Pretty much Yefi confirmed that he did not have any information to really substantiate what he was suggesting.

I think that the official story is quite plausible in this situation, which was that Adam left and Admin was having some difficulties managing the thread and complaints and reports.  Initially, theymos took an easy route of closing the thread, but thereafter reconsidered his decision after there were reasonable proposals including the election of a new thread owner (which ended up becoming Infofront - through popular demand).

Personally, the way that it worked out, I think that it was overkill to remove signatures from this thread, and I doubt that the dynamic of the thread would be changed too much by allowing signatures, here.  Also, infofront's relative hands off (but a bit of hands on from time to time) does seem to have caused the thread to continue, even better than when Adam was here.. because sometimes Adam became part of the problem - especially once he became more jaded by some of the BIG blocker nonsense and seemingly largely made up conspiracies about this forum embarking in too much supposed "censorship."

As far as I can tell, what micpeep(bot) says seems accurate that he was NOT involved in the forum on or before the reopening of the WO thread and the then discussions around transition of the thread ownership to infofront.

If he uses it he can probably never reuse his old avatar here again. It's an animated gif, and those got banned because they introduce a security vulnerability into the forum. Old users who already had them were allowed to keep them, but the forum won't let you add one now.

Sharp down, then flat, then sharp down just before turning around and going from split adjusted $0.9 to $230 in the next 15 years.
If $6500 was our flat and $4035 was our sharp down, then, perhaps, blue skies straight ahead.

To overlay fundamentals on a chart: in 2003, Wall street knew that Apple is about to introduce iTunes (since Apple was negotiating licenses).
They pushed the stock down under false rumors that Apple would bid for Disney, which was, of course, bogus (watch that volume when false rumors spread).
It gave them a 10-15% discount.

Back to Nov 2018, lots of negative info was actively planted in the last couple of weeks while someone got $1bil of btc accumulated in a new wallet (posted on interwebs somewhere).
I would not be surprised if someone was seeking similar (or higher) discount before turning around and pushing btc upward HARD.

Chart indicates 2 shakeouts before the pump, then price returns to the average of the bottom of the 1st and 2nd shakeout.  So bitcoin around $4200 incoming.  Probably won't happen till after Martin Looter Coon day.

I don't want people to take my post the wrong way that I somehow believe bitcoin is a good buy now.  The general public is neither capable or interested in buying $4000-$20,000 imaginary, valueless shitcoins.  Like I said the other day with the current oil chart, oil taking a flying nosedive off a cliff indicates extreme liquidity crunch/deflationary collapse, so no speculative assets like bitcoin should stand a chance in hell against that.  The only way bitcoin is getting pumped now is either through more Bitfinex fraud (which is always a possibility), or govt unleashing a bunch of money with QE4 or something.

I'm not lying.  How many articles of "90% of the general public can no longer afford to write a $500 check" do we need to see to know it's impossible for the general public to pump this garbage?  Sure, the Winklevoss or someone can send all their illiquid asset tokens to Bitfinex then use it as collateral to margin leverage the price higher, but then you're back to square one of who is the greater fool they can dump on? 

The only real possibilities for a price pump seem to involve either fraud from people running Bitfinex, a random bitcoin whale using his coins as margin collateral for temporary financial trickery before it collapses again, or something like the govt itself pumping shitcoins to try and use it as a bait and switch for a cashless society slave system.

The mempool seems to be clearing finally. Most everyone’s coins should be available on exchanges now. Perhaps a sign the near term pain is over?
