Guys, stop wasting your time. Unless you are a full time professional website builder with great experience and judgement (which you aren't by the looks of it), you should not be doing this. Darkcoin and its developer deserve better. How can Darkcoin be the next Bitcoin if a couple of hobbyists created the website? Let's put some DRK together and hire a company to create the website (which I'm sure the dev is planning to do after he is done with the final RC). I do agree that the community should be able to come up with good texts for the website though.

You are right, but sometimes the product is so good, it can sell itself. We just need to appeal to the early adopters, but keep an eye on the mid-term potential user.

Have you seen the current website? I agree we should get professionals to do branding and marketing material but this is all about getting a better website up right away. It's in all our interests to have an easier to use site with more info for newcomers to DRK. We're going to start to get press attention so we need something better right away IMO. It's only temp, not set in stone.

trustless

This word confuses most people, they hear it and draw exactly the wrong conclusion. If it's going to be used it needs a few words of explanation along with it.

+1

##

The problem is that "trustless" is the single most important aspect of what sets darkcoin apart from dark wallet, zerocoin, and all the other competitors.  You only use the language "first anonymous coin" and people say "bullshit".

Add another line: [link] What is trustless and why is this important? [/link] or something like that.  Write up a short ELI5 article that it points to.

OK if it's temporary, then I see no issue. Good work.

What does trustless mean anyway?

Sure were're not trusting the masternodes not to take all of our coins (which is awesome), but we ARE trusting them not to record who is paying who. Of course this concern is eased if we mix with multiple different master nodes, but I just wanted to point out that this word trustless is kind of prickly.

Kills me to think i bought 20 btccs worth at 38 when i could have gotten some at 28! lol oh well.

I got some at 0.44 on c-cex many months back so cant complain :p

The price will rise again soon, whales are making sure they get as many as they can at the cheapest price.

It kills me to see others are able to capitalize on this great opportunity with 20+ BTCs while I'm stuck with my measly DRKs. Grin Oh well. At least I've managed to get enough to try my hand at a masternode this weekend.

bitcoinfog has not only been trustworthy in my experience, but they even paid me for some ideas I had to improve their service. I've had BTC privacy for a long damn time. Can you guess why DarkWallet is just now showing up making a big deal about privacy and baiting in laundering interests? Why would they deliberately advertise criminal activities but not get caught or shut down... Hmmm... DarkWallet is the most obvious government-run honeypot ever...

You just explained the unexplainable to me, LOL.  I couldn't understand why they would have such a craptastic picture of the developers (looking like gangbangers) and advertising that their DarkWallet was especially made for criminal activities.

Worse still, if they were on the up and up, they make people wanting personal privacy look bad.  Freakin police state here!

Not trusting a single entity (aka vector for compromise) with your anonymity, as is required with every single other anonymity-centric coin and service right now.

That would be great. Maybe the devs could say if they want this up? I can fix up the links in no time and we could always add more content in the coming days.

In the resources category I think you should include this wiki: http://wiki.darkcoin.eu/wiki/Main_Page

I'm not sure who wrote/maintains it, but it has lots of great info and is well written.

Did several jagermeister bombs last night. Came home and decided to buy a couple of BTCs worth of DRK.

Woke up today to find out I could have got them cheaper. Bloody multipools drifting down the price.

Lesson learned - don't buy anything while pissed. But I'm sure it will happen again.

Wait, is this correct? The master nodes can keep logs and reconstruct the sender-receiver mapping? I agree that DRK needs multi-stage mixing if that's the case.

btc darkwallet alpha hurting darkcoin price?

The thing that "hurts" our price is that we're not pumpable (by much if at all) and "boring" to those who are just out to make a quick buck.  More people are holding than selling, so volume is lowish, and those that want to buy don't want to pay 300% more than it was only a couple of weeks ago... so it's a cycle that pushes and pulls and ultimately allows dark small gains with pull-backs keeping the price at a very slight rise over time.

boring

healthy!

Can someone please eli5 the Non-Repudiability mechanism of Darksend?

i.e. is there an undeniable way that a Sender can prove to the Receiver that he sent him the coins (and hence deserves to get the merchandise)...
thank you.

You still have the TXID number, you can say, that amount in this transaction came from you.  You could also take a screenshot, I suppose, of your wallet where it shows your transactions.  But ultimately, a merchant should give you a receipt, and it should be numbered "order numper" or something.  Just like with cash, you should make sure you keep a copy of that receipt.

You get just as much if not more protection as you would with handing over cash.  Buyer beware, as has always been, always will be.
