Sounds like Know Your Customer / Anti Money Laundering laws (KYC/ AML).
Governments don't like it when people try to hide assets, income, etc..
BTW, Thomas is still getting his PC set up at the new facility, so he's also backlogged on PMs if you're trying to reach him.
Also: we'll never knowingly contribute to any 51% attacks. We're here for the long run. That doesn't do *any* of us miners any good except for those that want to watch the world burn.
If BTCGuild got too big, we'd be out of there too, for the good of the network.

Should be doing p2pool. For one thing, its (very) good for the network to take hash rate away from big centralized pools. For another, the payouts have been larger than centralized pools (p2pool has "good luck"). There is a theory that the decentralized nature of p2pool leads to fewer orphans.
The payouts are a bit lumpy but on the scale of group buy payouts (say twice a month) it smooths out pretty nicely. p2pool usually gets 1-2 blocks per day.
But I'm not running things here so that is just my 2c as a small share holder.

p2pool doesn't work well with all ASICs. It also requires a bit more babysitting then just pointing at a big pool like BTCGuild. M

my guess the Q1 hardware is starting to get "burnt in" By "Burn in" you mean started mining with all the pre-order hardware. Shipping should start once ROI is unobtainable.

Well, that is how this business is. The only way to avoid that, if is nobody paid for preorder, then would the manufactures have more focus on time-to-market.

Also is there somewhere we can confirm out payout address and shares, such as an excel spreadsheet, or on the (existing/new) website?

There will be a google doc when I get all / most of the payout address'. The new site forces you to provide one and checks to make sure its a valid one (doesn't check to make sure its yours).

R17 is sold out R23 will begin on Wednesday January 22, 2014, if it doesn't refunds can be issued if requested on January 23rd. The website will track and request payment for everything.

At the moment, the new site won't let me log in with my old P/W. If I explore setting up a new account, the site asks up front for a BTC payout address. Up until now, I have liked being able to use different BTC addys for different rounds. Will it now be only one BTC addy per customer (email addy) or is that something temporary? Thanks!

Easiest way is to create a new account, with a different email. This may be an option in the future but will take time to implement.
