Is this caper of having to buy a PSU for the X1 separately some sort of a scam to make more profit?
Why was it not mentioned at the time of purchase 6mths ago?
OMG has it been 6 mths already!
It is for their compensation machines. They are offering one free machine for every two you ordered, minus the power supply on the free machine. (if you want that sub-par power supply it is 45+shipping)
The painful optimist in me says, well at least they are giving something away for all the troubles caused.
The cynic in me says that it is total bullshit to compensate people in such a half assed fashion.
I would have rather taken the original 4 month hosting or what ever, something that wouldn't have cost me more money, i don't have room for all these extra machines.
They had to have realized that to pay for hosting for all the compensation machines that cost was > just giving the customers the machines - power supplies. It seems shady imo. Like when you tell a child to apologize and they do the whole "sorry" really quite and unintelligible until you get on top of them for dickin around.
This isn't black arrows first rodeo, that is what is most depressing to me, they seemed to have released some lancelot fgpa miners before this debacle without much issue. Maybe it was a couple hundred units compared to what they are looking at today and bit off more than they could chew. I really do not know.
The final thing that is unnerving to me, how many times do these asic companies release the first batch of machines with no issues? Even after all their testing and what not. I was reading bitmain was having issues with their latest batch of miners, how many get it right the first time with no issues?
