OK unity sucks. so I found some instructions to change to gnome
ITS WORSE. now NOTHING shows on my desktop! I cannot even find an app list of stuff similar to windows start.
Relax, take a cookie, listen to me First off, you're right, Unity is the great Satan. But leave GNOME itself out of that judgment. A nicely config'd GNOME handles like a dream. That stuff you are missing you can get when you open https://extensions.gnome.org/ in a browser. There you can load all kinds of stuff. Or just do it like it's meant to, use the activities menu to start/find stuff (northwest corner / windows key). ok installed xfce4. life is good except now when i doubleclick on my symbolic link on my xfce desktop, the java client runs, but I get no console.

Indeed, awesome! But for me as most likely for many other people, a closed source client is a show-stopper. IMO, you're better off rethinking your license model and work around any constraints of 3rd party software. This simply looks too promising to not receive the acceptance which apart from the license model this quality work surely deserves.

My memory might be failing me, but I have a faint memory of reading that he thought NXT was premined and should not be on coinmarketcap, so he made that site. May be completely wrong though.

Hi guys. Long time lurker, first time poster.
Your powers of Lurking are impressive indeed! You're too kind I figured it was about time I made a post, at the very least to express how impressed I am with NXT and the community; What Ricky did (And is continuing to do) handling EpicThomas in such a mature manner and everyone compensating the victims as best they could. With the communities efforts and dedication to implement new features and support eachother, how could I not post? Spending time here always brings something new to take away and ponder over, and almost always makes me more excited for the future of this coin. I can only hope it continues.

OK, you don't have to rush, we need as much info as possible. Many numbers too.
I could provide lots of data, whatever we might need. Performance / load, Power consumption, solar stuff (autonomy time etc), prices / part lists. Not sure yet though about what format would be good to write this up in. And pictures. Maybe you know some Pro / half Pro photographer, who could make some really cool photos. If we had them in 10 days, that would be fantastic. Somehow, to me this setup doesn't seem suitable for real high-end photography. I mean look, it's a really simple case and an actual cardboard box I'm using My own photography hardware is almost nonexistant. Best thing I could come up with is an iPhone 4s. Here are two more fun shots: First is the setup running autonomously (notice only incoming cable: ethernet), second is the solar/battery load regulator and the actual LiPoly.

how many emails? We can arrange protesting emails against those protesting emails. Just add Nxt. Please Not sure I understand your question. You mean max number of collected business-cards? I doubt we would get more than 500, so total expenses to be funded would be 500x20 + 3x1000, so under 25K NXT. I also think 50% of them would not the collect these funds, so we can retrive them back, so a deadline is needed. If this gets 250 people who try out NXT, it's mission accomplished. I just got another idea - what about using NXT system for activities like geo-caching. Give clues and people search for accounts... accounts contain pizes. Maybe too wild

Run the algo for 3000 items like " bublik@bublik.ru", get accounts, send monies, notify users how to use client and retieve them. This campaign could be called One-time-NXT2email.

You might be interested to know that your picture was very popular today, both on my blog (most popular topic with over 700 unique hits) and on Twitter. This was very good for PR as it showed the ridiculousness of expensive setups.

Hey Aaron, I'm putting on a debate about Metacoin layers on FRIDAY in miami, will anyone able to speak about NXT be able to attend? Mastercoin, Ethereum and Bitshares will be there. This will run on LTB as a full episode next week.
Here's the description
At the beginning of the event, each camp will have the opportunity to present their platform, the value it adds and how it's different from the others. The other speakers will then have an opportunity to ask questions about that platform. This will repeat with all three projects.
The next portion of the discussion will be focused on
DACs, DAs - Specific use cases, multi-layer progressions, etc. I'd like to expand on some of the early concepts we'll see developed on these technologies. 2-3 examples would be great per project Fundraising - You've all done, it and it defines you to a certain extent as different from colored coins which was a much earlier idea but seems to have lacked that investable quality that is propelling this next generation. What worked, what didn't. What would you do differently and do those following in your footsteps absolutely need to do exactly the same. I'd like to get visionary with the final broad topic, talk about what the ecosystem you're creating will look like in 10, 50, 100 years. Are these Metacoins logical conclusion, or are there more innovative layers still to come?
Whatever time is left will be devoted to audience questions.

Seeing Bitcoin and forks as inflationary currencies would really make their heads spin.

To the ones here that can read the trailing numbers on the matrix screen, is this deliverable? And if it is, could he have it when all those accounts were being chased? Eh? Did I not say that it was removed for the safety of the public. More specifically, the Nxt holders. If you want Nxt source code, go ask the Nxt folks to open source their work. Hmmm... for just a moment... I had an idea for a Nxt hacking toolkit. It works like this: It scans the block chain for active Nxt accounts with balances. Then it uses hashcat (see: http://hashcat.net/oclhashcat/#features-algos ) to crack the secret phrases. Any match with any of the existing Nxt public addresses essentially cracks the account. The account then is silently drained of its holdings. I wonder how much people who pay for such a toolkit?

It seems like some people have problems with the registration procedure. Tomorrow I will make a step-by-step video with registration, confirmation, profile editing, the shortlink and posting something. I hope this will help.

Two screenshots of what I've been busy with for my NXT Solaris client. To be released over the weekend, since I need a rest. Market viewPersonal account management showing NXT values in other currenciesBe careful with the market view, though. You know, it's closed source and I might have something in there that influences the markets in the direction I want... Indeed, awesome! But for me as most likely for many other people, a closed source client is a show-stopper. IMO, you're better off rethinking your license model and work around any constraints of 3rd party software. This simply looks too promising to not receive the acceptance which apart from the license model this quality work surely deserves. No joke. This open source and for mac and the client issue would be finished for ever. Nexern where are you? Do you have some updates? :s

Is there a manual somewhere how to set up Nxt on a cubietruck?
RaspNXT runs "out of box" on the cubie. Just install and update with latest NXT version. (I haven't come around to have it auto-update itself yet) BTW, behold here a quick shot of my solar cubie I'll follow up with more info soon If provide the brief manual for install Nxt on cubietruck,it will be much better.

... ... ...
Adam B. Levine Editor-in-Chief Let's Talk Bitcoin! Oh how I wish I were in Miami. Or anywhere even close. I don't know how I feel about Nxt being described as a metacoin, but since Ethereum is also on the list, it's not so bad. I have noted that Andreas has mentioned Nxt a few times as "a layer on top of Bitcoin", though, which bugs me. I've been thinking about a few topics lately that Nxt proponents should address, because they're also hot topics in the Bitcoin world: fungibility, transparency vs security, counteracting centralization, the "mining economy", numbers of transactions per block (and how they change over time) as a measure of value, maintaining strong consensus on the network, and "scarcity" (which I am beginning to think is simply a myth in the digital realm). I think Nxt has some interesting solutions for these issues and think we should be documenting them in the whitepaper. I swear I'll get to it one day. I'm also wondering where we are with finding someone to take the 10BTC fund for a cryptanalysis on Curve25519 key generation and EC-KCDSA signing...? I stumbled upon this guy, from Amsterdam, who proposed a Curve25519 cryptanalysis in 2009, and am wondering if any of our Netherlandic friends (Damelon??) might want to poke him: Cees de Laat
