I know that Earthcoin does not really advertise like its some energy conscious/green living currency, but its not a bad angle to advertise from due to how "low energy usage" conscious people are becoming. So if it was possible to modify Earthcoin in to using Scrypt-Jane, then we all could cut down on our energy usage, as one of my rigs uses about 700w when on Scrypt, and 540w on Scrypt-Jane. you'd also be resistant to the Scrypt-ASICs that should be showing up later this year.

I've also been wondering what that would mean to a currency, good or bad? From a hobbyist miner's perspective, it would be awesome if all new coins would be scrypt-jane because then even with 1 gpu I can mine some coins when the difficulty is not too high yet. When the scrypt asics are released to the public, only the already wealthy investors can mine standard scrypt coins at release. But for an already established coin where gpu mining barely pays for the electricity? Dunno..

If it is possible it would be nothing but beneficial. Are any of you at earthcointalk? I am going to bed now, but I'll make a post about scrypt-jane tomorrow unless one you guys does it tonight

I'd like to add something personal to the crew that exists on this message board.  You are all a part of the community.  There is a choice with what to do with EarthCoin, some of you profit or lose from trading the currency and that is expected and warranted but there is something more meaningful you can also do and that is literally build something!

Some of you can believe.  Believe in the underlying message of what a crypto-currency actually means!  For this thread it is EarthCoin but it is applicable to all.  If you wish for the value of EarthCoin to go higher which it will naturally do anyway you must spread the word.  You must convince people that this is not a joke and understand yourself what protects a store of value and how everything we know in society regarding "value" is a lie.  You inherently know the system we live in to be a sham no matter how much pageantry is put forth for the voting of the Chairman of the Federal Reserve, all of you, but your answer over the last century has been, "What can I do about it" and rightly so.

Now there is a solution for you, something that can not be taken away, can not be penalized and only obtains value from the collective belief of market participants!  Something the unites us all.  If you really want to create value, find merchant partners, charitable organizations, wireless apps for commerce of EarthCoin.  Simply spread the word and actually create something, create partnerships.  The feeling is euphoric and the reward comes naturally, quite the opposite with fiat currencies - think about it - selling insurance, investments, loans, a lemon vehicle, the feeling is horrible inside and the reward just does not feel right instinctively.

The developers can only take the technology so far, it is up to the collective beliefs and passions of everyone involved with EarthCoin to develop partnerships and content.  Do not be shy, you are part of the new form of trade and commerce. Everyone else is behind the curve.  Someday soon they will be seeking you out as to how they can protect their worthless paper money.

There is a reason for all this!  The money supply is backwards not to mention corrupted and broken.  You are making this happen each and every one of you in your own way, so now step it up a notch! This is a revolution!

Take this as a major lesson: NEVER store coins long-term in a pool!!!!
Just set it for auto withdrawal every 1000 coins right into your wallet. Back up your wallet on a schedule, I do everyday because it's literally just copying and pasting a small file, but once a week wouldn't be a bad idea.

They may or may not be safe, I'd guess they will be there but you never know.

I'm sure your coins are safe. Don't worry about anything, let them post update.

For future. Earthcoin withdrawal on there is roughly 0.001 EAC. What I'd do is just withdraw after each trading session and transfter back next time you go in. Earthcoin is so incredibly fast, it would only take a few seconds to see the transaction go through and you would have a whole lot of peace-of-mind for that tiny fee.

Small typo though on the foundation page: "The first organizatoins.."

When presenting the idea of crypto donations to the organizations it probably would be good to demonstrate how easy it is for people to donate. No need to do bank wire or go to find your credit card or any of that stuff.. just copy-paste address and go. Btw, would it be a good idea if people who donate could add info into the transaction comment field (just a message to say hi, or wishing happy new year or world peace etc), and that info would show up in the foundation page in a donator list or something.. would make taking part more personal for those that like it.

The transaction comments in the client are public so if those transaction comments say something like "Save the Children" it would be very easy to index all those who contributed.  Or People can also put their name with the charitable organization name or even a pseudonym.

Thanks for all the hard work. I do think we need more youtube videos talking about Earthcoin. I might do some bounties myself down the road to encourage more videos supporting the coin.
