so what do we do with the new wallet to ensure qrks are safe? generate a new entire wallet.dat with new updated qt and use new pass on the updated one and move coins there?

First i transferred my wallet.dat from it's folder to another place then i downloaded the new quark wallet and let is sync and then i replaced the new wallet.dat with the original one back to it's folder. I also backed up my wallet.dat while i was at it. I am not sure if you have to change your password though, anyone knows? I don't think it's necessary. |

The reason they recommend to create a new wallet.dat is in case your wallet.dat and/or password got stolen through the exploit before the patch. It's highly unlikely but prudent. |

I don't mine, but i know they are working on a Multipool so that might be good for you too yep if we can get a multi pool run by a very active pool developer that monitors all the very latest coins as they launch that would work very well too. Need an option to switch miners to those that have active exchange markets so can cash over to qrk at once or else those that will risk stashing the latest launches for sale as soon as exchange markets appear. Lot's of things to consider if the qrk multipool gets large since for immediate cashing out will need markets with volume to cash out into. Would be good to delay the thunderclap somehow until there is a quark shop... ie a direct link to a site where people can buy qrk with fiat and fill their wallets. With out this, then really i see no huge impact. where are the fiat to qrk markets, there are one or two isnt there? https://www.thunderclap.it/projects/9706-let-s-reinvent-money-togetherthis page should link directly to a fiat to quark market even better just a dedicated qrk store where they can purchase qrk with fiat. If it had that then this would make a far more impact i think. |

Vic Yeah i see what you mean and the thunderclap is awesome.... but i just mean for noobs who have never heard of quark we just need a nice video of how to download and use the wallet , and a qrk shop ie just really an exchange that is fiat to qrk..... we just need to make it very simple for noobs who have never really even worked with bitcoin before to obtain some qrks. They probably wont have even bitcoins so all they will want to know is, how to install the wallet, and put some quarks in. We need to make that simple 2 step process as easy as possible..... or even just get some ebay quark packages ready to sell to those that have high ebay ratings. That could just be the easiest option... if you have a ebay rating of 50 plus go here and buy some quark packages... 50 dollar 100 dollar etc. Going to the qrk site and then finding exchanges , then finding the fiat ones, then registration, id credentials.... all hassle... 1 video to get the wallet installed. 2. qrk store for buying qrks for fiat with what ever method you need. Too many steps to give them simply what they want with the current set up i think... looks easy to us since we are used to crypto exchanges. just an idea. Yeah the multipool if done correctly with some good options could get a lot of people going for it. |

Oh quark universe has this paypal option that's cool well we certainly need to send them there... confusing noobs with exchanges is not effective.. sadly i don't know how to make any kind of video. Surely someone could make a quick recorded video for noobs? my cousin used to have this software where it just records everything you do on your machine and he has some headphones with a mic. Would be very easy for someone with that software to just show how to download the quark qt and install. So things we really need before the thunder clap... to make it very effective.. 1. a simple recording of someone downloading and installing the qrk QT 2. a link directly to buying qrk with paypal 3. perhaps a bunch of ebay qrk sellers offering qrk to ebayers with +50 rating... Even if i had a recording suite we really need someone with a kind of professional voice just to do it. Really all we need is the relevant info... a new person hears about qrk.... 1. he needs to get the wallet installed. 2. he needs an easy way to fill it with some qrk. 3. he then needs to become active in the qrk community with further idea of how to gain extra quark users and extra businesses and websites that will accept qrk. these are the 3 main points really anything else cool but those are the core. Shame a lot of the qrk holders don't come forward and make it a bit more of a team effort. Some ROI projects i think would solve this. |
