IS Bitcoinorama, Bargraphics??
No. Bargraphics is another guy who was very vocal about Terrahash. He's kind of a loudmouth. Personally, I found him amusing, but several people took him way serious, and now it seems he's killing his old posts. I dunno what to think of that.

Some people in this thread have been very vocal about KnC but they have no reason to do that. Nasty business that TH thing. Worse if it gets in the media and twisted all over the place.

I think we might actually start to see Petahash devices by next year....if this keeps going. Well probably not. Physics starts to get into the way. 20 and 14nm are prohibitively expensive and probably will be for 2 years. 28nm is probably as good as it gets. It remains to be see how efficient 28nm tech can be made but it is interesting that Cointerra and HF have roughly the same die density (GH/mm2) and roughly the same efficiency (J/GH). For the record BFL claims similar but I don't put too much stock into it. Still the odds that two teams with reasonable industry talent would achieve roughly the same performance and miss something obvious for higher efficiency is unlikely. So no 14/20nm and pretty reasonable that any other future offerings will be ~0.8 J/GH (say +/- 50%). That means even if the chips are free 1 PH/s is going to be expensive. Converting, regulating and routing 800 KW isn't cheap and neither is getting rid of the 800 KW of heat it produces, even with refrigeration. 800 KW = >220 tons of AC.

its also fair to say current designs and the selected process nodes are more likely geared for performance/mm² (per $) than power efficiency. Not that I expect an order of magnitude difference, but more than doubling efficiency at the expense of performance per mm² or $ might not be out of reach with downclocking/volting and a LP process Maybe even a redesign if that would be worth it.

For anyone interested to know why the thread lost so many pages, I am certainly sure is because Bargraphics deleted more than a thousand posts from his profile: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=124940Name: Bargraphics Posts: 62 Activity: 62 Position: Full Member Date Registered: May 31, 2013, 08:22:07 PM Last Active: Today at 06:35:38 PM Local Time: September 26, 2013, 02:36:16 PM Trust: 0: -0 / +0(0)
Ahhh, he must have sold his account. Wow I did not know of the huge resale value of bitcointalk.org accounts ... I guess when they are new & free they are not worth anything ...but after they have got a few posts under their belt thats when the $$ & offers start flooding in to sell your identity It all makes sense

Oh, cloudhashing (big knc customer) has in its FAQ stated If I buy a contract today, when do I start mining ?
We expect mining for September contracts to start by 26th September 2013. There may be a 1 to 2 week delay, however everything is on schedule for the date mentioned,
but on the other hand the timer in the head banner shows September Contract Mining Scheduled To Start Within (British Standard Time): 4 Days 12Hours 39 Minutes 34Seconds
now it's 26th, 21:40 BST meaning => count down ends ~ on Oct. 1st 10:20 a.m. GMT+1

I've deleted my posts before. I've had more than 4x current. Reason? Privacy. I just don't like people to read my history. it's the same on Reddit (deleted after 2 weeks). No it doesnt make me a scammer I agree. From USNWR: Every time you go to post a status update, remember: WWMBT? (What Would My Boss Think?): http://ow.ly/pcFO7Annoyed at a microwave that had stopped working properly I had posted that I got it working again by running the touchpad over the edge of something as one might do with a bill before putting the bill in a machine. The microwave worked for a while. Some years later I did a search to see what I'd find about myself online and there was that post relayed to a number of forums. Still there somewhere today, couldn't get it to go away.

I guess when they are new & free they are not worth anything ...but after they have got a few posts under their belt thats when the $$ & offers start flooding in to sell your identity It all makes sense That is what makes the situation strange... If Bargraphics sold his account on the basis that posts are the main value of his account, why would he or the new owner erase the posts and reduce the account value to almost a newbie level? I think would be cheaper to create a new account and produce 60 posts or buy an account from someone with almost 60 posts. I think Bargraphics is really trying to cover up his association not only with Terrahash, but with KnCminer as well.

Don't you need to believe they'll do what they say to be a fan? The refund backpedal / broken promise alone would cast doubt in a sensible mind.

Agreed. Also Bitfury might also be able to get to ~0.4 J/GH with a die shrink to 28nm as they have very impressive specs for 55nm. Still anything outside the realm of a magnitude or more in efficiency improvement means that 1 PH/s is going to consume an insane amount of power. Cut the 800KW in half, even 400KW is still 1,700 amps @ 240V. Then remember energy in = energy out. Most people don't think about heat in KW but 400KW is 1.4 million BTU/hr. To put that number an average size furnace is 60K to 80K BTU/hr. We are talking about something like this for cooling.

I guess when they are new & free they are not worth anything ...but after they have got a few posts under their belt thats when the $$ & offers start flooding in to sell your identity It all makes sense LOL Last night, I saw someone wanting to purchase old blackhatworld forum memberships as I surfed about the webz. With the amount of scamming in this arena, that was the first thing that came to mind with bargraphics... Then someone supposedly said he just admitted that he bought the account via PM. If bargraphics was a Terrahash plant, it makes sense that he would sell his account if he could, to some dumbass looking to scam others. Shit, some of these 'hero' members with activity of 420 make me wonder if the same doesn't occur on a somewhat regular basis. Some 'hero' a hundred or so pages ago asked the absolutely most basic questions regarding bitcoin. I can't recall exactly, but I remember saying to myself "How the FUCK does this guy have more than 2 days on this forum, much less 2 years?" Yep... Scammers to the left of me, douchebags to the right. Here I am, stuck in the middle with you... Look at that douchebag scamming fuckhead ragingazn. He tried to fuck people out of dozens of KnC miners... as well as nearly BTC800 in Avalon chips in two Group Buys. Thankfully Yifu showed him who the bigger dickhead was and fucked the entire DIY industry. BFL_Josh, Jody, Engineer, Sonny... long list of scammers there in only one company! I stand by my hunch.

I don't imagine they invited Bitcoinorama to Sweden for nothing.

And Saturday and Sunday, or do you live in a parallel dimension that doesn't have weekends? They worked weekends building the data centre, you can be sure they will for production too.
