The transaction fees still on the table? Just change it already.

Yes, but it's not so easy, it requires changing a lot of things internally (so that we can change it much more easily later on). Jean-luc is working on this now.

Another reason this thread needs to be spammed with a link to threads in a new forum so that this basic and important type of information doesn't get lost and buried in this thread.

Common sense would say we would need an adjustable rate, yet we have developers and testers talking as though rates are fixed now and forever and people jumping to the wrong conclusions about basic functions of this currency and platform.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

We need something that will make NXT relevant, a flagship application that people aged 16-24 (the ideal target audience of a crypto-currency business, or at least mine) can't resist.

I'm working on that right now. Digital Goods Store that could be used to sell pornopics.

Finally someone takes Nxt serious and produces something with value!

ATM accepting Doge and Litecoin:

http://www.coindesk.com/mexicos-first-bitcoin-atms-will-also-deal-altcoins/

Would be nice to see Nxt as an option.

Thanks for still keeping an eye out for us!

Regarding Asset Exchange:

1. Is there a way to give out dividends?

Dividends via AT, I suppose.

In the meantime, is Nifty_Nikel still keeping Cointropolis running ?
Because I have one very easy idea for NXT adoption/promotion:
Get NXT accepted, as a simple first gen currency, by major online games.
Payment module from Damelons guy is almost ready to go, and getting "NXT accepted here" on the log-in screens for WoW, EVE, WoT, etc.,  would be major publicity if nothing else. I've got no time to run with this, so maybe u guys (or anyone else) would like to pick it up and take it further.

+1

The idea is good. Goals are a bit fairyland (WoW, ...) but the idea is good.

We need something like a toolkit to implement NXT into games. It should be super easy to implement it. Like a tutorial site with needed files for the devs.

Regarding pandaisftw's document:

point 1: I don't like anyone being able to create the same name. It will lead to confusion. However, it's likely that this solution will be implemented in the core anyway.

point 2: if you can just choose whichever company name you want, scammers would be able to take advantage of this. An alias contents can be updated easily.

This also means that both the name and company name can be updated, again leading to confusion.

Images may be useful, have to have some system to flag images though..

Same with audio/video.

Perhaps it would just be easier to supply a URL.

Anyone know if someone giving out assets would be able to change the number of assets?  Anyone know?

I'd like to issue assets and destroy them on the fly so that the block chain can record exactly how many assets have been issued.

mmmhh, send it to the genesis account? Clients should look up which assets the genesis account owns and subtract the amount from the asset amount available on Nxt.

And Nxt will be used by traders in the beginning. Let that sink it.

Indeed it will be used by some traders, scammers and hobbyists and little else "in the beginning" - I am looking a little beyond that but it seems many can't see that far.

I would love to hear your opinion on where Nxt is heading, what the "beyond" is. Maybe it get's more clear for others if you tell some of your thoughts about it.

I think there will be more users of Cryptocurrencies in 2015-2016.

So 1 Bil. mCap for NXT in 2014 is doable. But I think we will grow together with the market cap of Bitcoin.
Because Bitcoin has still a lot of potential in the market.

If Bitcoin can reach 20 Bil. mCap. in 2015-2016, we can go higher as well.

He's doing the right thing. Change the code now (tedious task) to make changing fees easy in the future.

All fees should be completely free to be chosen by the payer/sender. If he wants to send his money or issue assets for 0.000000000001 nxt fee so be it but he must be aware there are high chances of his transaction taking a really long time to be approved due to not being too good for forgers.

Some kind of fee is needed to prevent spam and attackers sending millions of bogus transactions to his/her own accounts.

The fee should be reduced to 0.1 Nxt though

then the value of the fee should obey two criteria

to deter spam.
to maintain and secure decentralized network with the lowest cost of energy.

there would never lose sight of the Nxt life motif
Achieving the utopia into reality

Nxt platform really means green P2P internet network.
Nxt platform really means secure P2P internet network.
Nxt platform really means Decentralized P2P internet network.

Well that's at least a contingency plan. Seems that the fee would just be a one line variable declared as an Int in the beginning of the program and not something you'd need to change in a lot of places. What do I know?

CIYAM, What do you see the value of NXT being longterm? I partially agree with you, but only to a certain extent, I think the value of NXT can be a few USD max in the next 2-4 years, I'm sorry guys but 500USD isn't going to happen, unless supply is cut off.

Salsacz, I watched your video! Great work! We think a lot alike, I really appreciate the work you're doing. I'll send a tip your way when I get to a safe computer.

MyNxt.info works great, who created it? I will be passing it along to friends and family so they don't complain in a year when they "missed out" because it was too difficult to create an account.

At this moment in time the most important project for NXT's success is automated multisig gateways for the AE. Is there currently a group working on this? I can help out if you guys need a cross-language dev. If I can buy LTC or BTC with NXT I would never use BTER/Cryptsy/BTC-E again. There is a massive market here.

No outsiders care about it all anymore, development has halted, frustrated discussions without any results, prices are going to the bottom and everyone except the initial IPO holders have lost a large amount of their invested money --- is it as good as dead?

No, pull yourself together man.

No, of course not. CFB is working on digital goods store, jean-luc is working on decreasing fee, which takes a lot of time to do right, I'm working on web client and countless others are working on their own projects. Development is better than ever.

I've carefully followed the thread and my impression is shattered. It hurts as I have invested most of my crypto money in Nxt, but I just speak out what I see and feel.

a few USD, say $3 --> 3$*999,997,096= 2,999,991,288$

Total Market Cap of all crypto currencies atm: $ 9,960,700,747

in other words 30% of ALL value crypto currencies has to move over to NXT for it to be $3/NXT.

Current rate at market cap of $34M:  0,34%

good luck with that. there are no serious investors in Nxt. it won't happen, at least not anytime soon. not with the status quo.

(500$*999,997,096 = 499,998,548,000$)

GOOD LUCK
