I bought 6 shares in DMS.mining today. I thought I could risk losing $1.75 in the worst case.

So can someone confirm what I understand to be true, or correct it?

When you buy DMS.MINING shares you're betting that for that price, 5MH/s will break even or create a profit in it's first year, starting at the date of purchase.

And DMS.SELLING begs to differ, that the 5MH/s for that price won't break even?

And all during this, DMS.MINING shares get daily dividends for how much could have actually been mined with 5MH/s per share, and the shares can be sold whenever the owner decides to?

Hey guys, I didn't read any of the previous 45 pages of the thread, can you explain how this works?  Grin

You probably want to read the first two post, and then if you still have any questions just ask.  In general it's a combination of securities that allows you to either collect mining dividends at a reduced cost compared with some other funds with Dms.Mining, or go short that fund by betting against its valuation as being profitable with Dms.Selling.  Also some of the money is invested in other ventures.  It's a bit more complicated, so you might want to read the whole thing.

I was joking, but thanks for being polite about it!

I just see way too many people come to the thread and ask for an explanation without even attempting to skim the multiple in depth explanations already offered.

That's about right, except for "in its first year". There is no time limit. There are some currently unlikely scenarios related to 400 days, because SELLING gets to keep amounts beyond what MINING can mine in 400 days at the current difficulty.

Hmmm, that's an interesting scenario, thanks for explaining!

He asked about DBS not DMS - not sure where he even saw DBS, let alone what it is (unless I typoed somewhere).

The current price trend of DMS MINING is really difficult for me to understand. The price almost increases every day, when its value apparently decreases every day. This surprisingly made the buying MINING in the beginning of this round very profitable. The price increases by 20% plus around 1.6% dividend paid every day.

Apparently, people believe that its price is low because the difficulty isn't going up as much as it did last time.

I think DMS.Mining underperformed for weeks, its share value dropped way more than difficulty increases.
Finally it reached some kind of bottom and it's rebounding.

We'll see.

It either underperformed (in terms of share price development) or it was greatly overvalued and the low drop it saw was a correction. While DMS.MINING is still a better deal than other PMBs if you purely look at MH/BTC, but I'm convinced that the price still exceeds its true value.
