Battle to go sub 5k right now

Yeah it looked like it fell off a cliff from $5140 all the way to under $5000 there for a minute. Embarrassed

Yeah I was watching on Stamp, literally went to $5,000.00

Somebody didn’t want it to break $5,000
According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Looks like CSW is pissed and dumping everything in a fit of rage

How many bitcoin’s do we think he has left - Bullpark figure?

That's the million BTC question.  Somewhere between 0 and a shitload.

I play poker... the things about playing against someone who is loose/aggressive (lies a lot and throws money around) is they are very hard to read.  It's a very difficult style to be a winner at too, and IMHO CSW is not on the winning side. But hard to say what he has.  He has said it's a lot.  But he has also made up a LOT of stuff.

My personal guess is that he has more than me & most people here but I don’t think he (as in himself, personally) has anywhere near enough coins to move the market.

I don’t know if he has people with very deep pockets backing him but he doesn’t act like somebody who is uber rich himself. He acts like a con man, everything he does reeks of desperation to me.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s broke & forced into bankruptct in the next few years.

I reckon they're going to open or buy their own exchange and pump the living shit out of it. Interested to see what platforms it remains on. Shapeshift are getting rid too.

What he has been doing has been obvious to me (I think) and this supports it.  He has been trying to make "bitcoin" something that the state and the CBs could embrace.

Question: Would you prefer to prohibit any state actor from participating in Bitcoin?

Followup: If answer to above is 'yes', how do you square this with the mutually-exclusive attribute of 'permissionless'?
I differentiate between participation and taking over control, which is what was suggested during a Coingeek conference in which the blights of society were supposed to get sufficient tools to keep doing what they have been in a more efficient manner.
This could also be the issue on which CSW and Roger parted and to some extent why I don't have any hard feelings against him. CSW clearly cares about nothing worth caring about, unlike Roger (anti-establishment).

If Roger hadn't teamed up with CSW and Bitmain (phony hash war) I might've very well been persuaded to at least keep sensible portions of both chains in cold storage.

Roger isn't much better than Craig. He is a fucking opportunist. (one of the most disgusting) He allied with Craig when his actions were benefiting his agenda and he didn't say a word against Craig till the last second before BcashSV and BcashABC were decoupled.

He used or tried to use Craig just like he tried to use Bitcoin. Bitcoin was good when it was benefiting his own agenda but it became super bad when the devs didn't act and do what he proposed.

How is he different than Craig?

Craig is following exactly the same route as Roger except he is too obvious about what he is doing. (lying) Roger is also a two faced sociopath who's going to say whatever lie to get what he wants. (less obvious, but still obvious)

Both of them are disgusting piece of shits but If I had to choose one, I would choose Craig just because he is a fucking clown and unlike him Roger has a slight chance to succeed, which is scary.

Fuck both of them in the end. Btw Bought more BTC today from $5.2k.  Cheesy

I refuse to accept that this down move is anything related to CSW or Ver themselves.
I dont think they have the power to move the market.

If they happened to sell their BTCs.. good for us and whoever bought them.

This is less than an hour old.

 Statement from Chad Elwartowski:

PLEASE SHARE THIS POST OUR LIVES DEPEND ON IT

This is ridiculous. We lived on a floating house boat for a few weeks and now Thailand wants us killed.

We had to go underground because our contact warned us before this came out. Now we found out they are using a US submarine to hunt us. I'll say it right here.

Nadia and I did not design, construct or pay to have the seastead constructed. We promoted it and lived on it. We helped out by giving the builder updates and we participated in the launch. We did not decide where to put the seastead. We are enthusiastic supporters of the project who were lucky enough to be the first ones to stay on it.

Hunting us down to our death is just plain stupid and highlights exactly the reason someone would be willing to go out in middle of the ocean to get away from governments.

We never had any ill intentions and I even state plainly several times that I would not want to be a citizen of any seastead nation that would have me. We were hoping to bring tourism to Phuket with an underwater restaurant, floating hotels and medical research, tech jobs, etc. We had 3 wealthy entrepreneurs in the past week tell us they were coming to live in Phuket because they were excited about the project. We love Thailand. Nadia is a proud Thai. She is a proud Buddhist who does not support violence. I am a pacifist who would not harm a fly.

What we need:

Lawyers or anyone high up in the administration in Thailand to talk some sense into your military leaders.

Someone high up in the US that can help. I need to be able to go to the US embassy in Bangkok or some place near Phuket to get me out of the country. I need ideas for helping Nadia, a Thai citizen. She needs an embassy in Bangkok where she can seek asylum.

Nadia is just my girlfriend. She played no role in planning anything with the seastead. She just took video and stayed on the seastead with me. E-mail me at elwartowski@protonmail . com if you can help (not just suggestions...serious help).

Neither Nadia nor I are suicidal. We would never in our wildest dreams commit suicide. I want to live to the ripe age of at least 200. I love life. We love life together. We just wanted to be free. If just for one day.

Fellow Binancians,

At Binance, we periodically review each digital asset we list to ensure that it continues to meet the high level of standard we expect. When a coin or token no longer meets this standard, or the industry changes, we conduct a more in-depth review and potentially delist it. We believe this best protects all of our users.

