their free $10 worth though. For future attempts at something like this I guess the lesson is to get the university and their IT dept onboard prior to the whitelisting.

Your thoughts on this one align with what I have when I read the posts above yours. It is indeed for the BTC hodlers and its intention is to not make them any richer but to give them reward for hodling it with specific amount of time. I also don't want to have any coinburn happening but I'm good with distributing it to other users that provide good product for BYTEBALL, be it a quality article about it, a campaign or any sort of advertisement. We know that BYTEBALL is widely recognized by them but we shouldn't forget that there's still new people coming in to crypto everyday and if could provide continuous advertisement (through the use of remaining BYTES) for this coin every day, we will reach far wider audience.

In Venezuela, there is a lack of currency (bolivar is worthless, so it is not a currency).

That is the main reason behind that decision. They dont want foreign currencies (crypto even less) to solve the problem (and became massively used, ofc).

you are completely right, this could be a turning point, a perfect storm for Byteball and  Venezuela. Venezuela people need a payment system and a currency with urgency, byteball is very user friendly, enviromental friendly with quick confirmation, low fee.
Byteball for Venezuela can not be better, it is perfect.
I hope Byteball mantain the momentum in Venezuela.

A new bot in the bot store:

Exchange bot for dual-chain tokens

For tokens issued both on Byteball and Ethereum platforms, the bot enables seamless exchange between Byteball and Ethereum tokens.

It was developed by HDRProtocol team, partial source code is at https://github.com/HDRProtocol/exchanger

The bot currently supports two tokens:
- TitanCoin
- Nicebyte - the token that was recently spammed to our wallets and is apparently not backed even by promises.  Nonetheless, it offers a good way to play with the exchanger.

The developers think that bot might be useful for dual-chain ICOs as the Ethereum-based token will be easier to list on exchanges.  It might work or not, but we'll keep the possibility open.

Byteball does not solve the main problem, devaluation. For the 6 month of 2018, byte inflation was more than 400% against the dollar. Perhaps this is still better than bolivar, but still unsuitable for use and store of value. It's still good to receive bytes for free

The bot is very nice and easy to use. I exchanged some Nicebytes and they were in my ETH address in less than 10 minutes.

!!!ATTENTION - STUDENTS AT USB!!!

After the byteball.org domain was blacklisted by the mailserver at Universidad Simòn Bolìvar, there has been a meeting with representatives from FCEUSB, the university management and the IT department.

Due to unfortunate events, we have been asked to remove the usb.ve domain from the white list of the email attestation bot.

It will no longer be possible to receive attestation rewards or referral rewards for email-accounts on the usb.ve domain.
We are truly sorry about it, but Byteball cannot risk causing any harm to individuals or IT-systems.
The whitelisting has been removed now as requested by University officials.

Any questions regarding this can be directed to FCEUSB.

This does not in any way affect the Use-a-Thon

i just wondering if we can find a solution of been blacklisted.
Since the email is only used once for confirmation of email attestation, can the confirmation link be send via whatsapp, wechat, text messenger, etc. In today's world we can send confirmation links in many ways besides email.
But how to we know if the phone number and the email belong to the same person, ask an attestor, some people in the University could serve as a attestor and they could confirm that the link send to phone number to attest email belong to same person. Or in the case of Venezuela in particular, send the confirmation link only to an attestor. The thing is we need to work thing around and push the Venezula momentum to the next level, and not let it cool down and find a solution.

We need Byteball in Venezuela with Urgency, {por favor}.

Another wondering,
Since we have email attestation, can we have phone number attestation ?
So we can send bytes to phone a number as a "domain phone service wallet"
I think it hard to blacklist a phone number ...

another wondering,
is possible to send bytes to a new "domain name wallet" and send the confirmation link to an email or any other messenger service.

for example send bytes to "Victor Smith" new created address and send the confirmation link "victor189@hotmail.com".

Does the address and confirmation sending link has to be the same?

Why not create a "domain address wallet" inside the chat bot itself without an external messenger carrier?

if this is possible, BYTEBALL will open the "PANDORA BOX" of the crypto space, "domain address wallet" will revolutionize it, because people will rush to create and to attest well know names and send bytes to address like "google", "yahoo", "byteball", "bitcoin", "obama", "donal" ...

what about website attestation ownership? To attest a "DNS" ownership, for example the owner of the "yahoo.com" can recive bytes to yahoo.com attested byteball wallet.
