What happened to the "dashpay" Slack? It is still there and working fine but it is "work" dedicated slack. Yeah, Dashpay didn't WORK for me either. Anyway, if the space is needed I could understand giving me the kick...again. LOL. The CoinChat.Club is a Thuster free multicoin slack. Need I say more about the reason for the change. :-) Watch one of Amanda's videos if you don't get the reference. We will try to keep it positive, but yet still have some critical thinking.

What is the best way to protect Dash wallet backup? I've encrypted my wallet with the pass in Dash-QT, and saved this dash.dat file. Usually I'm using KeePass for storing some text / json private keys and wallet seeds. What can I do with .dat file? I was thinking just to add this file to the password protected .ZIP archive and upload somewhere to Dropbox. Is there some best practices for whales?

Sell Dash, buy Xmr. But that is a tech stock. Its value and all its promotion is based on a single technical service - hiding stuff - which means it's here-today gone tomorrow as other "hiding stuff" tech comes along. It may have a role (along with all the other encryption-baked chains) as the SSH of crypto. As investing goes, though it's a bit like investing in typewriter companies in the 1970's. Handy at the time, then obsolete.

I zip it up with a passphrase and put it in a few jump drives (worst thing that can happen is you lose that .dat file due to corruption/fire, etc... so I hand a copy to my sister to store at her house, and my mom to store at her's If they're stolen, it'll take them a while to decode 'em as my passphrase is random and long and memorized ;P So I can simply redo everything if they go missing I don't store anything online, ie: no dropbox!!! Of course, if you feel comfortable with such a thing, you can... but I only open my wallet up on linux and then delete everything when I'm finished. It's everything to me, and I pray it will help me in my retirement, so I treat it like a treasure chest of diamonds and gold.

yep that crazy shit was on http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-11-10/gold-price-skyrockets-india-after-currency-ban too, I literally couldn't believe it I store my encrypted wallet back ups on various USB drives in different locations, but rather than save just the wallet.dat I copy the whole Dash folder with everything in it, so if the wallet gets corrupted or the laptop fries, then I just C&P in the Dash file to a new computer or the old one after deleting the messed up one and I'm good to go again, no need to download the wallet anew or anything, blockchain pretty much up to date etc. I have a dedicated laptop (Surface) just for my masternodes/wallet and that's all it does, no surfing, email opening, forums, Skype, no scripts or clicking stuff. Also I dump the private keys as a total fail safe and print them out to store in a bank safety deposit box. Important as well, especially if you are whale-ish, put in place some form of dead man's switch so that when you go to meet the great spirit in the ocean then your masternodes don't go with you. ie, obviously you should have made a will, then make sure that the wallet laptop/USB backups etc go to who you want them to and that they have say half of your wallet encryption key, the other half is in the will or on something like a LastPass account that the will will grant them access to & that they get to inherit all of the sealed documents in your bank safety deposit box with the private key dump plus instructions on what it's all about if necessary, best to get them used to crypto and using a wallet etc before hand.

I hope this is some kind of incentive for people actually currently working on the code, and not the situation where you have built something so complex you cannot debug it. IMHO, if the latter is the case, you might have to scale back your ambitions for governance automation in Dash.

I suggest for anybody to do the same !! (not using me) Finding somebody trusted or tech savvy enough who could advice the family in case anything 'bad' happens ! safety 1st

Change position between Monero and Dash now.
That didn't last very long. Is segwit going to be active on Dash before Bitcoin? Or is segwit going the way of Masternode blinding? The BitcoinUnlimited people think segwit is bad, so perhaps like-minded Dash miners will vote against activation...
