Its true bitcoin is a digital currency. We can't compare it with gambling. Maybe due to its price which is volatile and not
stable people call its gambling.Since it have no fix price and the price increase and sometimes decrease. This does not mean that bitcoin is gambling. Gambling is even more uncertain and risky.

In my opinion, every investment is a gambling, we all invest with the hope that the value will rise and then they could sell and make some profits, but at some time when investors are not patient enough, they tend to sell their investment asset when the price dwindles and make up making a loss.

About the nature, you are right, investment is also a form of gambling because you invest and hope the value of something can increases. But you forget the whale and big boy will not use their money to invest normally. They use their money to control the price of anything in the market and calculate the total money they need to spend before get profits

During the early days bitcoin has been used much on gambling and for illegal transactions. This slowly got changed when the people started to know about the innovation as well the usage beyond that of gambling.
