I think the new port is 9334!

** Proof Of Research Official Launch Date**

10 / 11 / 2014 : 6 PM GST;  1PM CST US

UnixTime: 1413032407

This launch will give us 9 days to work out any issues initializing our foundation, finishing the scrypt phase, giving the exchanges time to initialize the new wallet - and starting the coin exchange program by 10-20 (our one year anniversary).  On 10-20 we will be ready to go live with GRC PoR on the exchanges and start the PR phase.

Rob

PS Download instructions and config info will be available by Saturday.

i'm ready to begin to mine again this great coin!

I really like the pure Proof of Research!!

I've built the wallet from github without problems (yay!), but can't connect Sad Using .conf file
Code:
rpcuser=username
rpcpassword=password
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=9332
listen=1
poolmining=false
cpumining=true
email=my_boinc_projects_email
addnode=supernode.gridcoin.us
addnode=node.gridcoin.us // didn't know which supernode is valid
BTW 2 questions:
1. I don't want to mine scrypt (particularly not on cpu), should I leave cpumining=true or not??
2. I have boincs under 1 username but on a few machines - is it enough to have one wallet with the proper boinc_project_email address, or do I have to have a separate wallet on each machine?

#1:  Its OK to leave it in - the wallet ignores it and starts PoR mining on block 2051. But you have to scrypt mine from 1-2050.
#2: No you can now run just one wallet; it figures it all out by itself now.  But you do have to set "email=" in the config file to your single boinc email.

The new wallet loads much faster and seems to be much more sleek and efficient, I am really liking this! This is a big improvement over the GRC classic wallet!

It hasn't caugth any connections since a few hours, I'm building it on my laptop and starting to experiment :/ What could be wrong with my conf file??

Yes port is 9334 and make sure to have "listen=1" in your .conf file! On one of my rigs I did not have that line and the wallet would not sync without it. So make sure that line is in there!

sure but
Code:
rpcuser=username
rpcpassword=password
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
server=1
daemon=1
rpcport=9334
listen=1
poolmining=false
cpumining=true
email=alicea@tlen.pl
addnode=node.gridcoin.us
with all variations of rpcallowip=127.0.0.1 (.*) and server=1 daemon=1 presence or not - doesn't work - doesn't connect

daemon=1
rpcport=9334
listen=1
UpdatingLeaderboard=false

(...)
I tried the new research client and it works and syncs up correctly.

This gives a really useful info for me Smiley havn't seen that there're 3 repos:
https://github.com/gridcoin/Gridcoin-master
https://github.com/gridcoin/Gridcoin-Research
https://github.com/gridcoin/Gridcoin-stake

Gridcoin-Research connects and gets synced (there was a minor bug in clientmodel.cpp but I've fixed it and built the wallet. If anybody would like to use it, the wallet for 32bit Debians like Ubuntu, Mint etc could be downloaded from here http://share.mukor.net/wallets/ and 64bit version will be later).
I've been trying with Gridcoin-master before. This was the cause of problem?

Which of them should I use if I want the Proof of Research only? Gridcoin-Research? Should it be always open like during staking?

When placing a deposit address (generated on Poloniex) into the wallet - I'm receiving a message, that it's not a valid GRC address... What's up?

When installed Gridcoin-Research, everything is OK, got >10 connections, got synced. Now I'm compiling it on another machine and try it, too. I guess that you should install research, not classic one.
The only problem is with Poloniex who's deposit addresses seem not to be OK for Gridcoin-Research wallet. Maybe they have the classic wallet and the addressen are incompatible or so? This is the question for dev-team Smiley

Hi berkson,

What classic version are you on?
Please use just node.gridcoin.us

Have you tried the download blocks option?

The adresses are not compatible. Your coins have to be burned at the pool website to change them into research coins

First make sure you have both the latest classic and research version installed. Next gather all your classic coins in the wallet.
Follow the burn instructions and you will now have your research coins. These you cab start trading october 20th!

Hi berkson,

What classic version are you on?
Please use just node.gridcoin.us

Have you tried the download blocks option?

Ok now when i used only
addnode=node.gridcoin.us ONLY
i was able to sync but only with my 4th winxp computer
But this should be enough to exchange two wallets i have (i will copy wallet.dat to the client that is working)
Now when i try to use this page:
http://pool.gridcoin.us/CoinExchange.aspx
I did everything correctly and got green message but  then when i send 73.0339 grc from old classic wallet
it says "insufficient funds"
That is my second wallet thas only has the fraction of grc ,so is there a minimum i can exchange?
Also i thought it would be a good thing for testing purposes to firstly exchange only a small amount.

EDIT
************************
O yeah i cant send the very last digit, probably due to the transaction cost (did that same mistake few months back)

Please make sure to keep backups of your wallet.dat

Are there enough funds in your wallet? I would also advise a small amount first. As far as I know there is no minimum. You could try a couple grc.
