Can the president of the Philippines can do it. Well I like what his doing in his campaign. It is very amazing program and very work program in the country. Many were discipline now because of him.
Nope. He can't absolutely makes Philippines drug free. Like in Colombia, their advocacy since then is same as Phillipines' president right now. Now, they altered that way because it doesn't work according to the latter

As we all know, Phillipines was really worst country when it comes to drugs, unfortunately it is only in the administration of president Duterte revealed many cases of drugs in this country. Although the campaign of the present administration was really determined to clean the Philippines to make it drug free, still i dont believe that he can make this country totally drug free. he can minimise or eliminate drugs but still many pushers are still free to spread drugs. But lets see after the terms of our dear president.

of course he can't be able to make the Philippines absolutely drug free , there are lots of corrupt government officials that surely protecting those drug lords and syndicate which president Duterte doesn't even know until now . i think the president should also focus well to the corruption as well as the poverty and the unemployment rate because illegal drugs is not the main problem of the country .

Well at least it will lessen the crime rate related to the drug addicts. Because they are at least afraid a little bit because they know that this administration is really determined on eliminating them.

The drug is not only a problem of Philippines, it is a problem of all mankind. If you do not start to control it at the state level, people will be gone. And for this it is probably necessary to legalize.

You cannot legalize such drugs! The addict will not be cured. Maybe not humane, but now addicts are scared and they have an incentive to quit.

As they say, that the former drug addict does not happen. If you already had time dependence, then sooner or later this relationship will wake up again. We need more strong willpower to himself holding in his hands and not look towards drugs.

We all worry about our streets overwhelmed with people with drug dependence, but at the same time in the Netherlands do not have this problem. The truth is prescription that it would be possible to prescribe those who need it the most.

As always, the president impose a lot of hope, but the bad thing is that many of the coming to power of porn disappoint people. Poverty, corruption and crime are the main concerns of all countries. But few people struggling with these issues.

he can kill all the dealers and lock up all the users.
this might have a short term effect.
but IMO the root cause of the problem hasn't been addressed.
wont take long till dealers stop trading in the open, and users dont openly admit to anyone they are users.
at which point the witch hunt will be much harder.

right now its all too easy, to kill / lock up people, because a huge % of the pop has this drug problem and the gov didnt care, so they didnt care that poeple knew about it.

IMO, the better way to solve the drug issue is to educate poeple on drugs, and make ALL drugs legal controlled substance

Legalizing drugs worked in Portugal:

Fourteen years after decriminalization, Portugal has not been run into the ground by a nation of drug addicts. In fact, by many measures, it's doing far better than it was before.

Duterte won't declare drugs legal.

His machismo won't allow him to admit being wrong.  He's economically illiterate and doesn't understand why Prohibition is counterproductive.

Besides, Prohibition serves Duterte's demagogic political purposes.  His supporters love his simplistic, violent solutions to complex problems.

The populist moral preening allows him to demonize drug users and lets him play Good Guy Superman Savior to the Bad Guy Supervillian "drug addict" Satan spawn.

Never mind that most Pinoys involved in drugs happen to be the least powerful, most wretched and defenseless citizens of .ph.

I can't wait until the Holy Father steps in and judges Duterte for how he's treating the poorest and most hopeless of his country.

Pope Francis is going to walk right up to Duterte, cut his balls off, and then drag his corpse behind the Popemobile from Manila to Laoag.
1. If being against psychoactive drugs and steroids makes Duterte economically illiterate then the same
should go for your precious U.S. leaders since last I checked Prohibition is still enforced in U.S.
Legalization of cannabis in certain states does not mean Legalization of all narcotic drugs.
How about you criticize my country when yours have demolished Prohibition entirely and crime rate
disappears? It was not until the previous administration that the use of the term "War On Drugs" was
discontinued. It is a step, but only that. Do not talk like yours have solved your Prohibition and
Drug-related crimes. Keep your preaching to yourself.

2. Prohibition is also used in regulating the manufacture, sale, and use of certain drugs through a
Prescription System. I guess plenty of your fellow citizens would be in favor on dissolving this as well
since overdose, sleeping pills, and overall abuse of prescription drugs are pretty common there. While
here, the majority of the population has never even touched a single sleeping pill. We don't rely on
prescription drugs for every little ailment. Imaginary or otherwise.

3. You really got to put a distinction between Drug Addicts and Dealers. Addicts need
help and rehabilitation but the terms "least powerful", "most wretched" and "defenseless citizens" certainly
DOES NOT apply to DEALERS and PEDDLERS. Those are for their VICTIMS, which are the addicts, youths,
and victims of drug-related crimes. The Dealers are CRIMINALS, unrepentant CULPRITS.

4. The addicts voluntarily surrender, they go to the cramped jails full of addicts, then they receive
    rehabilitation.
The Dealers / Pushers , are aggressive, they resist and fight, resulting in deadly confrontations. They die.
Some could certainly be summary executions, others from Drug Syndicates plugging leaks, and yet more
others totally unrelated crimes disguised as slay-killings. Sensationalism at its finest.
And frankly? They deserve it. If that makes me a tool, a person condoning violence, then so be it.
I would prefer to give MY mercy, understanding, and help to the REAL victims and certainly not to the
    criminals.

* Oh and if being in favor of the Prohibition on Drugs/obeying the law against narcotic drugs and substances makes me a "domesticated animal", "not a human being" , well. You call it this, I call it otherwise.

* I assume you are American, half or whatever. If not, well, I don't really care. I am tired of all your BS and you can shove it.

A total ban of any thing in the country will initiate criminal minds in the illegal sale. It's the economy, and the secret of the black market. This business will flourish and that will make money even with the help of official corruption.

The President can't do it alone. People of Philippines should unite to have a drug free country. Even if PDu30 is very strong with his fight with drugs if people under him is not doing their job like him. It would be a waste of time, effort, money and lives. We should help him because no man can do it alone.

The campaign to eliminate drug use in the Philippines can succeed if all agencies will cooperate and the people will do their part of the bargain. However, of course, we should not expect for a 100% elimination as this is quite impossible as making the drugs can be done even mobile.

The most important thing is that it is fully controlled and the market is reduced dramatically. Plus the government should also launch a massive education campaign against the use of drugs and all barangays all over the country must effectively have their own anti-drug measures and programs.

For the most part, all the politicians only talk, but to do what they say not in a hurry. Thus it is in the hands of people focused more opportunities than one president.

Don't forget the fact that the president is the reason why all people now are about drugs and motivated to wipe out drugs in our country. Without him, people will don't have courage to fight against drug, there a lot of president sit and finish their terms but no one focus and seriously deal on this issue.

I gave a big KUDO for President Duterte.
