Phillip,
What ya mining lately with your gear.....
Ive been out of mining for over a month, before the hurricane i was using awesome miner on zec, but last few days on zec has been terrible since putting some of my gear back online.. had to replace a lot of equipment that was damaged from water damage.. many of the GPU's did well tho even getting wet, i have cobbled together some of them onto a few machines and they seem to be running fine, 1 gpu i have is running ok, its about 10-12% low on the hashrate on every algo i try on it, so i am guessing its been damaged somehow internally.
if you have sic's an s-9 or a avalon 741 I have been doing bcc vs btc if you have nvidia gpu's zec and skein profits are best with asic's at the moment.

hey phil, hope your having a good day.
was just wondering if the rigs that you deployed at your friends office are in cases? what case did you use? are they mining 24/7? are they used for office work? Are they all 3 card riser-less rigs? 2x1080ti blowers + 1x1070mini? what brand/models? are you using the cpus to mine xmr? are they all running windows 10?
can you share your settings for 1070 to get 425sols at 65% tdp?
how about settings for 1080ti to get 800sols at 80% tdp?

They mine 24/7 They run zec on smos and nothing else I built him a fourth rig for the office work mostly day trading I use rosewill stealth cases. In his office I run two card 1080 ti. I run smos in his office. I can not do 800 sols with any 1080 ti My zec settings are 150 plus core -500 memory 65 tdp 75 fan This gives my 1070s around 420

thanks phil.
you must have 1070s with default OC or really good chips? which brands/models do you have? all evga?
the best I could get with the settings you shared is 380-390sols. to get to 420-430, i need to bump up to 70% tdp then core: +240 mem:+650

I decided against the intake fan returned it and saved some $$ , even with just two fans going the 100 GPUs are super cool now
room temp is 60 degrees or so .
What I also noticed is with the door closed , the static pressure of two fans actually turns the third fan into an intake fan !!
So I figure if I seal the room completely I can get two fans to work as intakes anyways as needed and the remaining four as exhuast.
I can also now run another six fans as needed down the line for a total of 18000CFM exhuast.
I calculated that with even six fans and 9000CFM using the 400/CFM per ton calc thats almost equivalent to a 21TON AC at a fraction of the install and ussage cost.
If it gets bad in the summer even with 12 fans I can throw in an EVAP cooler , so I should be set to max out my 600AMP service now
Thanks all for the tips , especially Phill.
I will post final pics when we complete the install.
That's a nice setup you have there man, congrats and well done on all the hard work getting it setup. It sounds like you should be doing pretty well for cooling and airflow now. @Elder thanks , hopefully the documentation pics and tips from other folks like Phill et all help others who have the same issues with garage mining. Airflow is great right now but like they say in this mining game , summer is what separates the men from the boys . I still think Phill is right that I need some sort of intake at some point , but for now I won't fix whats not broken until I start noticng issues. I will also post more pics as progress continues. Today we did some cable management on the rafters and we found one fan that was not properly seated and was leaking air. Will fix that tomorrow. Pictures to come as well.

Hello guys, Phil, feel free to remove this if you want - my main account 'dragonmike' was apparently hacked, and got auto-banned when I tried to recover it using the secret password. Nice feature, that... As I have posted in here several times, I was hoping some helpful soul would be able to point me to the right way of asking for my account to be restored. I've pm'd hilariousandco, mprep and theymos with signed messages, so far nothing...

I have these posts above scattered on bitcointalk for a few years.
every time I read about a hack it frightens me.
@ dragon002 did we ever do a deal?
did I sell or buy or escrow with you?
If we did I could try to verify your addresses you used with me if you control them.

I don't think we did, Phil. I have sent a pm to two mods with a signed message from my BTC core wallet with the address I've been referring to in posts on this forum. One of the mods told me to send it to another... who himself has written in his signature "I'm not restoring accounts". Back to square one. It's not the fact that I have to use another account that bothers me, but the fact that I had signature campaign running from my main account. And the status of the account matters a lot when you want to rack in extra coins. And that's regardless of the fact that my account got hacked in the first place (very likely after the forums got pwned). At the end of the day it's the forum's fault I was hacked, THEY refuse to restore my account, and I have to pay the price. That's pretty lame.

Hi Phil, What do we need to do to avoid similar case like dragon? Do a deal with you? Bitcointalk has been hacked before no? Maybe suffer same fate like Litecoin no defunct forum. Are we at mercy of the gods in Bitcointalk? Thanks

Are we at mercy of the gods in Bitcointalk? Thanks I don't know frankly I have a fear of this. I sometimes escrow deals over 20k usd. I use pm's so grief for sure. I have pm's dating back a long time. I would love to just be able to download them and get them off the servers on bitcointalk. I guess that is a project for me to do.

Looks like 1070 Ti will really happen soon. Prices seem to calm down a little bit.
Newegg has EVGA 1070 SC Black (no bells and whistles) for $409. Or $389.99 after $20 rebate. Limit 5...

@citronick I ended up going with this board and hopes that the genius pcie design doesnt short it all out O_O @VoskCoin I've been on the fence about that board. but I guess its fine, just a little extra work of wrapping the pciex1 plug of the riser with electrical tape. To add cards, I am trying to use the m2 slots on my board: asrock fatal1ty b250 gaming k4(6 pcie out of the box). On that note, does anyone here have any experience with m2 to pcie to work properly for card#7 and #8? The first time I tried, I was able to get windows 10 to detect the card but the card always had error code 43. No amount of bios or driver tinkering got it to work. I emailed asrock support about it and they pointed me to a beta bios. Finally had free time and energy to try the beta bios a few days ago. It had 4G decoding!!!! Got windows to detect the gtx1060 card and to install drivers. Ran ewbf but only getting 50sols/s while the other gtx1060 cards get 270ish. Tried switching risers and cards. Any card or riser plugged into the m2-pcie slot only produced 50sols/s Have you guys encountered this issue before? How did you deal with it? I will probably email asrock support about this again.

your settings for 1070 to get 425sols at 65% tdp?
how about settings for 1080ti to get 800sols at 80% tdp?
I can not do 800 sols with any 1080 ti Best I've managed out of my Aorus is about 790 - but that was PUSHING it with a bit over 100% TDP (105 I think, for 262 watts) and +150 core +100 memory. 80% figure (200 watts) more like 720 sol/s ballpark, +150 and +100 (which seems to be the sweet spot for this card at ANY power level 75% or higher, lower it starts crashing at the +150 core setting). My Gigabyte 3-fan Windforce model overheats if I try to push it at all, it's currently pulling a little under 700 sol/s at 215 watts +120 core +100 ram (It's on a LINUX box where TDP is set direct as a watts figure not a % figure). ************************************ AND OMG ******************************************** It's on a riser for cooling reasons - and still pulling about 70C at 80% fan at a ambient of about 85F, despite the reduced TDP setting.

I was actually going to ask about that, I saw one member used plastic shrink - but just a quick elec tape wrap sufficient? It's 33% cheaper or more than the other options per the prices when I was shopping for it
