Has anybody else tried messing with the nMaxSieveSize variable?
By chopping a zero off of it, I seemed to be able to get almost a 5x increase in pps. I know that reducing the sieve size would effectively reduce the amount of numbers checked for each run of the sieve and then reduce the likelyhood of finding a block, but is pps more important than search size?

The longest known Cunningham Chain has k=17.

So far the highest found by primecoin are 9 long in blocks 116, 1592, and 2044.

The distribution is skewed towards chains of 7 primes as the difficulty started at 7. I'm expecting difficulty >8 within 4 days and >9 by the end of the month. In time we will start to see some significantly long chains, but I can't see this project delivering chains longer than 12 that match the hash of the prime blockchain for another year at least.

Before we can get longer chain the network pps will have to go up.

And do we know how to measure the effective pps rate of the network?

I7 3770k/4thread.. 4.37ghz.. 70-76c darkknight 2 cpu cooler.. I don't really like running it that hot.. but hey.. it's summer w/e

First block was within an hour or two of the start of mining.. amusing that some of you with much slower cpu's have found more than this?  I want screenshots lol

That shouldn't fix anything. -1 just means ∞, or rather, no limit.

How do we implement flags using the debug window? And what extra flags would you use for a i3 ivy bridge 3.4 GHz 2 cores 4 threads?

i thought setgenerate true  without any "x" meant it used eight cores...   maybe he just needs to wait a while before the client shows the pps?  wen i started mining through the client the first time it took twenty minutes to show up any speeds at all

Give it 10 minutes or so.

Mine was around 4 for the first 5 minutes and now it's stable at around 135

"setgenerate true" uses how many physical cores you have in your machine, not infinity, and not 8.

What I meant was infinity is the software limit. The software limit, when set to -1, will never be lower than the number of cores you have, no matter how many cores you have.
