That happens every time there is a getwork failure which means that the pool failed to give out new work in time. That's one of the things h2o is working on to fix. There is no way to completely prevent it as it's on the server side but you could probably lower the effect of it by load-balancing between pools. Also, judging from h2o's tweets, the us servers might have less of getwork failures.

ok thanks for then answer.

So you mean its better to use the US server? Is there a disadvantage since im in europe? More rejects or something like this?

And what do you mean by load balancing between pools?

The US servers might have less getwork failures but you also might get more rejects because of the higher latency. So in the end it might not make a difference. But only way to be sure is for you to test it.

What I mean is to use the load-balance option in cgminer and set it to balance the load between the eu/us servers. I don't know if it will actually help but it's been discussed here a few times. Search back some pages and you'll find it.

Also eu has been running for weeks now, why is it still in beta?

Because it is still having instability issues. Be sure to read the Middlecoin Twitter feed for updates.

Also don't forget the FAQ for the server lists.

http://middlecoin.kobal.org/index.php/Main_Page

This is very useful, my thanks Smiley

Oh that was very helpful.

Apparently, useast is the closest by ping followed by amsterdam. uswest is actually a higher ping than amsterdam...

Now I know what's my 2nd backup.

Another underwhelming day on the Asia server.

At 1.30 when the payout comes, I'm going to point my miners at middlecoin.com instead of asia.middlecoin.com for 24 hrs to see what happens.

I assume that the vanilla middlecoin.com server is the one that is performing well?

I will report back with my findings.

You may find they are mining different pools, so today maybe worse than US server but tomorrow might be better, and it probably isn't what h2o want in the first place, having everyone rushing to 1 pool that had most payout yesterday and cause more issues. The solution is to standardize the payout since multiple servers can't mine the same coin due to the large hashrate middlecoin has, this really should be a priority rather than adding new servers with different payouts.

My hashrate over the last 8 hours has been 2.15 when I have 3 rigs totaling 5.9Mh/s.  They are all running, pumping out heat, and supposedly connected to middlecoin.com:3333.  I have been on MC stably for over a month with the same cgminer.bat file, so I know my public address and configurations are correct.

Thoughts?HuhHuh

You got fucked , Same I had most of the week. God knows what's going on.

Very good earnings today considering unexchanged was almost completely exchanged last night, and we've re-accumulated so much more already.

Obviously tonight was not a good time for H2O to sell coins.
Tomorrow should be a huge payday.
Your electric bill only comes once a month, not daily.

Yup, whereas renting you could make between 0.016 and 0.017 BTC/MH/day for the same time period (However, the day before, mining on this pool would have been more profitable)

Profitability of most coins has dropped off in the past 2-3 days, so it's more the market that's the issue, not how this pool is handling trading/mining.

I don't blame h2o for waiting to exchange a fair amount of what we mined :]

Why would wafflepool be any better? Their last 24h stat says 0.00548043 BTC per MH/s per day. When I look at middlecoin, the last 24 hours we've earned approx. 0.009 per MH/s per day. Not much, but still almost twice as much as wafflepool does.

What am I missing?

Coins dropped 1/3 in value the last day, selling em now really would hurt payouts.
I'm glad h20 sticks to them till the value is better, I always check the weekly average payout as that gives a better picture.

Bit of a heads up people, dont install the 14.1 mantle drivers... They completely break the miner software.

I have a R9 290 and have tested both cgminer and sgminer, both no worky.

Im sure one of the software boffins will work out whats going on soon enough.

....... or we all go waffle...lotto is 40 bucks a day cheater!

Short test with waffle.

Yesterday, 1.Feb I take one my rig off from middlecoin and direct it to waffle.

It is 2.85MH7s rig (CGminer reported average speed ~2.85MH/s, not pool counted work speed!)
(It have 4x Sapphire dual-x R9, 280x, AsrockBTC, 8G, Win 7, CGminer 3.7.2-kalroth, slightly undervolted by Trixx)

It was continuous 5.5hour in waffle.  (1.Feb afternoon GMT)
Due to exchange delays etc I read result today:

(hash: df8ddd85)
Bitcoins sent to you: 0.00000000
Bitcoins earned (not yet sent): 0.00290516
Bitcoins unconverted (approximate): 0.00001079

5.5 hour ~2.9 mBTC ! Using 2.85MH/s rig.

IF it continue just like this, it give ~12.7mBTC 24h.
12.7/2.85 = 4.46 mBTC day for 1MH/s (Rig itself speed, not pool accepted work speed)

Rest of day it was of course in MC connected to: amsterdam  failoveronly > eu > useast > uswest.
Due to previous late payment this day was short (roughly 22h)
Rig was service state roughly half hour.
It was mining around 16 hour in MC for this payment:
Feb. 2, 2014, 3:55 a.m.   ~21.6mBTC

Then it need of course note that after previous payment unexchanged was around 7mBTC less.

So, totally it make around 28.5 mBTC in this 16 hours with same 2.85MH/s rig (but different time).
IF it is continuous like this, it give 42.75mBTC 24h.
42.75/2.85 = 15mBTC day for 1MH/s (Rig itself speed, not pool accepted work speed)

Of course good test need equal mining rigs connected to pools and run least one week and then look data in wallet (and this is only what matters)

But this was tiny fun test and enough just for my needs in this time. This time difference was really more than small.

With this result alone can not make any decisions.

But I will continue in MC as long as I can find better or even nearly same.

I looked at last night's payout and said  Sad

I looked at last night/this morning's unexchanged and said  Shocked

That line is gonna rocket right up when that sucker goes.  My guess is that we've been mining a few coins that aren't traded on any exchanges that can be automated over the last day or two.  Gotta wait for H2O to manually exchange em.
