I pull 900-920 but OC them to 580mh.

They probably could do more, but I don't want the chip temperature to go above 65°C.  But they run stable for almost 3 months on OC now. The first couple month were stock

What chip frequency do you clock it to? Stock is 384MHz

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

My first L3+ arrived today.  Fedex got it to me on time despite a 18 inch snow storm .

So I hook it up to an  antminer apw psu I down clock set fans to 40%

and I get a nice 450mh using 725 watts at the meter

impressed with power use.

I have 5 more on order.
going to solo mine  so the 450mh with lower sound and lower power works for me

Still doing some speed tweaks to mine. Trying to find the Frequency / Power sweat spot.
I just found out that 3 that came together off the same power supply can vary a lot.
As in 4% less power at the same frequency.
Going to leave each one on the test bench for a few days to see if it maintains that. 30 Watts is not a lot but it all counts.

I'd say what is my 'thumb rule' with almost all asics, below 90C to avoid miner failure and below 80C for longer life time.

okay then at  the under clock my gear is great.

I should have ordered these sooner.

6 of them is only 6 x 725 = 4350 watts

at the underclock  of freq 344

fans set to 35%  running at 2,640 and 3,540  this is bearable.

I can run six of them on a single  30 amp pdu  as 24 x 240 = 5760 watts  and I will be at 4350 watts

Why would you underclock them, if they are very stable OC?

I run mine on 580-590mh for months without a problem so far. Just saying, temps are under 65°C, Fan speed 95% or so, nothing to complain about Smiley

Maybe for better power efficiency and/or lower ambient temperature it is worth to underclock it.
I have mine running in a tiny room and ambient temperature rises quickly, which in turns rises the temperatures of the miner.
At stock frequency I had around 70-75 degrees for the highest temp Chip, which while it is under 80 it is not good for its life time.
Now I underclocked at 350 where I also get around 455Mh/s and the highest chip temp is around 60-65.
Fans set at 3300rpm (wont go higher because of noise).

well fire sale on bitmain L3+'s...

I figure with shipping at the $1270....so I figure shipping and customs...call it $1,400 (is that high?)

-$200 buck coupon

$1,200 in that I'm at 50% tax rate (41% with state taxes, soc sec, etc...other 9% I set aside for health insurance..deductable as self-employed ..ie mining)

that makes it $600 in real $$$ not set aside for the tax man and above...

with 25% equip deduction off taxes I know I will pay this year (real $$$ to tax man needed for this....you don't pay in . it don't work)

so $600 -$300 equip deduction off taxes 2018 = $300 is my REAL gamble in $$$ for getting one of these.....hmmmmm

still don't see it as worthwhile..using crypto to purchase...but maybe if I sold some crapy stuff I may die with, that is in the attic, for fiat...it COULD be worth it on a price pump of LTC

because I'm bored and want equipment...

hmmmm..... pondering.....sleeping with the devil (bimain again)

naw...unless I sell some crap maybe..that I likely will die with anyway..from the attic....for those that are getting these...holding crypto (LTC) or not....we need a price pump to keep these

beasties going

past units or future units.....that's the hope anyway...price pump or doorstops by August 2018 is what I figure....hmmmmm

of course being bitmain..and having a 'fire sale' and 'coupons' they likely know something we don't.....(its a trap!)

Bitmain: It is always a trap! (tm bitmain)

hmmmmm

I have no Balls.....however...I know a guy who has too many (just got them) ...unsure what he paid...but with my 'ABOVE LOGIC' (previous above post on this thread)

maybe a 'hedge' for me is to take one off his hands (see previous post calculations) and a hedge for him, in that he may have too many

We are friends...MIGHT give ONE to me, for what he got them for...IF he sees the need for this 'hedge' from his direction

other than that ..it is Bitmain (thus a trap!)

(why do I feel this convoluted logic is simply my way to 'fall off the wagon' (in a small way) back into my ASIC Addiction?

on the other hand ....he is an 'optimistic sort' and got them (unlike me) ...so probably will tell me to 'p*ss off'

hmmmm

NOPE! (trying to resist temptation!)

On the other hand, the buddy I talk about above has them IN HAND and maybe I could get them more or less what he ordered
them for...I guess it depends on if he thinks he has too many (tummy hurts) and modestly wants to swap one out to me...

all very iffy....(again, I think it is me basically using 'flawed logic' to get an ASIC miner, due to my ASIC addiction...this is just a manner for someone to 'enable' my delusion....)

It is now even cheaper at 855, down from 1200. Those bought at 1200 thought they got a good deal. It would have been better to buy now. This is bad. It reminds me of the D3 again. No one wins at the end of this. The L3+ and S9 can be the new D3 if they keep doing this price lowering and flooding. Difficulty will go through the roof...
I hope our dear bitmain looks after previous buyers interests too. Pls dont over do it.

Selling 100 dollar coupons (8units expire 11th June, 14 units expire 1st july) and 125 dollar coupon (2 unit exp 30th June). Selling at 20% of value

Also have similar concerns...L3+ price keep dumping. Or maybe it just because of competition agains Innosilicon A4, A6 miners.

Probably Bitmain is going to release a new SCrypt miner by spring/summer. And this L3+ will be totally useless.

But don't forget that this is a SCRYPT miner and not an LTC only miner. You can make more money mining the right coin rather than leaving it on LTC only.

Innosilico is for sure a better deal now and more future proof.
