I stopped my masternode two days ago, but it is still in the masternode list. I just stopped remote machine with "darkcoind stop" and local machine was already stopped the same way.
should I write "darkcoind masternode stop"? Is that normal? pm me if you need ip. The setup is remote and local machine.
PS. please make a section on darkcointalk for this kind of problems, I did not know where to post this

Fork to implement Darksend. what about 21 then ? Here's the new schedule for development:
- RC2 (masternode payments, DGW3) : May 14th - RC3 (1000 DRK limit and denominated change) : May 21st - After this, I'll find someone to vet the code and open source. - RC4 (Bugs, security issues) - Testing, then opensource

Sorry, but what " RC3 (1000 DRK limit and denominated change)" means ? What it means in simple language ?

Sorry, but what " RC3 (1000 DRK limit and denominated change)" means ? What it means in simple language ? Right now there is a 10 DRK limit on DarkSends so it will be increased to 1000 DRK. Also, the change will be denominated to 1, 10, 100, etc. as opposed to coming back in 1 chunk.

So, with darkcoind version 100603, do I need to do anything else to be receiving payments beginning on the 14th or whenever, or will I need to install an updated version nearer the time? Because I want to set up some more. Be nice to have the wallets local though so going to try that next.
The recent variations of client etc. have left me befuddled.
About security in general, am I right in thinking that in order to steal my precious DRK, an attacker would first have to gain a copy of my key.pem file to log into the Amazon box, then crack the wallet passphrase once they had a copy of the wallet.dat? I keep the key file on a USB stick and the passphrase is good, so I should be OK?
I think you should go for the local wallet / remote masternode setup, with that option available I dont see any reason to keep your wallet on the masternode itself. I have delayed launching my masternodes until I figure out the local / remote setup. In my case I think I just had an older version will try again tonight. Ditto. I got as far as being able to setup a a testnet Masternode with local wallet. Cant remember where the local/remote setup is. Not firing a real one until I'm 100% sure. There was mention of an AMI for easier setup though, I hope in time for the 14th HERE IS THE POST FROM HUMANITEE THAT I USED AS A GUIDE FOR THE LOCAL / REMOTE SETUP. It was pretty straight forward but I think at the moment I tried I didnt have the right version. I might have been 7 years ago when I still lived in Gentoo, but since I decided to use my computer instead of babysit it all the damn time, I'm a bit rusty...
I haven't dedicated the time to reading up on it since I haven't dedicated the time to hardening my VM, which has to be done first... Do point me to the FM so that I might RTFM?
Ok, I have verified it works. Start darkcoind on remote machine. On your local machine specify the IP at launch with ./darkcoind -masternodeaddr=YOUR_SERVER_IP Unlock your local machine wallet with your passphrase. On your local machine, ./darkcoind masternode start Slickness indeed. darkcoin.conf on both machines (stolen from chaeplin's thread, thanks buddy) addnode=23.23.186.131 listen=1 server=1 daemon=1 logtimestamps=1 maxconnections=256 masternode=1
There's not much to it really! On your server lock down ports except for 9999, disable root, make ssh accept connections from your IP only, etc, etc. I recommend chaeplin's guide on DarkcoinTalk, he does a good job. Then, just follow that sequence above. You can take your local machine's wallet down and store it offline after you start the master node. Mine has been running for three days with this configuration and my wallet was only online for maybe two minutes.

Down to less than 20 DRK / day mining. Anyone mined MYR on Groestl? I might mine it and buy DRK to help keep the price up for the next few weeks.

People have been spreading FUD about FPGAs but there are no asics capable of mining X11 - are you aware of that?

I'd like to thank eduffield and the other developers for this critically important evolution in virtual currency. DarkCoin is what bitcoin should have been. Some might call it "Bitcoin 2.0" but would do better by saying: "DarkCoin is digital cash." - Child Harold - February 28, 2014 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg5424980#msg5424980

People have been replying with mixed results and un answered questions. https://darkcointalk.org/threads/needed-guide-for-running-masternode-remotely-without-the-1000drk-on-server.386/ I guess I just need to give it a shot and hope it works. I like to minimize risk when moving $1600 wallet.dat files around!

Show off! I'm down to 3-4. have you seen the guys mining 100 - 350 drk / day? It was only a few weeks ago, they were doing 1,000 / day. with this level of difficulty and price, its marginally more profitable to switch off and use the power money to buy DRK

I just wanted to say....... The SITE, LOGO, COIN etc has really come together VERY WELL. Sorry for the caps, but after weeks of back and forth, different people's views etc. I'm glad to see it in action, and think it looks great. Well done to all involved. Also great to see what the mysterious InternetApe looks like .