When we conduct these reviews, we consider a variety of factors. Here are some that drive whether we decide to delist a digital asset:

Commitment of team to project
Level and quality of development activity
Network / smart contract stability
Level of public communication
Responsiveness to our periodic due diligence requests
Evidence of unethical / fraudulent conduct
Contribution to a healthy and sustainable crypto ecosystem
Based on our most recent reviews, we have decided to delist and cease trading on all trading pairs for the following coin on 2019/04/22 at 10:00 AM UTC:

Bitcoin SV (BCHSV)
Please note:

All trade orders will be automatically removed after trading ceases in each respective trading pair.
To view your assets after trading ceases, please ensure you have not selected “Hide small assets” in your Funds page.
Withdrawals of these coins and tokens from Binance will continue to be supported until 2019/07/22 at 10:00 AM UTC.
We thank you for your support as we continue to build the crypto ecosystem in a way that promotes transparency and long-term, sustainable growth.

Official Statement about the sinking of the first seastead

Quote
Official Statement about the sinking of the first seastead
April 15, 2019by Media Relations

We at Ocean Builders would first like to thank all of the people who have sent their support and help. We do appreciate it.

It has been reported that the first seastead, XLII, has been or is in the process of being demolished by the Thai navy. It is also being reported that our first residents, Chad Elwartowski and Nadia Summergirl are being held responsible for building the seastead and putting it in its current location.

Nothing could be further from the truth. Chad and Nadia were volunteers excited about the prospect of living free. They took pictures and videos of the whole process and posted it on social media. They spent a few weeks on the seastead and documented their adventure.
They were in no way involved in the design,

construction, decision on where it was locatd or any funding for the construction of the seastead. If you read the Reason article that describes the seastead accurately writes the facts:
” The team surrounding the project were early adopters of bitcoin, and with wealth acquired that way it has spent around $150,000 on the project “
Other news articles took this to mean that Chad Elwartowski funded the project because he was also an early adopter of bitcoin. Chad did not spend any of his own money on the project other than perhaps some sheets for the bed and he brought all of his own dishware when he moved in.

Chad and Nadia are safe for now but understand that Thailand is currently being run by a military dictator. There will be no trial if they are caught. They already demonstrated that by being judge jury and executioner of the historic very first seastead.

The reason Thailand was chosen was due to the large amount of tourism, its relatively calm seas and also because all of those involved love the Thai people and their culture.

It is claimed by the Thai navy through their media mouth pieces that the seastead is in a shipping lane. This makes it sound like there is heavy cargo traffic coming to Phuket. If anyone knows Phuket, they have one cargo port that gets maybe one or two cargo ships a week. They also admit that the seastead is in international waters, at least 12 nautical miles from land. This would infer that they are 12 nautical miles from land on either side of the seastead which would put the shipping lane at at least 24 nautical miles. The seastead is 6 meters wide. It has a very bright anchor beacon and has a registered AIS beacon which can be detected by any boat with any sort of navigation in the vicinity.

The area is a heavy fishing area with many many fishing boats trawling the water there daily. The fishing boat captains used to wave at Nadia and Chad as they passed by. They were in no way bothered by the floating home. The seastead takes up less space in the shipping lane than a fishing boat.

Needless to say. This event has doubled down our efforts and we can all clearly see that seasteading needs to happen now as tyranny creeps ever more deeply into our governments to the point that they are willing to hunt down a couple of residents residing in a floating house in middle of nowhere.

We hope this issue can be resolved diplomatically with the Thai government and are ready to talk to anyone in charge at any time. We have tried several times to talk to anyone but were always told that we have nothing to worry about because we are legally in international waters.

The April 15th sale of seasteads is to be postponed until we can get everything straightened out and figure out the best path forward for everyone.

The battle will be won in the publics eye. Stay focused. Stay strong.

Thoughts and prayers are with you guys.

----------

Satoshi clearly knew and understood that because Bitcoin is open source and anyone can clone or fork Bitcoin, and anyone can create unlimited number of new coins at will, then the dominance of one form of digital open source money/Gold 2.0 would be decided in the court of public opinion. Not through censorship of Bitcoin's competitors.

So it all comes down to belief/popularity contest of what form of open source digital money should be dominant, with participants basing reason to purchase and use based on sum total of philosophy/moral/ethical/guiding principles, intent of dev team, attributes (security, decentralization, etc., etc.), and growth through usage (via popularity with exchanges, brokers, users, merchants, investors, etc).

And yes BSV is a scam and Craig Wright is a fraud. But that is for the public to decide.

Good morning hodlers.

Much data to process this morning as there are several stories happening that are worth following.

Observers have been on top of the situation and are sending in a steady stream of reports from valiant seasteaders to shady fraudsters.  I will just stress this one point...do your own research.

Walking atop the Wall is a great honor but we are all mere mortals...and as such subject to mortal flaws. The true hodler trusts, but verifies. That is all.

----------

Bitcoin is experiencing some volatility this morning as word spreads about a possible BSV de listing by some major exchanges. People are dumping shitcoins left and right as FUD spreads across the community.

Some of this expected turbulence may also be due to the end of tax season in the US as I have previously mentioned. Last minute filing for many businesses and individuals is the norm here in the states.

Looks like some much needed consolidations happening along the 0.236 if you ask me.

Buy the dips.

Bitcoin at $5K is as much of a joke as when a bitcoin was $500. At this stage I lost all reservations, after 10 years and continuous development it is not ‘just an experiment’ anymore.

Elwar and others can leave the country without being robbed from their life savings, that is just one of the killer apps right there. I support the Elwars by holding.

The required reply when anyone tries to tell you any of the following:

1. Bitcoin is going to crash to zero

2. BCH is the real Bitcoin

3. Craig Wright is the real Satoshi

4. X/Y/Z shitcoin will supersede Bitcoin

5. China bans Bitcoin

6. Governments will outlaw Bitcoin

7. Bitcoin mining is unsustainable and consumes too much energy
