I've got buy bids but not many dumpers right now, where are they when you want them?Huh

Devcoin is on all time low, people are not willing to dump lower than it is right now. Best move is to buy ;p

Yes and no... but I fear it could go as low as 7 satoshi before we'll see pretty much all devcoin supporters (guys who have been posting here in the last year) buying up devcoins by the tens of millions... (talking my book here obviously...  Grin )

And this will ofcourse finally move the market and start a small mania (other non devcoin people buying in)

Just a note to all you miners lurking in the thread. Blisterpool is paying out a whopping 20% bonus for the month of June. It's a p2pool backend with 10% server fee (to ensure script triggers), with the fee plus another 20% of your throughput sent in devcoins to your registered devcoin address.

more info here: http://blisterpool.com

You'll get devcoins as long as you mine on the server, even if you don't get any bitcoins from p2pool, and it's paid out whenever a bitcoin block is found.

If you would normally get 1btc from a p2pool payout, via blisterpool you would get 0.9 btc straight to your bitcoin address, plus 0.3btc worth of devcoins (market rate) to your devcoin address.

Thanks for letting me know.... I will try it later this week.

multipool.us seems to have a lot of problems lately, so I am looking for an alternative anyway.

That auction has been running for a few weeks I set it to expire end of month.. nothing has changed. I posted that when there was 6 or 7 days left in auction. Time needs to goto 0 before you are the winner.

I never restarted the $10 gift card after the reserve was met.. theres no reason to do that. I restarted ones that expired with little or no bids.

I WATCHED the timer reset TWICE! No-where on that auction does it say it ends at the "end of the month" Why does it have a timer for 70 hours if its going for a month? I thought at first maybe I had it wrong so I went back to the site 69 hours later and it reset for the second time IN FRONT OF MY EYES Sidhujag. I have no reason to lie? I wanted to run a story on the first auction winner (whoever it was) for heaven sake!

Also, I have tried to understand your explanation to HunterBunters question but you have not explained the payment system at all. This is the situation from a user perspective.

That card retails for $10
I bought 20 bids for $24.95 ( I will round it down to $1 per bid for this excersize)
Each bid increases the "auction" by 0.01
The reserve was 0.14 ($14)
The current price after Papacrusher bid is 0.25 ($25)
For a $10 Amazon card?

From what you have explained, we have to pay for the card at the end of the auction and this is when it gets very, very confusing.

1) What happens to that $25.00 worth of bids placed on this auction after its ended?
2) How much is the final price the winner will pay and how do users work that out?

UPDATE: Found your bug melodiem!

Seems I'm getting pretty good at optimizing websites lol...

So I have moved devcoinauctions.com away from bluehost.com VPS and onto a cloud SSD self managed host and setup ubuntu x64 14.04 (LEMP setup) with nginx, php5-fpm (opcode php optimization enabled), varnish cache (with wp total cache) and memcache enabled. It seems to balance loads alot better probably can handle more people at a time but I found the bug where the time (when logged out wasn't right)... seems the homepage was being cached and was loading whoever last loaded and cached the webpage on the cloudflare CDN servers. I set up some page rules so that HTML pages are not cached and now seems the homepage is updating the time properly because the html is always loaded from the server.

I think varnish has created a minor bug which is inconvenient... when you are on the homepage and login, and go back to the homepage the top header still shows the login links instead of the greeting of your username and link to my account... any other page works fine, just when you navigate back to the homepage... however you are logged in and if you bid from the homepage it will go through. I will dig into this some more.
Cheers,
Jag

For those who are considering purchasing bitcoin or scrypt miners, you can enable a 3% discount by using the coupon code 'devcoin' at GAWMiners.

Simply go to gawminers.com, make your purchase, and when prompted during checkout enter devcoin as the coupon code. Subtle advertising for devcoin but feel free to share.

I'm interested in seeing where it comes from, which keywords are sending search traffic to figure out what needs doing in terms of SEO and marketing to get more.  Angry Cry

I tried to download devcoind from the official site, and it points to an expired domain.

http://devcoin.org/devcoin-wallet.html click on linux, try to get devcoind.

I tried compliling the source, got some errors about "wx", never heard of that before, some kind of widget thing. Got past that with an "apt-get install libwxbase2.8-dev", and now it fails due to things about wx. I give up. I'll take a compiled version if there is one.

wx is wxwidgets which was switched to qt in newer bitcoin distros.. If you dont have wxwidgets thats why.

I ported devcoin to 0.8.5 using qt lib so this code should work for you:

https://github.com/sidhujag/devcoin

It will soon be official source as we are testing the client on blisterpool.

Its not dead at all the person who wrote that is misinformed.

Devcoin has had more action in 2014 outside its price than all years before. It's far from death and has captured the brightest among us.

+1

I stay with devcoin thru good and hard times.

This coin will play out over the next decade, not the next few weeks.

That's what DEV stands for.... longtime continuous development of things.

Hopefully also artistic things like music, sound, graphics, 3d etc in the future...
