According to CoinGecko's neutral ranking metrics, Dash fell behind XMR months ago and is still losing relative position due to new coins like ETC and ZEC.

Heh, just checked to see the latest scores (Dash=60, XMR=65) and found the Evan's Gate cargo cult token is now behind Dogecoin.

You did the right thing to warn the community about the double-edged sword nature of Masternodes w/r/t market supply and demand.

Of course the effect of Masternodes cuts boths ways; that's just basic physics (and economics is the physics of money).

Masternodes were explicitly designed to artificially lock up a huge percentage of the Dash supply in order to keep the price (which is determined at the margin) nicely pumped, so Evan The Instaminer can keep dumping his free coins at exorbitant profit.

A rational person will admit there is a downside to this scheme.  Obviously the farther you push a basketball underwater the more potential energy it accrues and the faster it will pop back up, just as the farther a pendulum swings in one direction the farther it must go in the other.

The Masternode Ponzi scheme only works so long as Masternode ROI is greater than ROI from just holding BTC or Monero.

In a bullish BTC+XMR market such as our current one, that logic halts, flips, and reverses.

The exaggerated demand for Dash produced by Masternodes undergoes a hideous transformation into excess supply, and the price unravels in a downward spiral as Masternode owners trample each other to death in a stampede for the very small and rapidly disappearing exit.

The more Dash are locked away in Masternodes, the more compounded and overwhelming this nasty inevitability becomes.

And we've all seen the endless 'ZOMG MASTERNODE ALL TIME HIGH' hype spam in this thread, which only advertises and emphasizes the huge tail risk looming over this cargo cult coin's addiction to growth.

It also depends when you got into Dash. I got started in March 2014, so most of my coins were acquired in cheaper days. If I started now it would be buying mining equipment then masternodes.

Masternodes are not comparable to ASICs.  You're conflating apples and orangutangs.

Why do we "have to consider" the trivially miniscule effect of masternode drop off, when the vast majority of them are run by Instamine beneficiaries who have a perverse incentive to keep the price pumped?

And let's remember we constantly are told (with HUGE GIANT GRAPHICS) to celebrate yet another Masternode number all time high.

Don't try to use accusations/implications of hostility to goad critics of Dash's Instamine, unstable Masternode Ponzi, etc. into self-censorship, unless you want this thread to be an echo chamber for cheerleaders and pumpers.

We are here to discuss, not "argue."  And I dispute your assertion that Dash has "great features."

Not sure what you mean by "charts are back in sync" unless you are referring to the fact Dash is once again falling below XMR parity.

Pointing out that Dash tied up in Masternodes represent a potential avalanche of surplus supply doesn't make anyone a "troll."  That's just a lame way to deflect criticism by attacking the critic rather than the critique.

Why are you abandoning DASH for ICONOMI?

Is it because Dash's price and CoinGecko ranking are falling below XMR's, or because Dash's development is falling behind Bitcoin in terms of RBF, CPFP, CLTV, SEGWIT, LN, CT, MAST, sidechains, etc.?
