bad actors have always attempted to derail this thread, it is the beacon for bitcoin freedom so they scat all over it to scare away the noobs into fakecoin scams or until they can fill their bags ... they have varying levels of success, roach and bitunlocker are doing ok by notlambchop standards
LOL, nice lying there Marcus. Bitunlocker is a fucking JIDF shill telling people we need to bomb Iran and I'm obviously not. I'm one of the few honest people in this entire thread that tells the truth about what bitcoin is, how it's designed to centralize, functions as a non-fungible, permissioned ledger in practice, and doesn't have any fundamentals compared to physical silver and gold. You are the real lying shill who tries to derail people from learning about these issues and failures of bitcoin while pretending bitcoin actually has a reason to exist at all the day after the first ASIC was created. It doesn't. Bitcoin was a failure ever since that day. You just sit here and lie to people 24 hours a day to try and run pump and dumps to line your pockets with shekels. You are the Judas trying to sell out humanity into a designed to centralize, govt tracking grid, cashless society slave system for personal gain when much better alternatives have already existed for thousands of years (silver and gold) that don't wind up with all humans being enslaved. You're either an extremely selfish person, a paid shill, or not as smart as you think you are if you think Bitcoin is exempt from the Kaczynski rule.

I've seen this dumb meme a lot lately of "why do taxes exist when they can just print?". Probably because chance of hyperinflation would be 10x higher, duh? Did you people just fall off a turnip truck? That and they want precedent for extracting from you when they're inevitably forced to go back to sound money (physical silver and gold).
We both agree that the current system will eventually be replaced by something that is based on sound money (after all fiat money is the historical anomaly). I´m not one of these hardcore libertarians, who is dreaming of a world without any taxes. I just happen to disagree with the current level of taxation in my own country (I live in one of the European countries, that is rather wealthy for now, but has a ridiculously high level of taxation) and most other countries. There is this weird phenomenon where the state grows continously, but never shrinks. This obviously leads to an ever-growing demand for more money where the state needs to extract more money using taxation and a growing deficit. If your politicians also follow a ridiculously stupid immigration policy, which exacerbates the whole situation even more by introducing hundreds of thousands of people, who won´t be living off productive work but off government transfers the outlook is pretty grim (you are probably able to guess my country right now ).

The immigration numbers suggest it's Germany, the rest could be almost any EU country.

I touched upon this briefly before, how if something is making you cringe or feel bad..it probably is. There is a quote by Zechariah Chafee, pretty sure I will mangle it but goes something like this.."Your right's to free speech end at my nose". I think many of you would be surprised at my background and political leanings but I try not to bring those to the front in posts about the Wall. I do not always succeed and I apologize for any off topic-ness that is unwelcome.
That being said...there is a very defined line in my moral compass and it has been tested by some of the posts here. I will walk out farther upon shaky ground. I actually appreciate some of the bug's post about PM's. It is always refreshing to hear a contrarian view point no matter how dogmatic it may be. However, when those post's turn towards Nazism and advocating genocide I have to say a very loud NO! This is not right and nor should it be accepted anywhere in a rational society. This is the last time I will broach this subject. I think infofront does a pretty good job at moderating this thread..I would like to see that continue. Define bad. r's and K's have opposed values. What is bad for one of them is the highest good for the other. Which is why it is so vital for everyone to understand how it works. Because if we don't, then we can't find a better solution than gassing jews, and then we will end up gassing jews again.

You would think sometimes, that Theymos and Co, encourage them to be here to spout all that vitriol & FUD.

I have a sneaking suspicion most of Q2 is going to be boring AF, with mostly sideways action. ...
I expect the same, because there are too many parties that are incentivized to keep Bitcoin above the average cost of mining a single Bitcoin. Therefore the downside risk from the current price level is minimal. Of course it is possible that some miners try to bankrupt their competitors by driving the price lower and mining at a loss for a while, but if a situation like that would occur it would only be temporary anyway. The upside potential is probably limited too for now after the parabolic rise at the end of 2017. Other developments like the decay of the major altcoins and the upcoming block reward halving in 2020 will drive the BTC price to new highs again. I personally intend to withdraw all my personal investments that are not in Bitcoin right now during 2018 and commit 100 % of my investment portfolio to Bitcoin going forward. Therefore I would actually be pretty content if the price would remain below 10k $ for a few more months until I get that sorted out. Why would I want to keep savings in fiat when any potential gains are inflated away anyway... https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DbAVPWWUwAAuJnV.jpg price suppression will limit the excitement for much longer, slow gains

except verge In last 24 hours, out of top 100 coins (according to market cap), only six are red. Three of them are scams, one is Tether, and two are those which have been massively over-valued in the past few days. Same stats even if last seven days are considered. It's always awesome to see Tether in dark bloody red though.

Guys already predicting ATH even though all these major weekly indicators have just gone down and it broke out from a really weak spot without any kind of pinbar. Yes the breakout was strong but it's probably just at best a mid-2014 style bull trap that would go to 13K at the highest.

U.S. treasury yield curve has flattened to lowest spread in a decade. On track to invert within 6 months. Usually market crash and recession follow 12 months after that.
Will history repeat?
What do you all think that Bitcoin will do in such an event? Epic rise or epic crash?

Global warming? Global warming!
Did you know that spiders don't breathe? They don't have lungs. Instead oxygen simply seeps into holes in their bodies. And as we all know, the atmosphere was denser in older times - denser atmosphere, more co2, more oxygen, bigger bugs. Also dinosaurs. There were dragonflies so big they could have eaten humans, if we had existed back then.
co2 is not a pollutant. On the contrary, it is plant food. Plants take in co2 from the atmosphere and excrete o2, oxygen, the thing we need to live. You may have heard of it. It is the very foundation of the entire food chain.
More co2 means more plants means more oxygen means more animals means more life. It is a Good Thing. In addition, warmer weather is better than colder weather. More people freeze to death than die from heat. So go on, burn some oil. Do your part to improve the world.

Bbut... but.. my next car will be all electric. My next house will have 10Kwh solar panels, with charging station. All my tools will be rechargeable. The only gas I will burn will be in my fun antique cars that see little use except for weekends. EROI of oil is slowly dying. Mass adoption of all electric vehicles will help kill it.
