Also got one with the modified client 350 blocks ago (after 1800 blocks of nothing before).
did Bitcoin require this much luck back in the day?

Lol, it requires a damn sight more luck NOW - you guys are just used to pool mining.  Solo is always a crap shoot.

I guess it's just that many new miners have appeared. Before that 1800 block slack i got one each ~200 - 600.

People are probably block robbing on their optimized clients. Someone has got to release an optimized binary.

Who is Breasticles?

And don't you think Rogue Legacy is great, if you've played it too? :p

Hah, I honestly have no idea. I am too lazy to clear out my steam friend list so I just left it alone for the past 3 years or ago.

Very easy to modify and compile if you're on Linux, on Windows it'd be a pain though. Also I'd wait for these testnet results.

I haven't found one for 24hrs so I'm shutting down too.  I'll wait for the gpu miner I'm sure someone is using to be released..

No problem. All the easier for us remaining miners.

Don't take too long. The block reward is dropping.

this new coin makes me happy! im a solo mining addict! this is definately the lot of a solo miner, good days and bad days.  it doesn't even seem like primespersec  rate is even all that valuable.  i thought there was a post in this thread where sunny said he just added primes per sec as a lark. i dunno im sure it will all come out in the wash. just 1 block so far doing my best to just forget about it. a watched wallet doesn't solve blocks.

Good to see coins evolving like this, this coin seems to add some new features to the cryptocoin world, which is a good thing. Hope to see more of this.

It does seem kinda lame some miners have an order of magnitude advantage (if not orders)to regular miners.   DAY 1 , Apparently almost right from the get go.

would recommend devs updating client download with the few obvious optimizations mentioned in this thread as well as the other obvious ones, or Lukejr posting a optimized update, if he would be so nice.

the sooner this happens the better as the "unfair" advantage could stick around to at least damage the coins rep in the future, if minimally. (Overall good launch)

Yeah no friggin kidding. 40 hours at 79 PPS average and nothing. Seriously. I've asked 10 people so far to help me learn how to compile code to add my own personal flags... I'm not asking for answers, just the method to adjust some variables.

I am running a single sandy bridge i3 (3.3 Mh), and as of when I left for work this morning, I had found 3 blocks in less than 48 hours, one of which is fully confirmed.  That's better than I do GPU mining almost anything else out there (except maybe the latest crapcoin in the instamine phase) using a pool!  Sure, they come sporadically, but they do come.  And I can still GPU mine my favorite coin-of-the-week Wink  I've also had reasonable luck cpu mining SIFCOIN (SIC) on the same machine.  Since it's a machine I already had and it idles most of the day, I welcome having something useful to throw my cpu cycles against.  I may not get rich on it, but it's more interesting than buying lottery tickets!

I also would love to see the client get some of the tweaks that have been mentioned (I'm a windoze user who just doesn't have any time these days to roll it myself like I used to).  Based on the kind of computations being done, is there any real advantage of 64-bit over 32-bit? (haven't even had time to go through the code and this is so much different than 'old school' hashing! Sad

If someone has the skill and makes the effort to optimize their miner, how is that unfair?

Seriously, I doubt what you say is true at all.  I have been mining with the stock client on a i7-3820 that's not overclocke, and I have mined 22 blocks so far - the last was less than an hour ago.  I have gone stretches of 10 hours with no block sometimes, and got 2 in 30 minutes another time.  It's just luck, really.
