I created a pennies address that takes them out of circulation, reducing how many are available, thus increasing their worth There wouldn't be a way for anyone to spend them there and anyone can check the balance of that address to see how many pennies are not in circulation.

Seriously, if we start removing coins from the total supply, Pennies will be ridiculously valuable when people realize what not having satoshis means.

Guys, what block are we on now?  I have 10.2.1 but all the coins I sent to Cryptsy went into purgatory.  It's synced so I'm not sure what's coin on.  The wallet I had previously was the older 9.6 I think.  Definitely NOT the 1.0.0.
