Thank you for not taking offence, and helping me understand your views. I think maybe my own views are very simplistic and what I hope, or wish probably is not an answer to your questions.
Who do I ask the question: WHY does Devcoin/Devtome pay me for my writing? Is it because it is valued on it's own merit, or is it just a mechanism for building the Devcoin community?
If the latter is the case, maybe its just about deciding how big the resource should be and setting a price that's worth to get done and putting up "bounties" or some such for x number of words on certain subjects like any of the other projects Devcoin funds? Perhaps that's a question to ask oneself. If sweeteners are the core remit then I think that appeals to the wrong subset and I can more efficiently apply the results of my time/effort direct to whatever open-source applications or ideals I value or work best for me. There are many ways to change mechanisms, but motivations and catalysts need addressing first. I've probably taken the ethos and potential too seriously so it's my misunderstanding not yours. Your view is similar to that of most others, objectively or not. I just don't share it and so my approach may change accordingly, because I'm tired of reiterating aspects I think are fundamental but not shared. That's a statement on relative payment dynamics and drivers not necessarily content or ambition, and my error not yours. penguin: other people are getting that, but for no particular reason as it's built from same source as your current wallet. The new client should resolve it hopefully. juan: http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=devcoin_faq#what_about_artists_and_musiciansHB: It's very tricky putting a price on knowledge...because no one knows when the right ideas will combine in the right person's mind and change the world. Indeed. And we better hope that conflux happens on devtome.

I noticed ho some people do devcoin giveaways and stuff on bitcointalk... Do you think we should devote a share from the bounty list to be used as a giveaway to increase awareness of devcoin and devtome? -AM
There are a whole lot of giveaways going on at our new forum via http://coinzen.org/ . - Nova Ok cool thanks for letting me know

I have a question about the devtome ratings for round 32. It seems that there isn't an article of me on the round 32 list. Last round I got a bad rating because I published a draft (my bad...). I thought I could get a better rating this round. Is it possible to rate at least one article of every writer with > one share in the active round?
I haven't gotten a PM from Unthinkingbit about rating yet. (Or I already did it, I don't remember ) Where did you see the list anyway?

But to answer the question... the articles are randomly chosen. There are a lot of people to deal with. This is also why you don't post drafts. When they get indexed, and people visit them, they see bad information and are pushed away from the site (which is the exact opposite of what we want). Effectively by posting a bad version of your article you are destroying the site, rather than helping it. Your rating will, over time, reflect where you stand as a writer. As such, just keep at it and you'll be fine as long as your writing quality increases.

Heya, What's its hash rate? Since devcoin introduced merged-mining, the difficulty is up there close to bitcoins now.

Hi guys, I am a new writer for devtome and have a quick question regarding photos in articles. Is it acceptable to use photos from the internet (provided you reference the user and don't claim it as your own), or are we only to use our own photos? I am sure the answer is probably in one of the wiki guides but I have most likely misread or forgotten it.
Thanks

.. I haven't gotten a PM from Unthinkingbit about rating yet. (Or I already did it, I don't remember ) .. I asked Dalamar96 to handle the raters, and he agreed. He made the rating pages, and you should see a message from him soon. In any case, you can fill out your rating page now: http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=rating_x_32replacing x with your devtome name.

There are a whole lot of giveaways going on at our new forum via http://coinzen.org/ . - Nova Some of the mods have been discussing this amongst ourselves and have been meaning to bring up the possibility of devoting ongoing shares to facilitate an advertising budget (including giveaways) to drive traffic to the forum. This seems reasonable, since the forum will serve as an ongoing project to further interest in and awareness of Devcoin. Unthinkingbit and others, what do you think?

Hey! Is there a devcoin paper wallet generator? If im not wrong, its the same as bitcoin? In that case would I be able to use something like http://bitaddress.org? Would it be the bitcoin address be the correct address or would I have to run it through some different site to different address that starts with "D". Peercoin and namecoin are based off of bitcoin and use the same generation as bitcoin but they start with "P" or "N". Thanks.

Nmc uses different notation to pack public addresses but devcoin uses the same as bitcoin.. I believe you can just use bitcoin addresses interchangeably with devcoin.. but im not sure. Try to send devcoin to a bitcoin address notice that wallet thinks its a valid address.

As the forum gets more popular it will simply be pennies on the dollar as compared to advertising on Adsense. You could spend $2.50 per click with Adsense and only have 1 in 25 show any interest in Devcoin/Devtome at all.. Bittzy78

Coinzen is not ready yet. When it is, we'll probably get a good amount of traffic anyways. If it's not enough, then we'll advertise.

A devcoin address starts with the same character as a bitcoin address, there is no change at all. You can import a bitcoin address into devcoin and vice versa.

Could Devtome writers please categorise and either add their new writings to the Most recent section or directly to the appropriate category (preferably the latter). We work from that home-page list and then an A-Z of writers. Just writing and doing nothing means articles are left somewhere in the devtome ether, makes the job of working on your articles a lot harder, and gives the impression there's no desire for anyone to ever read them. Thanks Edit: Been highlighted to me that the above isn't clear, so I'm talking about 2 steps: 1) Categorising at base of articles e.g. [[Category:Biology]] 2) Actually lisiting those articles (filing) under Most Recent and in the place your category suggests (the Biology page). If everybody could do this it would save a lot of hassle, and get us closer to having the time to look at devtome presentation/visuals. MAbtc: There's already a portion of shares for faucet giveaway and advertising. Perhaps it's worth trying to negotiate with those recipients if considered more efficient, or give an address and anyone who supports it can donate?

The Litecoin Widget (by Mad Geniuses) for Android phones now supports DVC/BTC, DVC/LTC, and DVC/XPM on cryptsy. It's not enabled for Vircurex, but at least you can keep an eye on devcoin prices at any time with ease.

Heya, What's its hash rate? Since devcoin introduced merged-mining, the difficulty is up there close to bitcoins now. AM, Each usb erupter mines about 0.33 GH/s, but you can overclock them to 0.44 GH/s with some skill. ( http://www.designer2k2.at/mods/elektronik/85-block-erupter-overclocking.html) If you only have one mining, you really are losing money from electricity.
