We are pleased to confirm that Black Arrow Minion works.

We are now testing speed and power consumption.

Was there a chance that the minions couldn't work  Angry nothing is 100% but really, is this surprising to you guys?

LOL I don't think anyone was expecting them to say "Uh, we ran some tests, and the chips don't work.  Back to the drawing board"

Then again... Tongue

I can't wait to get my desk ornaments.  They'll be the talk of the office.    Smiley
Mining in the office eh? Im not too sure they will appreciate the power consumption and many offices have lots of locked down networks, do you even know if its possible at your office?

Yup.  Sold off my Ant team and down to the solo Ant.  It'll be just him and his new twin X-1 buddies.   Grin

So are we getting our goal of 100Ghash for the X-1?

Hopefully 120 GH/s overclocked!  Need that extra BTC dust.   Wink

With the 140A board the chip will not be running at full speed, as it has limited power available to it. Increasing this power will also increase the hashrate.

This is also why we have not provided power specifications. Because the chip is running at a slower speed and also has less power available to it it will also use less power. So the efficiency with the 140A board would not mean a lot.

"You are part of Batch 1 round 2, the only difference is a later shipment date towards the end of the batch." Well at least i got an email back. Not sure what that means about my refund though? Has the mark not been missed? I don't get it, is batch 1 round 2 also ineligible for compensation then since there was a "later date" set for them? I am left with assumptions as nothing about a refund was mentioned. Did the people who got refunds from minersource use bank transfer or btc?

We can't grow when we won't criticize ourselves!

Yes please, for those of us who do not know what the difference in those boards means can you please explain if hitting that 85 GH/s is good?  Is that on target for a 140A board?  Does that put your estimates of getting 120 GH/s on a 200A board feasible?  Please elaborate on what that means?

Small Business Note:  Leaving a message that the chip that was designed to achieve 120 GH/s is getting 85 GH/s, and not explaining to a non-technical crowd what this means is generally a bad idea. (especially when that crowd is already a little angry) Smiley

Also - you did not include power specs, were those being tested as well? What are/were they?

Edit:  I think you should post an address where you are doing your testing to, I would like to see/know what BA is doing with the chips now that they are in hand.

I started to play with voltage numbers like 0.7V*140A=98W? But I agree and support your post. I consider myself non-technical and we are really in the dark.

Sorry indeed non-technical people will be left in the dark a bit at the moment.

The basic principle is that the chips running with 140A are running slower than the chips running with 200A hash boards.
As soon as the further testing is done we will post it on the forums with the final speed and power consumption specifications.

This is great to see the product taking shape. Overdue but better late than never as the phrase goes.

Now if BA dig deep and properly compensate purchasers for their delay, this story may yet have a happy ending.

 Roll Eyes

Indeed, it is great to see a manufacturer doing it's best to come through, to try to make up somewhat for it's faux pas's.

They goofed on the initiial date.  We'll never know if they'll ever admit it, but it looks like they are scrambling, and are trying to make up for it with it's compensation packages.

They do seem to be posting weekly updates and are trying to be as transparent as possible.

Incompetent, maybe.  Disorganized, possibly.  At least it looks like they're giving a shit about it's customers.

Can you guys bring a general update on boards/cases/psu's etc?

- Would love to know if the 200A board assembly line is on track etc.

Already said my opinion for compensation plan ( = dosen't matter how, just don't force people to spend more, I know that isn't a common tought ).

For minion settings, fast mode should be focus EXTREMLY ONLY @ max GH/s possible meeting termal, PSU, semiconductor possibilities ( ppl who want power don't think of it ). In this way you'll able to sell you product as a good GH/$ ratio.
ECO MODE should be focus EXTREMLY ONLY of efficiency, no matters GH/s. If X1 should be able to do 0,5 W/GH at the wall (I know that I'm flyin with fantasy) delivering only 50 GH/s for me it would be fantastic. You'll able to sell it as the more efficienty miner EVER made and your sell volume will go to the moon.

Normal mode simply ( H + L ) / 2.

Obviously we are at the point where the customer should be able to friendly modify voltage settings cause we all know, chips are not identical to each other ( and sometimes much different ).

Good work BA !!!

Dear Black Arrow,

The 50% hashingpower ontop of the initial batch 1 order is a slap in the face to your backers.
Please review this and ship the "compensation hardware" fully functional (yes, PSUs included) and with no additional shipping fees to cover.

Thanks

Probably just trying to clock it as high as they could?
Anything you max clock would increase instability and add more errors.
We will see, as they should be tinkering with the setup a bit more.

Hmm thats much more than anticipated, i thought you where expecting 0,75W/Gh on the T/T scale (and i thought TT scale would be 120 Gh/s)

now it's 1,25 W/Gh  that aint good numbers at all.. Sad

with these figures your product aint competetitve at the price you are asking also this will make a HUGE impact on our ROI casue with these numbers the miners cant run for a long time before the powercost exceed the mining profit. !!!!

Do these numbers include all the other components (LCD, PSU, Controller etc etc..) or do these numbers need to be added to the equation?

EDIT:

O. and PLS. do not ship my units until you provide me/us with some power efficientcy numbers that are messured.

Well.

It all depends where you live and what your power cost are per kWh.

Where i live (Holland) i made some calculation based on the following numberS:

- 120Gh/s
- 150 W power consumption
- 0,21 euro/kWh
- exchangerate of $ 500,- (wich is higher than todays exchange rate)

The miner will ONLY stay profittable until it hits 29 bil (wich is just around the corner). this means it will have a HUGE impact on ROI.
