I know I said the next four years would be interesting but that's a little too interesting.

I believe that Trump will support bitcoin. He has cabinet members around him who are bitcoin supporters. And before he become President, he has investments all around the globe. So being an investor himself, bitcoin should be in his radar long before assuming the presidency.
He will not support Bitcoin because he do not know anything about the advance technology. Therefore, if you want him to support it, you have to wish that he will block and ban the China along with its currency: YUAN. It is the only way make Bitcoin become greater and higher than ever since the China controls a large amount of Bitcoin on the Earth

He will focus more on dollar to make it stronger and valuable as he said. I don't think this is not good sign for Bitcoin though he didn't watch towards it yet. Bitcoin mainly depends on the Chinese and is under influence of them more and US has very less impact on it.

may cut off federal financing of the Berkeley University (of BSD fame).

lol!  That is fucking hilarious.  Leave it to a computer nerd to explain what Berkeley is famous for.  To a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

BSD is a remarkably tiny part of what Berkeley is.  'of BSD fame' is really stretching it.   lol.

Take it easy, dude

As anonymous once said, "two of the most famous products of Berkeley are LSD and Unix, and I don’t think that's a coincidence”. In fact, neither LSD nor Unix had been invented at Berkeley (the former was invented at Harvard, the latter at Bell Labs), but this is exactly what I think when I think about Berkeley. Why would they want to piss off Trump unless they are smoking (or licking) something?

Since the election of Trump to the new US President yesterday, many questions about Bitcoin arise.

Will he promote Bitcoin and make it a breakthrough? Will he even officially ban Bitcoin? Will he make such a bad economic (and monetary) policy that Bitcoin will be seen as an alternative for many?

What do you think, what will a President Trump mean for Bitcoin?

I would love to see how you can ban bitcoin. What do you even entertainment such a thought for anyway ?
What had a president have to do with the bitcoin world especially Trump ? I say stay out of politics and stick with bitcoin.

Trump is one of those guys that is going to be supporting business so new Bitcoin innovations will probably be supported by the Trump Administration. He's one of the guys that highlighted that amount of power that the banks really have and doesn't support it.

I think Trump should be fine for bitcoin, but will bitcoin be fine for Trump?

During past weeks there were no signs of trump making moves about bitcoin currency. Tho it is still to early to say that he really does not care towards it. As of now i dont know why but he was too busy to take out people from the 7 countries that were muslim countries

Trumps policy for the economy may provide an upturn of Bitcoin. The more economic uncertainty there is the better for Bitcoin. The recent price increase of  bitcoin has already been an indicator of this.

I do not care, immigration matters and blocking 7 countries and build walls of Mexico is far more important than know about bitcoin, I'm sure the President of trump is not affected and is not concerned with anything related to bitcoin.

I think a minor correction wouldn't hurt anyone now

Other than that, there are many in-betweens between Bitcoin, on the one hand, and all these people on the other. Given the opposition Trump is now facing, I think it will take a long time before Donald finally decides to nuke Bitcoin. It is quite possible that 4 years (personally, I hope for 8 as long as funny years) will be nowhere near enough. But during this time a lot of things may happen to Bitcoin even without Trump's direct intervention

Donald Trump has the lowest approval ratings of any President in US history. His ratings are worse than Richard Nixon's ratings were right before they were going to impeach him.

I really just want Trump to never associate himself with Bitcoin at all. I don't want people to mentally connect Trump and bitcoin.

So, what about Trump's move to curtail the Dodd-Frank Act?  The guy doesn't care anything about the working class....he is out for himself and his cronies, period.  He may even attack bitcoin soon....You see how he worries so much about money leaving the country?  He may take a stance on bitcoin similar to Russia's stance on bitcoin.  Will that be good?

That's correct. Trump really doesn't care about the American worker at all and he's proven it over and over again for 30 years. I just hope he never learns about bitcoin. He's such a loose cannon who knows what kind of a stance he would take on bitcoin.

Quote from:  USA Today
An investigation by USA Today has found that more than 3,500 lawsuits have been filed against Donald Trump and his business entities over the past 30 years. According to the paper, hundreds of former employees and contractors have accused Trump and his businesses of failing to pay them for their work. Victims have included a dishwasher in Florida, a glass company in New Jersey, a carpet company, a plumber, 48 waiters, dozens of bartenders at his resorts and clubs, and even several law firms that once represented him in these labor lawsuits. According to U.S. Department of Labor data, Trump’s companies have also been cited for 24 violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act since 2005 for failing to pay overtime or minimum wage.

I've been telling you the same a few times

But better late than never, to come to understand. Trump is a five-star four-flusher and an outright demagogue who ultimately cares only for his profits. On the other hand, do you really understand as well what is Russia's stance on bitcoin? I think the total majority of US bitcoiners would be happy if the US government (including the IRS) openly admitted that they are basically ignoring Bitcoin existence altogether, with the effect being that they don't care if you pay taxes on Bitcoin earnings or not

After watching tonight's news on Trump, I'm wondering if war with former allies is good for bitcoin?

Not too uninteresting to not explain  Cheesy

After four weeks of presidency, I think the next four years will surely be a time the world has not seen for a long time. I do not want to say this is positive or negative. We will have to get used to a lot of new situations I guess. Bitcoin will certainly benefit from the growing uncertainty caused by Trump and other events in the world.

Absolutely, I think you will see that for cryptocurrencies too as a whole.  It is pretty obvious that people just want to get "out of the system" entirely, whether putting them into assets, gold/silver, bitcoin, you name it.

I mean, you can see how the system gets "pumped" with a correcting downward spike due to disasters (9/11/housing crisis).  If we don't see another crisis with Trump in the white house, I will be very very shocked.

I think Trump would not make a decision like that, because even if the president banned Bitcoin, that would not stop people from using the currency. The reason Bitcoin's design eliminates points of centralization is to prevent such things from happening. In addition to the ban not impeding its use, Trump would be contributing to the spread of knowledge about the existence and functioning of the currency.
