this Devtome article on luajit appears to be plagiarized from this blog post. unless they are the same author of course. what can be done to prevent some things or verify they are the same author?

Writers work is checked for plagiarism and writers have to prove they own original work (usually by a link on the original saying also published on Devtome or something similar)

If you click on "Old revisions" on the article on Devtome, you will see who the author is. (and who has added to or edited it)
If you do a search for the author on Devtome, you will find a link to his user profile (in this case develcuy (wiki:user))
If you follow the link, it will show the article you mentioned, with a link to the original source. (in this case Develcuys blog)

Sorry to ask this, but I have noticed that the official dvc wallet for windows is showing as trojan in over 10 out of 40-50 different AV.
https://www.virustotal.com/ro/file/19034cf328bb596529edcdc7b744b100027c9362a91ae69f84aa4e5e4bfc3eca/analysis/1395235783/
Any idea why?

I'm no professional but I do know it's a false positive. For some reason some wallets show up as false positives. (as do most mining programs for that matter) I think it has something to do with cpu use? I had the same issue where my AV wanted to keep killing my DVC wallet. I have been using the wallet for quite a while and have not encountered any issues.

Someone with more knowledge would have to answer your other questions. I'm just a part time lurker, full time ... do other stuff kind of guy.

Anyone got a working node for the Android client?

We need to mine a block using new node before we officially support android client. Once hunterbunters pool solves a block (needs more hash) then android client will be pushed forward because everyone will have switched... unless your testing still?

We did all the tests before, but I had to reflash my phone. I am more comfortable with a working Devcoin wallet on my phone thsn without, so I asked for a node to make it function.

If sidhujag didn't change something recently, you could use my node at 'd.evco.in', using default port.

Just a heads up to people who have coins on vircurex. They are freezing bitcoin withdrawals from March 24th. See

https://vircurex.com/welcome/ann_reserved.html

If you have any bitcoins on that exchange, I'd get them out asap.

funny you mention it. I got mine out through Devcoin, at only a 20% markup while everyone else was paying a 40% premium on Doge.

Retreived all my Devoins from Vircurex. A shame, they have been around a long long time without problems. Anyway, Vircurex is not fully gone yet and others exists (and will come).

I bought DevCoin through the Vircurex fiasco and am now a bagholder.  After looking at the coin, I like!

I would personally like to add the Bible.  I'm not talking cut and paste... I would like to type it in myself - complete with my own annotations.  Would this go against devtome's terms of conditions?

I'd need to see a better example of what you mean. If you can send me a 800 word or so example I can better guide you on its acceptability.

Man, after crypto-trade got hacked, too. I know there's still cryptsy. Have any other exchanges added a DVC/BTC pairing?

Is this temporary or forever? Should I also take out other coins?

Is there a way to only buy or only sell with the shotgunbot?

God knows. I took my BTC out of vircurex... I still keep some DOGE there.

But the LTC I keep there are still frozen, and I have to wait for Vircurex to "release" them. I can't withdraw them.

So yes... it's a little bit of a dangerous game...

If everybody withdraws their money now then it will a very fast demise for vircurex.
Since not having enough currency in the exchange is what caused those problems in the first place.
So it will become only worse if people panic now.

I think Vircurex has run very stable in the last year. But if they can't keep their shit together they must go, like Mt.Gox.  Grin
