Ok guys, how does everyone think that we can make this coin viable again? It would be nice to at least get back our initial investments...The longer we wait the more likely that this coin and others like it will become too obsolete to profit from...I really like pennies, I have 15 billion at the moment and I would invest more if we could develop a plan of action...
First you must ask yourself how and why cryptocurrencies are used. Next ask what separates CENT from any of the other alt-coins. Finally, consult your pineal gland.

Hi Catman, I am much appreciated your hard work. I also have the sync problem. Could you please explain how to wipe my blockchains, thanks.
I realize I am not the person you asked but if you go through this thread it has been detailed multiple times how to delete the blockchain and start from scratch. found hereAnd here (third post down #4 in the list) And if you still cannot find it perhaps this instruction will help. INSTRUCTIONS (Windows):
Go to C:\Users\%USER%\AppData\Roaming\Pennies (press the windows key + r and put in %appdata%\Pennies) Delete everything BUT KEEP THE WALLET.DAT Run the Pennies latest version 0.10.2 qt Wait for the blockchain to download doneThanks for your help, I will try the instruction.

That's weird, how long(many confirms) does it take to get your deposits into cryptsy?
FYI when you generate a deposit address for any coin on Cryptsy they have other words in the dialogue box, please take the time to read them. (Hint) some coins are different.

Seems no problem if you send CENTs from old transaction (before 8 Jan). But if you send new generated trans. (after 8 Jan) there is a problem. You can check that by choosing inputs before sending Cents to Cryptsy.

Seems no problem if you send CENTs from old transaction (before 8 Jan). But if you send new generated trans. (after 8 Jan) there is a problem. You can check that by choosing inputs before sending Cents to Cryptsy. I'm also having issues with sending to a Cryptsy address (latest wallet), A small transfer worked perfectly (<100), but a larger one (approx 50k) dissappeared. Both did get thousands of confirmations, but the bigger one did not show up at Cryptsy. Now what? Is there something I personally can do? Or do we need to wait for another wallet update? I'm getting confused by the talks about forking, chains.. an address is an address, right?

Ok. I redownloaded all data (with addnode=node.cryptsy.com in pennies.conf) and now I think I have good data because I see "blocks" : 256140, "moneysupply" : 39679502227709.00000000, and these numbers dont grow so fast. Maybe that issue was because of peers.dat. Maybe it was affected and downloaded moneysupply from cryptsy because they are still making oldstyle big stake, am I right?
But now I have 3 tx from 15.01 that are incoming and they are unconfirmed. Before redownloading data they were all ok. Does it mean I lost them?

Here is one difference: "version" : "v0.10.2.0-abe", "version" : "v0.10.2.0-unk-abe",
Yeah, -unk is just added when somebody compiles from source and the compiler can't find the origin. In other words, the compiler couldn't find the git metadata. My v0.10.2.0-abe wallet is taking forever to start up and when it is it consumes 25% of my processor..... Anyone with the same issue?
Probably almost everyone, the blockchain is huge so it takes to long to boot and the network is a mess so it eats up all your cpu. Can't do anything about that right now. catman,The total is still in rapid growth!
[...]
22:35:54 "moneysupply" : 40549500191757.00000000, 22:52:02 "moneysupply" : 40557125986656.00000000,
Ahahah, that's hardly rapid growth. That's crawling compared to what it was previously.
I couldn't really give a damn about your "investments", you were a fool to invest in pennies and I feel no obligation to assist any of you in that regards. The future of pennies is simple, as it was always intended it will be a play money. Something for parents/teachers to use to teach their children about cryptocurrencies and economics. Perhaps also for use as a tipping currency when you give someone your "two cents" or a "penny for their thoughts". That's it, that's all. The value should stay exactly how it is, at most it could be allowed to reach 1satoshi LTC again, nothing more. No, I am serious, I want to think about ways to improve its chances, not just assume it's a complete failure. Several people have talked about the possibility of this coin being used as a base currency like PrimeCoin...why would that not work? I really want to know, I am not joking or being sarcastic...
Why the fuck would you ever think a broken, worthless cryptocurrency could ever be used as a base trading currency? How could you even ask a question this fucking idiotic? It's clunky, slow, broken, worthless, and for fucks sake it uses proof of stake. No one who even thinks about running an exchange would even try to consider that that might be a good idea. @Everyone: The blockchain's still forked up. It's gonna take awhile (and probably a few more checkpoints) to get it all sorted out. And by "awhile" I mean awhile, not 5 minutes. This shit's gonna take time, lots of it.

Ahahah, that's hardly rapid growth. That's crawling compared to what it was previously. At this rate (7,625,794,899 in 17 minutes), if it's real, it's over 500B a day or 1 trillion every two days. I see that as a rapid growth.
