Incidentally, on today's What Bitcoin Did podcast, host Dr Perter McCormack revealed that he did not know that Lightning does not use trustless payments when these txs are of a value below that of the cost of posting a channel closing tx.

Yes, this is the same issue BitUsher raised above.

It is not so much that LN has limitations. It is that any attempt to raise a discussion on these limitations is immediately shouted down. Mostly by people completely ignorant that these issues even exist.

You might want to ask yourself how confident you are in your knowledge that the technical design of LN is bulletproof. I'm not calling on you to post the results of this self-examination. Just be honest with yourself.

I don't think it too much to ask.

Bitfury Institutional Bitcoin Mining Fund Gains EU Regulator Approval

Quote
Blockchain tech giant Bitfury has partnered with a Swiss investment firm to release a dedicated bitcoin mining fund for institutional investors, executives confirmed on Twitter on April 24.

Bitfury, which develops various blockchain-related software along with mining services, confirmed that Final Frontier, in which it holds a minority stake, had gained regulatory approval for the fund from neighboring Liechtenstein.

Altcoins are droping even more than bitcoin and bitcoin dominance is rising. In my unprofessional opinion we will see money flowing back to bitcoin soon. The rocket is just fueling up.

All part of the process, nothing to worry about.

The end result for us WO gentlemen is the same.

As you guys know (or should) I always keep an eye on www.coinatmradar.com to see how it grows.

For the past few months there wasn't any interesting thing to comment but now that has changed: For the past week the average of new ATM installations has reached a whooping *11* a day.

https://coinatmradar.com/charts/gauge/

It's like the rate has suddenly double/trippled in comparison to the past months/year.

Is there anyone here other than Mr. Toronto who actually uses these things? They seem weirdly quaint an idea to me. Literally everywhere else will give you a better rate on average.

I don't, but probably "normies" do... so that's adoption. I prefer the rates of exchanges because I don't care using banks, KYC and all that shit.

Also the rates on some are very reasonable and overall seem to be lowering the fees on average due to increasing competition. So all is cool.

On my next holiday to Vegas I do plan to use them and try to support all my cash expenses from it. This year I won't be going, hope summer 2020 has a good enough price so that I don't care withdrawing some..... Just saving on the exchange rate from euro to usd would probably compensate it.

The rise of "slashies" (people with multiple part time jobs).
https://www.bbc.com/news/business-47984295

I was one a couple of years back.
It's BS that most people like it. Basically, it is a rat race which in US is exacerbated by the absence of benefits (so you have to pay extra for them).
A full time job and a hobby (even involved hobby) is better, IMHO.
I wonder how crypto/btc will fit into this trend.

PS man city scores...foooook!

I guess this is why the price is falling from $5.6k suddenly since yesterday.
No wonder none of the altcoins rose up in price at the same time as btc did which I found odd in the first place. Undecided

Created tether means it can be used to buy BTC or other coins on exchanges that accept tether.
