Do you think Bitcoin will survive after 100 year ?

I am asking this just to see the different opinions of Bitcoin community about its long term potential

I know Bitcoin is actually strong enough and stable as well

But what do you think about it after 100 years ?

Yes. Bitcoin position in my opinion like assets or investment portfolio than currency. Right now no many people will use bitcoin for small transaction that mean bitcoin not friendly enough to small scale entrepreneurs for sell their service because high transaction fees. In the past you can order pizza, a cup of coffee etc with bitcoin. But if transaction fees problem can be solved by Bitcoin Dev, I optimistic about future of bitcoin as mainstream currency.

yes thats the expectation of many users so i ithink that thing to to be come granted so bitcoin never dies and always stay at our sides bitcoin never say goodbye no matter what happen bitcoin after 100 years is still growing and rise for the next generation.

For this reason I say yes bitcoin will be around in 100 years. The only question is if it is still profitable for miners but I presume it will be, maybe somebody could clarify this.

It could still be profitable to miners. Some of the things I have read state that there will be so many people using and transacting with it that the fees will be really really low, but will make up for it.

It is also possible that if miners drop out or cannot profit the difficulty could go down.

100 years from now though I would Imagine BTC has Hardforked multiple more times and people are using different versions. I think they would just use the BC altcoins and use a service like shapeshift to conver if they need to buy someting from somewhere that doesn't take that BTC altcoin.

the interesting thing is that HF may be useful in decreasing network hashrate. If more and more hashrate goes into other BTC altcoin clones/Hardforks it would be interesting to see how that plays out.

First off, why would you think so far ahead. I mean 100 years is still so far ahead that whatever happenings that would probably take place in the moment in time, won't even have as small as a ripple on what is happening to us now. But to answer the question, I think it can survive, but with the support of the people and the continued dissemination of knowledge, and continued use and patronage of people. If all these factors would converge, it would contribute to the continued existence of bitcoin or cryptocurrency, in general.

What technology lasts a 100 years? In particular in times likes this, where technological development moves at light speed. Bitcoin will be long gone in a 100 years, but it very well might change the world and will then be replaced by something better.

Anything can happen in hundred years.Bitcoin is doing very well in the market.In the last nine years it has gained a lot of popularity and still its demand is increasing day to day.But still there are other cryptocurrencies and altcoins which are doing very well in the market and have a lot of capability.But people have faith in bitcoin so many invest in it and expect the price rise a lot.

I think the number will not only be 100 years. It have to be at least 500 years because Bitcoin is the currency of the future.

Bitcoin will last forever and people have given their decision by giving it popularity as well as a lot of fame bitcoin is heading toward to be declared as the global coin so that everyone can use it and people can trade in it and I think bitcoin will keep on giving people like past and the thing is bitcoin will never get old for people and they will never get bored of it and this thing is enough for the bitcoin to continue its flow.

In my opinion in 100 years bitcoin (as it is now) will not be here. The name "Bitcoin" will last forever, but in 100 years it will be a fork of today's chain.

That will be farout. But I would guess that another coin has already passed bitcoin as the leading cryptocurrency. Or maybe even countries have already used the blockchain to create their own versions. Really hard to say since by that time we won't really care.

I'm not sure, that's quite long to be honest. I do believe that Bitcoin will be more successful in the next years to come but Bitcoin's existence for that length of time is still questionable since it is not yet legal to most of the countries which means that it is not used by everyone as a currency which is a factor to consider on Bitcoin's lifespan.

I think bitcoin will not survive after 100 years because it's not impossible I think because we can also see how bitcoin fits as the future currency to be used by everyone in the world since it has been proving its credibility for a long time. Bitcoin might sooner be part of our living and we should always keep on supporting it no matter what so that we can benefit a lot in the future if ever it will survive.

Wow..for 100 yrs?well my opinion is . Hopefully the strong blast of bitcoin world  will survive for a 100yrs.. Our children or grand children will use it too as  well ..
Bitcoin will help their needs and provide for a good future.
