Helpful hat on:

When in doubt, check trust pages for bidirectional neutral feedback linking the accounts.  And if you set up a not-as-secure alt for use on less-trusted devices, then you should do that, too!

Cf.:

  • theymos_away (theymosnot confirmed with bidirectional neutrals on the accounts’ trust pages; naughty Thermos!)
  • LoyceMobile (LoyceV)
  • Probably bunches of others.  Tracking this stuff is not my department.

It is customary that such accounts should not be trusted for trading, or when significant damage could be otherwise caused by an account hack.

Nothing. I'm away from home for a bit.

how many merits do you need for next step?

Is full member 50 or 100?

Full member is 100 merit (and 120 activity)

But please don't lavish 'em on this account. I mean I'd like a hat and all, but there's no rush.

Surely, I will try to hold my precious sMerits.  But at the rate that you earn merits, I would not be surprised to see this account on some little list someday.  ;-)

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Matt Corallo Roll Eyes turned the fibre network off. Now we getting more stale blocks, leading to more centralisation of mining.

The former public demo FIBRE network is no longer operational.

edit: believe there's some solutions proffered at the end of this pod, but haven't listened yet https://anchor.fm/tales-from-the-crypt/episodes/Rabbit-Hole-Recap-Week-of-2020-11-09-emdcr7

Matt Corallo Roll Eyes turned the fibre network off.

WTF!?!?

Aside, I wonder if this will affect development of Blockstream Satellite, which relies on bits from that project under the hood.

Now we getting more stale blocks, leading to more centralisation of mining.

Just at the moment when we are getting what looks like Mike Hearn’s wet dream of a blacklisting/KYC mining pool, too.

Check this out:
https://www.bloomberg.com/graphics/2020-global-economic-forecast-2050/

I say that it is bulls--t. The same type of projections were published in the 60ies and 70ies about USSR and the East block.
The bottom line is command-and-control economy cannot function for long periods of time.
As Xi grows more authoritarian, China economy will slow down, then go into a crisis a la USSR.
However, US better get at least another 150-200mil people in (or born) by 2050 to match the EU.

For anyone interested in Roger Ver's "miner tax" hard fork fail today, it's currently not going well: https://cash.coin.dance/blocks/hashrate

1.36 EH/s (86%) vs 0.22 EH/s (14%). BCHA is currently trading at 0.05 (5%) of BCH and 39 blocks behind as only mined 3 blocks compared to BCHN's 42. Ouch.

I think this will be remember as "The fork that nobody cared about"

note pulled info from here

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=138109.msg55488187#msg55488187

as I noted in an earlier post
 { https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178336.msg55491561#msg55491561 }

the  best streak of above 12,584

was from 2017-12-06 to 2018-01-15  that was 41 days

so 26 down and 15 to go.

This will be a really nice streak to break.

If we stay hot we break the streak on Dec. 2, 2020

so 2020-12-02 here we come.

We also are developing a second streak Nov 1 on is above 13545

we have never had a full month from day one stay above 13000. I for one want to see both things happen.

and we are unfolding a third streak more on that later."

I am quoting and altering my post from yesterday.

I want to talk about the third streak that is opening up.  BTC never had 12 days in a row over 15000

Below is the longest 15k+ streak

2017-12-21  16,033
2017-12-20  16,724
2017-12-19  17,986
2017-12-18  18,634
2017-12-17  19,110
2017-12-16  18,430
2017-12-15  17,334
2017-12-14  16,351
2017-12-13  16,434
2017-12-12  16,854
2017-12-11  16,293.    11 days in a row.

note I get all my stats from the following thread.  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=138109.msg1472141#msg1472141

I have been using his data to show these streaks.

So we have 3 streaks going

1) 12854 +. is at 23 days and closing in on the 41 day streak from dec 2017 to jan 2018

2) we have a 7 day 15000+ streak closing in on the 11 day streak from dec 11 2017  to dec 21 2017

3) and our Nov 1 to Nov 15 streak above 13000 is  tied with the  longest streak from the beginning of the month above 13000. Jan 1 2018 to Jan 15 2018 is also first place.

I will get back to this at night.  We need to keep this up!

So updates.

3) if we stay over 13000 until Nov 16 we break the best beginning steak ever for any month.       15 days is old record.   1 day to break this record.  we did tie it!!

2) We should stay over 15,000 by closing which will bring us to 10 in a row over 15k                     11 days is old record.   2 days to break this record

1) we have a 26 day streak over 12584. -----------------------------------------------------------  old record is 41 days.        15 days and counting

I assume hope we are good for the 15th and just kept it up.

So you are saying Monday we should all eat a steak and post a picture and then moon?  Smiley

I am planning to cook skirt steaks for sunday when we tie the streak. Monday when we break the streak/steak I will be making brisket with potatos and riced cauliflower.  With a vanilla vodka iced tea whipped cream float. Garnished with a bit of flaked chocolate on top.

We just need 2 days I will photo the dinner just for you as your streak/steak post was funny.

Just sitting down to my skirt steak dinner. MMMM.

And  we did tie the day 1 of the month streak over 13,000 today yeah btc!

O.k.

I think that I understand the two new bcashes, now.

The BCHN version on the coindance website is the one that keeps the mining without the extra mining tax...   So more or less the original chain.

The ABC version is the one that wanted to create an 8% mining tax... and looks like no one, not even miners, want to mine a chain in which they get 8% more because 8% more of zero is not going to be as good as 0% more of something.

What a world.

What a world.
