My sell order for 10 MSC @ .14 BTC/ea has been filled, so please remove me from the book for now. Thanks, and thanks to all for the smooth transactions!

I would also like to hear the answer to this question - would the mastercoin foundation put more "private exchanges" on the webpage?
I think buymastercoin.org typically handles orders from buyers that are new to mastercoin that don't know the MSC/BTC price and instead of doing the smart thing and check they are effected by the foundation webpage – I am new here and I contacted buymastercoin.org in the beginning and almost did the "mistake" of buying from him because I thought its "recommended" by the foundation.
There were a few posts of new buyers of MSC that felt “a bit” misled by the foundation.
I don’t know many anonymous buyers that want to buy at X3-4 the market price, instead of buying anonymously using the order book.
I did do the mistake to use buymastercoin.org since they were listed on mastercoin.com. Of course I got upset when I realized I lost 2000 or 3000 dollars. I do feel tricked by both buymastercoin.org and mastercoin.com and also from the mastercoin foundation. Non of them seem to wanna make a public statement regarding this. I think Mastercoins is great, but right now I'm not sure if I can trust the people behind it and would really just want my BTC back. I did ask them in an email but they refuse, even if it was only 24 hours after the trade was done. Of course, they are probably getting some hookers and booze right at this moment. Argh. Hello guys,
As most of the people here I got really interested by mastercoin features in the recent months, however the google doc "order book" is not an very simple solution to trade mastercoin, and I feel that neither is the buymastercoin website which for many reason seems like the official recommended solution.
Thats why we have started developing an "real" exchange (where people can set up their own prices) for mastercoins / bitcoins which should be ready hopefully in a few days. Most of the development is done and we are just testing the system right now. So until the distributed exchange is there we will be offering a convenient way to trade mastercoin, hopefully helping in the price discovery process and proposing a fairer price than the current easy to use solutions.
Ps : I am not in any way related to the mastercoin fundation or do have any mastercoin. Also note that we are doing this project outside of any official mastercoin bounty.
This is the best thing that could happen to the mastercoin project at this moment. Wish you the best of luck and hope that the mastercoin fundation will accept your site instead of the fucking buymastercoin.org

I'll agree with you, buymastercoin.org is a fucking scam. What kind of a loser wants to make a profit in that fashion? However, the mastercoin foundation doesn't have anything to do with that crook. Mastercoin foundation will also put advertisement from your company no matter how dumb the price is on your product. Mastercoin doesn't endorse the advertisers who use the site. However, I can see the conflict from your point of view. I wish Mastercoin Foundation would dissociate from that scammer as it just looks bad. Additionally, sometime people get tricked and it leaves a bad feeling. buymastercoin.org was also the one spamming the hell out of the blockchain while the Mastercoin funding was occurring. Idiots.

Max - could you please adjust the price only on my prefunded sell order? Presently the price is .1999. I'd like you to change that to .1899. I want to get the green prefunded order into the action so more will look at it and possibly adopt this strategy.
Thanks

I would like to buy 10 Mastercoin at .15 each. Can I be put me on the list?
There's a couple of people selling at or below this price. Please have a look at the order book and try to close a deal. Change my offer to around 36 MSC @ 0.14, please.
I have sold all of my MSCs listed for sale at 0.145. Please therefore remove my sell order at that price.
I'm looking to buy 150 MSC at 0.13/btc.

Order book updated.

I agree. I almost fell for that when I was first learning up on mastercoin. I thought that was the official mastercoin buy site at first and almost purchased. Actually, it's almost fraudulently misleading, given how it is so heavily promoted via links and advertised by the mastercoin foundation. I didn't let that incident make me look down on mastercoin, though it may to some people.

Like paying 200% of what the market rate is? That could be a problem. Mastercoin foundation has an executive director who is friends with the buymastercoin guy. I think it is a conflict of interest to give the appearance of endorsement. If you ask me, Ron ought to get rid of that guy just because it is 'scammy' - albeit they will send you the MSC after you paid way too much. Mastercoin simply doesn't need crap like that to piss people off.

I'm a believer in the free market, so if that guy wants to rip people off that's his right. But when he rips off newcomers to mastercoin who are trying to learn, it doesn't send a good message. Especially considering the cloak of legitimacy that the mastercoin foundation provides through the links/ad placement. It's not right. Either he should lower his prices, or the foundation tone down the advertising, or place some sort of disclaimer.

The fact you are not checking anywhere else for better prices is not the problem of buymastercoin or Mastercoin itself.

It's not right. Either he should lower his prices, or the foundation tone down the advertising, or place some sort of disclaimer. Normally, I think disclaimers are BS. Buyer beware. But since at least one guy was clearly sucked into this hole, we have evidence that the trap is a working trap and has actually caught people off guard. I say get rid of the scammy behavior. We don't need that. If buymastercoin.com did not deliver on purchase you could call it "a scam". You agree with the given price per mastercoin. The fact you are not checking anywhere else for better prices is not the problem of buymastercoin or Mastercoin itself. Clearly this is your site. Nobody could defend this kind of crap.

Then what do you call it when a guy disguises himself as an apple store employee to sell your grandmother an iPhone for $1400?

Its continued implied endorsement on mastercoin.org puts my investment in mastercoin at risk.

Important updateI'm quoting myself from another thread here: I just launched mcoin.io, a self-service Mastercoin order book. It will hopefully replace or at least complement the manually managed Google order book. As soon as the distributed Mastercoin exchange is fully working, mcoin.io most likely will become obsolete. But I hope it helps people to buy and sell Mastercoins in the meantime. Some features: - You can add and remove your own sell / buy orders (no need to wait for manual updates) - Balances of addresses get verified, fake orders can't be created - You can create prefunded orders and edit prices yourself - Prefunded orders can be bought directly from the site, no need for direct contact or escrow (as long as you trust me). Sending of Mastercoins will be done manually though, no private keys or funds are stored on the server. - No need to create an account at the site and no passwords to be lost or stolen. Everything is based on signing messages with your Mastercoin / Bitcoin address. I don't know how to sign a message with my addressI created a little tutorial to help you get started with this: http://mcoin.io/#/helpWhat about the manual Google order book? From now on, I'm asking everyone to submit their orders to the new self-service order book at mcoin.io. The manual Google order book will still be accessible for a while but I'm strongly encouraging everyone to test the new order book. Bugs and suggestionsThe new site is still in beta and I guess there's lots of room for improvements. Please let me know about bugs, typos and suggestions. As said above, the Google order book will still be around and I might make manual updates when I'm around (although less often than I used too). But I'm really encouraging everyone to use the new order book. If you have bug reports or suggestions, please post them in the other thread as this buyer / seller thread should be reserved for posting of orders.

\ No matter how good the new system is, the familiar system always seems to be easier. It is so hard to migrate people over to a new platform. Sorry Max, I had a bit of a hard time understanding the new system. I'll work with it more later. Thanks for putting it together for us.
