$ 2,795.00 for 6 GH FPGA? Hmmm  $ 7,000.00 for 250 GH ASIC(?) seems much better deal... Well ... when I get a 5GH/s BFL Jalapeno in a few days that's listed on the website as $274 and will hopefully start shipping in quantity soon - sorta makes that $2,795 seem rather ridiculous ... and 48 chips to make 6GH/s ? (The Jalapeno will be 1 or 2 chips and are around 30W) Yeah I'd wonder who would be interested in that in 2.5 months .... As for the 250GH/s ... OK now we're into the 6 to 12 months before that's gonna exist ... |

Mars: Hardware obsolete in three months, expensive. Better buy BFL 5GH,...
Jupiter: Price obsolete in shipping date: 3.7 Avalon machine batch 1, 4500$ in pre-order mode.
For other hand, seems strange no "medium level" machines,...

I agreed that for 6gh/s for $2,795 is not worth it, if it is $700 or $800 maybe can consider. But the 250gh/s for 7K is worth it. I hope they keep to that price of $7k or Lower for 250gh/s.
They should might as well just focus on the 250gh/s and get that out in 2 months.. if you take into consideration of avalon chips, is only $6200 plus a couple of hundred for pcb and other parts... all in less than $7k..
If they don't come out with the 250gh/s in two months time .. avalon will be the mining king.

From their FB site, I asked about if they will offer something in between the 6 GH and 250 GH and they said this: we will have ways of entering the market in the middle of those two boxes in the coming weeks for people who cant afford or justify the larger 250GH/s purchase, |

If KNCMiner is indeed who they say they are, it sounds like they are trying to gain community trust by delivering an easy to develop FPGA-based device in the short-term while their longer lead time ASIC-based device is being developed. All of you who are comparing their Mars device to a BFL Jalapeno need to instead compare Mars to a BFL FPGA. KNCMiner is only.. 12 months late to the party.
Develop the FPGA, show you guys are semi-serious, sell a few and then get your ASICs out the door ASAP. Don't ask for 'pre-order' money, compete on power efficiency(since you will be 6-12 months compared to your competition) and release news articles with frequent progress updates. Nobody will get pissy if you update about development on a product that they haven't already bought with a 'pre-order'. If you miss a deadline by 3 months it won't piss off the whole community.

Upgrade protection built in to any purchase with vouchers for up to $2000 off of any Jupiter purchase. kncminer how does this work? some can get 2000$ and some can get 100$? i find this very tricky. Also could you provide an ETA for Jupiter? Someone who is thinking of investing 7000$ into a product might want to know some kind of ETA. We already have BFL who has posponed their products from Octomber to April-May. |

I am waiting to see them deliver fpgas before I pre order their ASIC. If they deliver things are going to get interesting, price wise and bitcoin economy wise

Are you sure? I thought it was UP TO $2000. Besides, Jupiter is vaporware right now. We are going to be flooded with DIYers and their Avakon chips by the time it's due. |

Are you sure? I thought it was UP TO $2000. Besides, Jupiter is vaporware right now. We are going to be flooded with DIYers and their Avakon chips by the time it's due. Im sure they mean $2000 off. I will email them to clarify. |

After the big BFL fiasco i think they should provide some proof that they can actually ship the 250Gh device this year because i bet nobody wants to have 2000$ blocked for over 6-9 months like BFL customers. Until then it's just 745$ for a 6Gh device (no idea how big and how much power does it require)+2000$ gift for kncminer because swedish girls are blonde.

Sounds like they are using the profits of the Mars to pay for the Jupiter production. Which is fine, but I think I would want some assurance that my up front investment is at least going to pay for itself with the Mars. Then if the Jupiter doesn't materialise (after all shit happens), I wont be so pissed off.
