This on-going drug war by the government of the Philippines is bound to fail, simply because you can not prevent crime by killing and creating another crime. They should learn what happened to other countries who did launch a war on drugs but miserably fail.

So what is your suggestion? Just keep the old way and just ignore the increasing volume of drugs that manufacturing in the country? The drug addicts are just killed because they are fighting back when they are arresting, And i think the extra judicial killing that happening is not made by the government, it is made by the Boss of that people that been slaughtered so that they will not testify against them. I think the drug war is effective because people in the Philippines gained fear on dealing with drugs. Only people involves on drugs/ their families are against on this drug war. Imagine china and other rich country has a death penalty on drugs abuse so how do you conclude that it will not work for just killing criminal.

How can this drug war be effective if your creating another crime? So how do you address now the hundreds of murderers roaming the street? As you said those EJKs are not by the government, so aren't you bother so many people are dying without justice? How can you know if all those peole are guilty or innocent if they are already dead? My suggestion is for the government to simple just follow the rule of law and stop promoting the killings.

I agree 100% with your post. Look at the Mexican drug war. It has been going on for many years now, and despite costing hundreds of billions of USD and more than 100,000 deaths, there is no end in sight. The war has also spread to the neighboring countries such as Guatemala and El Salvador.

That's what I'm arguing with many people who are supporting this kind of policies, it will never be effective and it will just create more criminals, the best thing the government can do here is to educate its people, follow the law and be an example.

We all know that our President is doing all what he can to kill this drug addiction problem here in our country because it is the major cause of most incidents or crimes that is happening in our mother country. That's right. But at the same time, unlike the soft-drugs, heroin causes severe damage to the health. I don't understand why Portugal allowed drug users to inject heroin, when its orally administered substitute (methadone) is widely available. If someone want to take heroin, then it is his choice. But the government must educate him about the harmful side-effects.

why would they catch drug users too,if drugs is illegal in your country then we can understand when drug lords are arrested for the crimes and one more thing is who is prohibiting these drugs,if i want to have something for my pleasure i must have the freedom to do so if i am not creating any public nuisance.

Well prohibited drugs will not cease away and the Philippines is far from being called a drug free country. Even with hard efforts from policemen, community and government sector drugs will not be killed because addiction will not stop if addicts are still alive. But the thing we can hope for is if not eradicated it will be lessened and that is the reality today drug addicts and trafficking have been lessened with the new Presidents efforts.

Drug free in the Philippines i think will be totally difficult to do because even when the government try to eradicate it 100%but it tune out to be like 80% because most group of people are already get their self use to drugs so we see that when the government is trying to stop it drugs some people are thinking of how to their self drug up.
