OK, if the previous savings are in multisig+escrow and you own a sufficient fraction of the signatures (half or more). As long as he shows actual possession of his own signatures. By signing a scan of his own passport or something with them.

You don't want the guy ruined though, so hold back on the amounts.

What could go wrong? Guy is clearly 100% legit. After all, we have his word, and what could possibly provide us with more trust than the word of a stranger who boasts a trading strategy yielding 30,000% more bitcoin after just five years? (1.1^(5*12))

As Marcus mentioned, we are now at or approaching positive ROI for mining again. Seems good to me. I think we will see the price consolidate in this range for the next few days or so.
