I don't know if there is a better documentation for Ubuntu somewhere but debugging by trial and error is slow and time consuming. Is there a way to turn on Debug traces in MM? or verbose mode!
So far my attempts to make MM use bfgminer other than the one downloaded via ppa ended in failure I have been trying to make MM on Ubuntu 12.04 64bit for 3 days.
What Linux documentation there is can be found in the Readme. Unfortunately there's a bug in the current MultiMiner keeping it from detecting BFGMiner on Linux. This will be fixed in the next update.

I get "Multiminer has detected miners it does not own - did you want to kill them" error on a daily basis now. After MM crashes/freezes? Yea. I'm thinking it happens more often too if I do a bit of swapping between my 2 miners via the MM 'network/tree' menu on the one machine. It's an option you can disable under Settings > Detect Orphaned Miners. It just means that MultiMiner found miners that it didn't start and doesn't know about.

I cannot for the life of me get MultiMiner to even run on m Win8.1 machine here to get multi miner working on 8.1 I had to install .net 3.5 even though I am sure 8.1 already has .net 4 installed I will try this later. Thanks! I can confirm MultiMiner requires .NET 3.5. I've done this to make sure folks could run this on older rigs, but version 4.0 of MultiMiner will up the requirement to at least .NET 4.0. If you are still unable to run the app on 8.1, please post as much detail as possible about this. I run the app myself on 8.1 on several rigs. I just tried installing on 8.1 the other night on my roommates PC to mine DRK with a spare r9 270. MM will install, but won't launch properly as is. I am going to try installing .NET 3.5 in a few and see if that remedies the issue. I was did use MM on the same PC (pre-8.1 update) and quite a few versions ago (MM 2.8'ish). MM would "launch" but only in the background and am unable to get the process to stop without a reboot. Uninstalling MM won't even stop the process. Would you like me to pull some logs from this machine? Also, my Win7 machines have been crashing/freezing near daily and sometimes more often. I have posted the error codes/logs in previous posts over the last week or so.

Some notes on errors. Please don't take any of this the wrong way, I am just being straight forward. I am not venting, I know you folks are doing your best to report issues. I just want to make sure the most useful information is coming across. FirstIf you are receiving errors, please post the error details. That means, saying "I am having .NET errors" does not help at all. I understand you may be frustrated, but if you took a few more steps I could fix the issues much more quickly. They are examples, not literal. By all means post any errors you want - the more the better. But ones that list file names and modules but no lines of "code" (like the last two examples) aren't likely to be useful.

Just to report, after setting up multiminer last night and getting it working with my rockminer, I woke up this morning to find my rockminer no longer mining. When I checked multiminer it was still running and displaying stats for the miner as if it was still running although the values were not changing. I stopped the software and clicked start again and the miner started back up.
Also just to expand on my point about antminer u2's and the rockminer. If I do a scan with the rockminer plugged in it gets picked up. If I do a scan with the rockminer and the antminers plugged in it only sees the antminers. I cannot mine with both from multiminer, its one or the other. Is there anything I can do to get multiminer to allow me to use both. Does anyone have both a rockminer and antminers that can advise on their solution.

HI Nate I am glad you got a vacation. I have a problem with no output to post. MM keeps crashing. Even after it has crashed the miners all keep running. BFGMiner and sgminer that I have running for coins are still running when MM has crashed and closed. It is odd. Everything reports ok pool wise. There is no report when MM crashes either.

Hi Nate. It does throw this error if I try and restart MM after a crash without going to task manager to close the running instances of BFG and SG. Win 7 64 bit. See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging ************** To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this application or computer (machine.config) must have the jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section. The application must also be compiled with debugging enabled.
For example:

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Hi guys, I've just started using multiminer so that i can run an R-Box and have it monitored and reset when it gets sick or dead rather than having to do it manually through bfgminer like i have been. Well I use bitminter and entered all its credentials perfectly into the client but whenever i start mining, Multiminer just signs it into eligius which is something I've never even used and certainly DONT WANT TO. Why won't it just listen to me and mine where I want? Does anyone out there have a fix? I feel like it should be noob stuff (really it SHOULDNT be an issue since I've never entered information for eligius in the 1st place). Thanks for anyone with help.

Do you have Perks enabled in MultiMiner? Yes What you are seeing is the 1% donation for enabling perks. If you disable perks, it will remove the donation. I don't know all the details how it works but I don't use perks as I mine very few coins and I don't switch for profit etc.

Hi, is there any guide(working) available on how to setup your G-Blade with MM? I've been reading and searching around, somewhere someone reports something and somewhere the other thing - with one single, same device that most of the people are using. Hence not able to gather it up altogether. I'll be getting my very first ASIC on coming Wednesday, so don't have any pre-experience on setting it up. Any help/suggestion on how to set the G-Blade with MM is very much appreciated.
Thanks
P.S. G-Blade doesn't works with SGMiner? Works stable with latest BFGMiner?
Help Please(!) - My G-Blade has already arrived - Before I put it to work, I NEED to know the best or at least properly working configuration for this device, so that I don't damage it - Earlier my question got ignored(even messaged Nate, but he's on vacation, I heard) - So please-please help. Many many thanks in advance. P.S. I'm mainly want to know the list of "arguments" used to operate this device. What is necessary and what's not to be included in the configuration file. Thanks

Do i have to wait for 1% of a day to pass before it switches over? Or is it taken out gradually?

Do i have to wait for 1% of a day to pass before it switches over? Or is it taken out gradually? I recently had to reconfigure one of my pools as MultiMiner was not connecting properly and would move to the next pool in that coins list. The problem was I removed the "stratum+tcp://" from the pool address (many MM versions ago) and since updating MM, it would no longer connect to the pool without the stratum+tcp:// in the address. I know this for a fact as my S1 was hashing fine on the same pool that MM would/could not connect and mine until I added stratum+tcp:// in the coins url config. The donation is gradual, so there must be something wrong with your pool connection/setup as your equipment is mining and donating 1% to the MM dev. I suggest checking with BTCGuild or Slush pool (if mining SHA-256). Hope that helps some.

This will be fixed in the next update. would you like to share the bug with me and build procedure on Linux and I can help you with MM on Ubuntu. it is my best interest to make it work based on how much time you already invested in MM.
