http://hashrate.org just paid out it's third payout.  (http://hashrate.org/payouts.html)
Five miners took home over 100 NxT, two miners took home over 200 NxT and one took home over 400 NxT
Start mining for NxT today!

I got 151 yesterday, and 147 this morning. keep it up!

I am very curious about the results that are going to come from this.  When somebody states "I got X NXT", could you please also state the Mhash/sec of the rig you used and how long you ran it to get the NXT?

but it is a layer on top of Nxt.

Didn't know that. Thought it would get implemented once it works.

No.  This is contrary to the whole architecture of Nxt.

It's planned to be implemented as an integral part of the core.

You are KIDDING me.  BCNext intentionally designed Nxt without scripts and predicates, and now we're adding Turing-completeness to the Nxt core?

afaik it is not turing-complete.

Many devices do not have enough local storage to allow this.

AT don't require scripts nor predicates, they r optional. So we lose none of the advantages of Nxt simplified processing approach.

Yes.  And these things exist NOW?

No they don't.

Promote things that ARE.  Not things that WILL BE.  This is the source of the "bait and switch" complaint that BrianNowhere expressed yesterday and was lambasted for.

Please: let's not turn Nxt marketing into the same kind of dream-land wish-list hyping that traditional marketing is.

Re: the Turing complete thing:  is this true or not?  Because I think not:

@jgarzik Ethereum is the best approach out there? What about NXTcoin. I recently learned NXT is also turing complete like Ripple & Ethereum.
Zobrazit překlad.

EDIT: clarified by CfB (thanks!!):

AT don't require scripts nor predicates, they r optional. So we lose none of the advantages of Nxt simplified processing approach.

Stupid question time.  Soon we are going to go live with asset exchange.  When we do, will NXT be the preferred (or even only) currency to use in purchasing an asset?   Is it even possible to do something like this?

I really worry about Bitcoin or even Litecoin or Doge being used more than NXT itself as a form of payment for all of these assets that are about to be traded.  It just seems like we are missing a golden opportunity here.  From my point of view the ideal situation would be for all the altcoins to trade among themselves, but have AE force the use of NXT and not any other altcoin to purchase a tangible non-altcoin asset.

Letting another altcoin besides NXT be used as payment in the NXT exchange ecosystem is good because... Huh

See my previous post. In BTC/Day per MH:

hashrate.org: 0.00501 BTC/day per MH (calculated with 1 NXT = 0.00006 BTC) for comparison
clevermining.com: 0.00521 BTC/day per MH.

This is only a rough estimate with only 17h of mining. I will update tomorrow.

I don't have twitter  Embarrassed

And can a contributor correct this?: http://wiki.nxtcrypto.org/wiki/FAQ#Why_isn.27t_the_full_source_being_released.3F

"Why isn't the full source being released?" shouldn't be a question in the wiki

Thanks a bunch!

Dear All,

a german journalist contacted me. They want to bring something in the german TV about Altcoins and Mining. He is from Berlin, so it would be good it we found somebody in this region, who would be interested to participate und probably say some nice words about Nxt. So if you know somebody who is willing to this please let me know! Would be a great opportunity to bring Nxt in the media.

Best regards

I have exposed uncertainty and confusion.  My job here is finished.  Please continue clarifying, and bitcoinpaul, I HOPE YOU ARE RIGHT!

Why would we create a platform that allows our competitors to gain ground at our own expense?

The NXT AE only accepts NXT natively. Every buy/sell order will cost NXT, no matter what.
