A very interesting initiative, but before I can join I need a few clarifications (I've mined Bicoin and altcoins for a long time, so I know all about it. I've also had top hosts in S@H for years, so I know all about BOINC projetcts too):
1: When will you support one wallet address? Current implementation is way too manual as it requires one wallet per host, and administering so many wallet addresses is an no go. 2: I don't understand how the hardware utilization is shared. I use my GPUs to crunch M@H or S@H tasks with each project's optimized binaries, so there is no gpu cycles left to also mine. 3: How to set up ASICs?

1. Do you mean one wallet on several computers? 2. You can CPU mine Gridcoin and have the GPU do Boinc work for projects like Milkyway@home. That's what I do now. 3. I haven't used asics, but I think it can work if the asic can mine against a loopback address, once the new p2pool is up I think it will be easier to use asic. 1. Do you mean one wallet on several computers? No - I mean one address for all miners - just as we do when mining e.g. on clevermining.com - you mine on multiple hosts, but get paid out to one address (use your wallet address as user name). In this case your "master" wallet.2. You can CPU mine Gridcoin and have the GPU do Boinc work for projects like Milkyway@home. That's what I do now. My question was GPU. But same goes with CPU - if I use CPUs for S@H or M@H - what's left for mining?3. I haven't used asics, but I think it can work if the asic can mine against a loopback address, once the new p2pool is up I think it will be easier to use asic. KNC is referring to Gridcoin, so someone must know how - and I'm looking forward to the FAQ / description from those who know.A very interesting initiative, but before I can join I need a few clarifications (I've mined Bicoin and altcoins for a long time, so I know all about it. Love the concept behind this coin alot. Useful application of all this computation power...what a concept. Submitted my vote on Cryptsy to get GRC added. Still quite a ways behind ALN, MED, and XRP but what the hell.

what version of .net framework do you have installed? What OS do you have? However, I do believe Gridcoin could be profitable in the long-term. It has the potential to replace XPM as the best coin which contributes to science.

I think what will start to happen is that all the shit cryptos will start dropping out of the exchanges as everyone realizes what a waste of time all of them really are. Once people start to look for true value then coins like Gridcoin will shine. I think it is a matter of time. Welcome to the club Nwfella. But gridcoin is profitable with mining even with a "poor" hw, and it has real innovation too. So, if people start to mine or buy it, they will not lose their money, i think

You can use any old laptop and still make some gridcoin, you can't really do that with the other cryptos.

You can install Gridcoin on your mining rigs and use the CPU while mining on the GPU to increase your ROI too.
