I can't believe we're still down.

You are surprised. See I told you the admin just don't care at all.

It was a nice site but this is totally unacceptable.

You're funny.  I'm convinced that they "care", it's their site afterall. Mostlikely, they care more than me.  However, I also care.

I am guessing would  have to be something related to the new version coming out. I don't see what other problem could happen else wise.

Would it really take this long to update to a newer version, cannot see it taking days to do maybe one or two.

It could take that long if the software is new to the developer, and they have to figure all the things out like integrating it with deposits and all.

Why haven't they left their original software up until they got the new version sorted out? Everyone is playing at other sites today: Betcoin, Nitrogen ... they are popping up by the dozens. Seals needs a complete resort on the business execution side or they are dead ...

The old software seems to be the problem. They commented that it was some other problem and not a problem with updating the software.

Pure speculation:

  • Seals had a component failure, and the replacement component was also defective.  It would not be readily apparent.  They would change many other things before they realized it
  • A power surge caused multiple, simultaneous equipment failures
  • There was an unknown change to their internet connection parameters
  • They had a recent change in a key tech support position.  Loss of corporate knowledge
  • They introduced a bad cable or connector during the recovery

If it was any of these, I am sure there would be an ETA for coming back. Seems to be some kind of technical problem, which hasn't been encountered before, or the developer is on vacation and is not available to solve it right away.

As long as we're speculating wildly, I was thinking that maybe something broke on the old server and someone made a snap call that it would be easier (if perhaps not faster) to push out the new version than put another band aid on the old server/software version.

swc is down and betcoinpoker has a 10 BTC freeroll….what do you think its gonna happen...seals needs to plan for stuff likes
this before it happens...I don't ever see any site down for 5 straight days...and not even giving updates about what the issue is...this is bizzare, even for them. Are they overconfident that all the players would come back...don't care or are they really this bad at PR.

Which one best describes the situation?

  • Seals is trying to determine what the problems is
  • Seals has fixed the original problem, but another problem has appeared
  • Seals knows what the problem is, but it is taking a long time to fix it
  • Seals knows what the problem is, but does not know how to fix it
  • Seals knows what the problem is, but is waiting for a replacement component to arrive
  • Seals knows what the problem is, but is waiting for a technical expert to arrive

1)  really sorry for no comms last few days, I understand the frustration.  Sometimes life happens at the worst times and you come back to a shitstorm.
2)  ST6 is primarily focused on getting SwC back
3)  balances are available for withdraw.  big ups to hdev for handling them.
4)  bitcoins are safe, and I reiterate that they are available for withdraw if you'd like them.  Big ups to all of ST6 for this, with the MVP going to hdev
5)  No clue how long we will be down, it's in ST6's hands and it looks like it may be a bit. I'm not going to say anything further until I spend a bunch of hours understanding the exact nature of the issue.
6)  tyvm for playing SwC, and I understand how frustrating it must be not to have it right now.  As many of the beta testers can verify (please, speak up now, I understand I swore you all to secrecy but it's totally cool now) we are very close to dropping absolutely super-nasty bitcoin poker 2.0 software.  We have been playing live games for small stakes for a few weeks now, and I can promise the bitcoin poker world we are going to drop this all over your faces very soon.  During this unplanned, extended downtime please thing about our history, and how we have consistently delivered since 2011.

Bear with us, I wanna dealer's choice too Smiley

The bolded part is what concerns me.  Seems Micon is not telling the whole story, and holding information back.

Mavens upgraded Software had irrevocable crash after another improbable runner  gut shot beat that went well beyond the variance factor causing the site to shutdown as every component of the software short circuted and could no longer operate. The only option is to scrap current software into which thousands of man hour went into upgrades and get another 350 dollar mavens platform and start all over again which is not feasible so massive beta testing is being conducted on grid software as must work flawlessly.

The bolded part is what concerns me.  Seems Micon is not telling the whole story, and holding information back.

Let's be clear. Micon is not spending a bunch of hours tooling over Ohm's Law. But, if they found a security hole either in their software or someone else's ('memba when an Oracle bug took down Orbitz.com?), I'm sure they won't talk about it until it's thoroughly patched. A more benign explanation is that ST6 doesn't want the resultant static if the chairman starts running his mouth and popping off ETAs with no basis in reality.

I, for one, will not be satisfied until there is another "breakfast with the chairman" video featuring bathrobes and biscuits. Better yet, breakfast with ST6, the chairman, bathrobes, and biscuits.
