...

I had 0.31202301 BTC in my wallet at 2017-08-01 14:17:10
(I can confirm this by looking at my transaction log)

According to the Bitcoin cash website the fork happened at 2017-08-01 18:24:41 UTC

And yet I only got 0.00532192 BCH

Is it possible that the missing balance was used to provide loans in 'Lending' feature? If so, you don't get credited for that.

Nope I never lend on exchanges.

My only guess is that the exchange could have used midnight July 31 as the cutoff thus allowing them to keep all the BCH coins held on the exchange for the rest of the day (August 1)

This is only speculation, that is why I was wondering if anyone else experienced the same problem. It would be a big red flag for me if the exchange was short changing their customers.
(Withdrawal delays with no response to tickets is already 2 red flags)

Even with a 4 hour time difference between UTC and Delaware time I should still be under the cut-off.
[....snap....]

Oh well ... according to the website poloniex.com, as you can see at the bottom right of the page, the site and the exchange _does not operate on local delaware time_ but at UTC.......

So, there should no timezone difference occur at all....

should..... well....

And yes ... right now the trust level of poloniex should imho no longer be considered as trustable _at all_. Sadly Sad

Hacky

Thanks man, I did not notice that.
Do you know if the trade history is also in UTC? I am assuming it would be. But sometimes they list in local time.

I too am waiting on a BTC withdrawal for more than a week..

i had got the message 'complete:error' and i opened ticket at that very moment hopefully i got the withdrawal within 12 hours although my ticket was still not answered amount was 20k usd Roll Eyes Grin

I really feel for you.. I don't have any where near that much stuck in awaiting approval but I guess we both just learn't never to send large amounts in a single transaction.
Kinda sucks that Poloniex is holding us all to ransom, it feels like the run up to the Mintpal and Cryptsy collapses.

My guess is that they are trying to stop a bank-run but this kind of behavior just ruins their credibility.

Dear Poloniex. Either process the transaction or reject it.. but to leave your users hanging like that with large amounts of coin locked in transit that cannot be traded is just plain pathetic.

Deleting support tickets without a response and to leave your customers with no resort other than to threaten legal action only makes your exchange look like it is insolvent. Wake up, smell the coffee and be good to your customers otherwise you will end up causing the very bank run that you are trying to prevent.

I've been using this exchange for a couple of years, but I can not take it anymore.

The reasons? There is are lot:

1. Support. It is almost doesn't exist. I have unanswered ticket that I sent months ago.

2. Website bugs. For example TRADE HISTORY for market trades show empty. Console indicate are lot of this errors:
----------
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'oScroll' of null
    at showMarketLines (plx_marketTables.js:505)
    at resetMatketTableHeights (plx_marketTables.js:152)
    at plx_exchage.js:251
2public.poloniex.com/?command=returnTradeHistory&currencyPair=BTC_ETH Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 (Forbidden)
exchange#btc_eth:1 XMLHttpRequest cannot load https://public.poloniex.com/?command=returnTradeHistory&currencyPair=BTC_ETH. No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource. Origin 'https://poloniex.com' is therefore not allowed access. The response had HTTP status code 403.
----------

3. API issues. In case of use public API like
https://poloniex.com/public?command=returnTicker
polo indicate something like this
----------
ONE MORE STEP
Please complete the security check to proceed.
----------

CAPTCHA for public API ? seriously?

There is no desire to trust money to a service of such poor quality.

I too am waiting on a BTC withdrawal for more than a week..

For those people who did managed to get your coins out how long on average did it take after they were flagged for manual processing?

Also I seem to have got way less BCH than I was expecting.. anyone else notice that?

I had 0.31202301 BTC in my wallet at 2017-08-01 14:17:10

Just wondering if anyone else feels like they got short changed from the BCH distribution?

I don't really care about the BCH but I am beginning to have serious doubts about this exchange.

If you had a BTC balance on Poloniex and you were not lending those coins on August 1 then you should get the same amount of BCH automatically.

My advice is to raise a support ticket with them and then pray lol..
the support service seems to be very slow at the moment.

Heh lol ... for me, it seems that only high-volume traders are lucky to get their tickets read...

Cuz, we small people just don't earn them enough money or whatever fu. Sad

You want to say you had bitcoin on your "home" wallet 1 august? If so, you should gain bch yourself using electrum cash for example and then send it  to bch poloniex wallet.

I've been withdrawing BTC every day for almost one month now, 2000$ at a time (which is less and less BTC everyday, with the crazy price increase). In a way I'm glad I couldn't withdraw everything as I earned a couple of BTCs thanks to lending at crazy rates. I used some of that to buy as many BCH as I had "lost" by lending, I plan to hold both BTC and BCH, that way I'm golden whatever happens.

I'm not even incentivized to let some coins on the site for lending as the rates are terribly low at the moment, not worth the risk.

I'm not connected at the moment but in the message on the right on Poloniex they put the exact hour they took into account for the BCH distribution.
